I asked the flight attendant about it and she said that I would have to go back up to the ticket agent to inquire there. So I did, and I was told when I walked back up the ramp to that kiosk that the ticked agent had just Closed The Flight. So, the other lady who was standing right there said that she had to escort a minor on to the flight and that she would accompany me back to the airplane and see if she could help. She did, and when we got back to hand off the minor to the flight crew she then inquired about that seat. It was agreed that the seat was going to be vacant, and since I am a 6' 1", 250 pound man, they all thought it would be a nice thing to allow me to sit in that first class seat at no extra charge! Wow!! What a difference that made on the 4 hour flight! Thank You Alaska Airlines for helping me out and hooking me up! I will remember that when I am booking my next trip!!"

I don't think it's fair that I paid for a full seat and only was able to use half of my seat. I was incredibly uncomfortable the entire flight. I was pressed up against the window and against the stranger passenger that I did not know. By the end of the flight, my shirt and my pants are soaked with sweat, it was not my sweat."

Cons: "My only gripe is that paying for an assigned seat is only allowed 48 hours before takeoff and costs at least $30, twice what Spirit charges to allow you to select a seat during booking, so it is worse. No one watched us to ensure that we didn’t use the overhead bins (a stipulation of the fare) but we did comply anyway. We chose to take our chances and were assigned seats at the gate 16 rows apart and both in the middle seat."

It was almost always and grunt and what do you want? The personal device entertainment was very buggy. the movie I tried to watch kept skipping, like on old scratched CD."

Cons: "We were not able to print our boarding passes the day before as expected per the website and purchase docs for the tickets, despite providing passport numbers (several times) and Global Entry registrations. Had to go to a ticket desk at first departure and third departure points to have them printed, with no explanations given. Also not allowed to choose our seats for the third leg. Food was barely edible. Paid extra for roomier seats on one leg, making it more comfortable, but were extremely tight on another leg which had many empty seats scattered throughout the cabin. Cabin attendants seemed more interested in pushing items that generated revenue than providing the ones that came with the ticket (which is never cheap to begin with)."

We got to the gate for our connecting flight 9 minutes before the pushed back from the ramp and they would not let us on??? WTF poor customer service!! Fly southwest from now on!"

Pros: "Small seats, no consideration for disabled travelers. Pretzels suck. One 30 min tv show on 2.5 hour flight. No bathroom for handicap. Cheap airfare is the only reason I fly American. One attendant asked me, with attitude, if I was going to get off the plane...before realizing I can't physically walk. Her face turned white as a ghost when she realized what she had said and how she had said it."

I think a more concerted effort could have been made by crew to identify those passengers with quick connections (because of the delay) to make sure we could depart first. The captain did make a plea for people to be considerate of those who might have close connections, but nobody paid any attention to that."

So we threw away some liquids and dispersed some closed into carryons. Really stupid. Seats super small uncomfortable always have their hand out for payment for everything. Not eager to fly frontier ever again."

Cons: "Plane was scheduled to depart at 8:20 pm it was then delayed until 8:58 pm due to weather. We all boarded the plane and were ready for take off when a maintenance issue was discovered. We all deplaned and we’re told we would be put on a new plane arriving from Seattle set to depart at 11:30 pm. This departure time was delayed until 1:35 am and then 2:35 am because the captain had timed out and we would need to wait for a new pilot. Also due to the first delay everything was coded as “weather” and customer service was unable to give hotel rooms. This miscommunication between corporate and passengers and the late night created lots of frustration. Instead of being helpful or honest customer service called security on the disgruntled passengers. I heard no threats of violence just elevated voices. At midnight Frontier began handing out meal vouchers (15 dollars to McDonald’s) as a way to increase morale. I finally gave up and requested a refund, got a hotel, and a new flight on a different airline (all Frontier flights the next day were sold out). When I asked what would happen to my checked luggage they said it would be sent to Dallas (my destination) or I could pay for it to be sent back to Denver. The flight and my luggage arrived in Dallas at 5:30 am. Paid $400 for Southwest flight the next day (flying into different Dallas airport away from my parked car and luggage) just for the guaranteed service."

(initial delay was 6). 2 hours after that a person from Frontier came to our gate. explained that plane was replaced in Cleveland. They did give us 10,oo vouchers but by that time we all had pretty much eaten."

Cons: "Up charges for everything. Baggage. Seat assignment. Penalized for not selecting up grade seat to seat with tiny arm rests, non-reclining, teenie-tiny tray table that had no use at all. Seat very uncomfortable for 2.5 hour flight. Just too cattle car-ish. With all fees they charge, i'd been better off on southwest. Also, on-line check in was a real hassle and I have a FFN with Frontier."

