I'm not sure where the problem was - whether with AA or Royal Jordanian, but my luggage did not make it to Amman with me. In fact, there was a whole group of passengers traveling on American from different US cities, switching to RJ in Chicago, whose luggage did not come on the flight to Amman. My advice: be sure to pack enough for a couple of days in your carryon - and don't accept an offer to check your carryon to its final destination!

I liked having the built in screen on the a321. Americans streaming service has lots to offer but the built in screens have more choices. I get why they want to just offer the streaming but I appreciate all the choices! There was a group number enforcer at the gate to make boarding more organized! She was polite but told the mobs that try to use the premium line to wait their turn.

I asked for upgrades to and from Chicago. I’m a gold member and fly for leisure fairly often. There are so many people looking for an upgrade these days that you’re rarely getting the opportunity

Everything worked the way it was supposed to. Bag transfer through customs and transfer to domestic was easy.

Snacks and food in general on US operated airlines is generally sad. American Airlines should learn from Qantas about food quality and service.

I will never fly American Airlines again. From the moment I checked in with the ticket agent to getting off the plane it was a disaster. The ticket agent was rude, hostile, and dismissive. Employees walked through the line at security forcing everyone to consolidate their belongings to one bag. I had a large wallet in my hand and was told I had to step out of line to put it in my backpack. They only allow you one bag to carry on without paying extra. At the time of boarding they announced that the overhead storage was full so even those that paid extra were still forced to check their bags. The plane was dirty, the service was slow, overall just gross. They don’t have WiFi or in flight entertainment so I paid the $20 to purchase the WiFi. It was worthless. I couldn’t stream anything, even music kept stopping to buffer. I understand it will be slower then on ground WiFi, but it was impossible to watch anything and a complete waste of money.

That the company charges for every little thing. Need a glass of water wait we have a fee for that...even if you are choking or having a coughing fit you get charged for water. If you choose your seat on the check in on the app, you get charge 20 bucks just for choosing your seat. The seats are so cramped with very little room. Low technology as well.

Way off schedule, way to tight of space, no way to sleep being such a late flight! As far as a beverage, they were out of everything!! Nice air line for quick trips,but to fly for 4 hrs at night from leaving at 12;00am, just impossible to sleep or really relax.

Boarding was smooth and fast. The travel time was a bit faster than predicted too.

With lack of reclining seats and no complimentary snacks or drinks at all, the comfort scale is lacking. Even the tray tables were replaced by miniature, undersized, pieces. Even with the discounted prices, it’s hard to want to fly with them again.

The plane was clean and refurbished. Modernized to a certain extent. We flew through rough weather, but the Captain kept us informed and overall, I enjoyed the flight. it was so nice to be in a plane that didn't look like a dump. My seat was fairly comfortable and I enjoyed the extra room between me and the tray table and I had better leg room. ( did not order food, though menu selections were not really to my taste and did not use entertainment offered )

Flight attendants seemed bored. Both didn't appear to want to do anything than the BASIC requirement of their job. The only reason our flight attendant smiled was because our flight was bumpy at times while she served and it was a bit comical. I had to speak first to the flight attendant when I boarded. I like the window seat, unfortunately the way the seats are placed, you are lower than the window and have to lean forward to look out.

Courteous staff Drinks provided

United Airlines has these television monitors directly in front of the passengers (the back of headrest of seat in front) that passengers simply cannot get away from... Napping or reading a book were hindered by the constant flashing light of the screen pressuring/asking passengers to pay to watch movies. Would have been ok if option was available to simply turn the headache-inducing thing off but it just played and played with the same ads over and over for hours... Not very peaceful.

The united employee starting with the man in the ticket area by the gate. He was VERY rude and unprofessional. He was talking to me like was a dumb person. He was explaining to me that I could only take one bag on the plane and it was how he explained it to me that I did not like. United needs to work on getting rid of people like him, they are agitators.

We can't control weather, but I wish we were given more options when weather deferred our flight to a different airport.

Flight time

Behavior of Stewardess Barbara extremely rude. I had gone to the restroom at the back of the aircraft at the beginning of service. I went up and wanted to sit on my 7C seat but she refused to move the cart to accommodate me to pass and made me stand at the back of the flight for 2 hour of the 1 hr 45 mins flight time

Friendly staff, quick to get on the plane after a long wait in the security line. TSA is very inefficient in SAN.

The cabin crew didn’t let us know we got free drinks on the premium seating area. Hey should invite us proactively to order our drinks. The menu does not contain info on what is included on the premium seating purchased. The seats are too narrow.

I dispatched a guitar in a hard case. It was labeled fragile and sent to a separate compartment. The guitar was poorly treated and the case was broken all over. Very disappointing. On top of that I had requested window seat and got the middle seat. No food was served and there was no movies to watch or anything, considering this was a five hour flight

The crew was lovely. Really nice, and did a wonderful job with the cart service.

We ended up being deleyed about 30 minutes, in damp weather. It's not like it was snowing. Not sure why it took so long. B/c of baggage charges now everyone brings a carry on. This seems to slow the process of boarding as know passengers are asked multiple times to check baggage (for free, which is the one nice thing) before boarding b/c the overheads will be too full. Group 6 which I was in seemed like it was just the rest of the plane. Super busy, took me forever to get to my seat all the way in the back. Why don't airlines reverse board? People sitting in the back should board first. I feel like this would save so much time.

Completely full plane. Ridiculously tight seat pitch. Overhead bins full. 45-minute delay for a dead-heading flight crew. Long wait for checked baggage. No beverage service because of turbulence. Flight crew out of position is a management problem, don't make it an inconvenience for a 737 full of paying