Cons: "Flight was scheduled to depart at 9:20 PM on the 24th. On way to airport, I was advised of a 5 hour delay. At that point I returned home (1 hour 15 minutes from TPA airport) by which time the delay advice was increased to 7 hours. I called Frontier and they agreed to rebook me (at no charge) on a flight on Feb. 26th since all flights on the 25th were booked. I just checked and saw that Flt 291 actually departed TPA at 5:02 AM on the 25th. As always, it was stressful trying to talk to an agent having to listen through numerous recordings before I couold connect to ascertain times and make changes. I contacted Frontier at least 5 times and had language difficulties every time."

Pros: "First time flying with Frontier. No complaints other than having to pay for my carry on luggage. But when I only spent $80 (taxes and fees included) to fly from Dallas to Denver, I'm still happy."

Cons: "When we booked the flight and there wasn't any disclosure about luggage expense and the check in personnel didn't tell us that it was cheaper to check all the bags, so we inadvertently paid for one bag at check-in but then paid a premium to pay for the additional carry on bags. NOT a good experience. This added an additional 120 dollars to our cheap fair. Full disclosure is always better"

My 2.5 hour flight from Tampa to PHL was shortened to 2 hours. Overall, it was a great experience flying Frontier for my very first time."

Cons: "Despite the fact that their ticket counter was open for other flight departures, they only allow you to check in beginning two hours before your scheduled takeoff time. This really means you have only an hour and a half until your flight begins to board. On the flight they mentioned wanting more people in the exit row, but you would have to pay an extra $50 because it has more leg room, needless to say everyone chuckled at this blatant ripoff attempt. On the flight you have two pay $2 for a small glass of water, not a bottle but a small plastic cup filled primarily with ice. When we landed we had to wait 45 minutes before the checked baggage began to arrive. Overall this is a very poor airline. Watch out for the fees as they charge you $20 for each airline interaction. I would suggest avoiding them if you can as the price rapidly rises above your ticket cost & the hassles for basic services are not worth the cost."

Also, I went on Frontiers website prior to my trip to see what the carry-on fees were. They never explained the fees until after I was trying to print out my boarding pass and I was charged $40 per carry-on (3 of us were travelling). Give a head's up about your fees!!!!!! Otherwise, your prices are misleading!"

There was no complimentary drink, and when you ask for just water the staff rolls their eyes and gives it to you as if it was the biggest inconvenience for them. When they approach you with the cart they say, "Is anyone purchasing anything?" I also didn't like that there was hardly any announcements on the loudspeaker to let us know about what is happening, or when we might approximately be landing."

Cons: "On the outbound leg from Dallas I volunteered to move seats for weight and balance reasons at Spirit's request. My return leg was canceled by the gate agent or the system had me as a no show. I tried to check in for the return leg and was unable. I called to get this resolved and got a CSA that didn't understand airline travel or English not sure which. (One example was I spelled my confirmation code 5 times both phonetically and in plain language) I tried to explain that my return leg was cancel for some reason when I volunteered for the seat adjust on the outbound leg. She continued to ask me to book and make a new reservation. I asked for a supervisor and received no help. Decided the best course of action was to hang up and try to get someone else. After navigating the voice prompts again I finally got someone who asked me for proof I was on the outbound. I informed him no one saves the boarding passes he needs to check the manifest the TSA requires of all airlines. He backed off after he understood that I knew the system and reactivated my return leg. It is still a mystery to me why my return leg was canceled after the airline requested me to move seats. It seems Spirit have saved money on front line employee training and saved a good bit on off shore CSA call center. Last time I'll fly Spirit and I'm posting it everywhere I can. Cons: "This airline is a joke. They advertise low prices to entice you to buy flights from them, then they've got you. The fees and charges to actually complete your trip are OUTRAGEOUS. My family and I began making jokes about all the fees, just to keep our sanity. I had initially booked us on American but switched it to Spirit because I thought I was saving $400. In the end, I spent 20% more flying Spirit We almost missed our return flight. After overly scolding us for cutting it so close, the lady at the ticket counter did everything possible to cause us to miss it. We sprinted to the gate where we were again chastised for not being earlier. Of course once we boarded, we sat there at the gate for over an hour due to maintenance issues. We concluded that they call the airline Spirit because they break your spirit if you fly this airline."

Cons: "My Flight was suppose to depart at 1:25 p.m and was delayed until 2:15. When I got to the terminal the flight had been moved to 4 different terminals and then was taken down all together until one of the other spirit airlines flights left. This ultimately ended up putting is at a 2 hour delay on flight and almost caused me to miss my connecting flight. If it weren't for a good amount of other people needing the connection flight that I needed I would have missed my flight."

Pros: "The boarding process was actually fairly smooth and efficient."
Cons: "I purchased the Spirit ticket because it was ~$30 cheaper than my other options. I was okay with the connecting flights for the savings. Silly me, I didn't check the fine print-- Spirit charges to CARRY ON a bag. Both ways. The $30 I thought I saved was quickly erased when I ended up spending $90 to carry a duffel bag on the plane. All FOUR of my flights were delayed by nearly two hours. Seats were thin, sparsely padded, and cramped."

Pros: "This flight originated out of Portland to Las Vegas and then to Los Angeles where it was scheduled to depart to Dallas at 10:31 am. Initially at 9:45 when I checked in at 9:40 I was told the flight was delayed until 2:30 pm. Then when I called Spirit at 12:40 pm after receiving an e-mail from Kayak that the flight was cancelled I was told that I had 2 options: (1) To fly to Vegas where I would connect at 1:50 am and arrive in Dallas at 6:30 am or to receive a refund. The next day arrival into Dallas was not possible or acceptable so I chose the refund.. Later I found out that other passengers were booked on other flights, offered a $25.00 food voucher, and a $50 credit to be used within 60 days. I found this out after I had already booked another flight on American Airlines and when I spoke with a Spirit ticket agent they said that you made a decision so ther isn't anything that they (Spirit) could do. It cost me an additional $200.00 dollars to get to Dallas 9 hours later. What a way to be treated by Spirit Airlines after they knew the flight was cancelled when it never left Portland. My husband is a 21 year Army Officer and we travel ofter (1st time with Spirit) and we have never been treated with such disrespect. Thank You Susan Boyko"

It all started a couple weeks before the actual trip when I called their customer service number (it's a toll number NOT 1-800) and come to find out their call center is located in Asia. Talk about a language and culture barrier. The individual on the phone was not able to help me out due to their lack of speaking basic English. The trip itself started with a cabin that was disgustingly dirty from the previous flight and yes you WILL get buckled and dimed for everything! Want a Coke? It will cost you 3$. Need a boarding pass? 5$ In fact, to be able to carry on a small average sized suitcase it cost 45$. Seriously! 45$ just to carry on a smal suitcase and that price is just one way! Do yourself a favor and fly with a legacy carrier instead Delta, American, or United). Spirit has horrible customer service, dirty airplanes, and thy will nickle and dime every possible dollar from you! That's all!"

They told me I'd have to take a flight the following day from an airport an hour and a half away but were unwilling to provide transportation or a hotel. I had to buy another ticket on a different airline day of, which cost me an extra 300. I would highly recommend that no one ever fly Spirit Airlines. I was unaware of their reputation before booking, but since then everyone I have spoken with has said that they knew to never fly Spirit. Somehow I missed the memo."

Cons: "Everything was an absolute mess. The crew seemed like a bunch of college kids working for spirit through an internship program. The plane was inevitably delayed for two hours. Once we finally got on the plane, we have to wait another twenty minutes for the fuel truck to come fuel the plane. I'm surprised we even landed in the right state."

Cons: "I must 1st start by saying that my flight into Tampa from Dallas was incident free. The plane left on time, I felt safe and I was able to get my luggage within a reasonable timeframe. HOWEVER, the flight from Tampa to Dallas was a nightmare! I checked my bag and got to the gate 5 minutes early just to find that the plane had left 10 minutes early, leaving about 10 other people behind! As directed by the gate attendant, I got back on the Tram to talk to the booking agent located where I'd checked my bag. Once there, I inquired on the next flight leaving at 2:13pm. Since it was 1:30 while speaking to the attendant, I expressed my need to get on that plane since it was the last direct flight to Dallas all day. Not only did he tell me I would not make it (I had PLENTY of time and there was NO ONE in the TSA line), I would need to go to Cleveland and THEN to Dallas. Instead of getting home in Dallas at 3:30pm, I didn't get home until 11pm all because the pilot left 10 minutes before the flight was supposed to depart! To add insult to injury, when I arrived in Dallas, I was told to inquire about my luggage with the luggage attendant. I did so, and when I went inside the office & didn't even speak my reason for being in their presence (2 ladies were behind the desk), they asked me to step outside. I did so, and got in line, waiting my turn. Once it was my turn to re-enter the office, I explained my situation and what my luggage looked like. One just stared at me like they had no idea why I was speaking with them and the other seemed annoyed that they were having to get out of their chair to go to the back part of the office (it was RIGHT behind her and the size of a broom closet). They then let me know that they do not have it in the office and that I'll need to go back out the luggage carousel to see if it came in on my flight. HIGHLY frustrated at this point, I calmly explained that I was told it had made it on the flight that I'd missed that morning and that it would be in their office. They worked there, so, I did ask they asked and watched for it to come in on the carousel. 20 minutes later and almost midnight, I watched as bag after bag after bag was picked up until only one bag was left (not mine), making the round on the carousel alone. My ride was outside waiting for me and I had to wait, just like they'd instructed. In my mind, they work there and they would know. Literally, a minute before midnight, one of the luggage claim workers came out of their office and advised me to come into their office because they didn't think my bag was coming in on the carousel. NO KIDDING?! Anyways, they had me come in and fill out an incident report for lost luggage. I finally received my luggage 2 days later only after my mother had to contact the president of Spirit Airlines and I myself, multiple calls."

The flight was overbooked n last minute it wasn't, I assure you it was because next to me n a few around me should have purchased either larger seat or 2 seats it was very uncomfortable......
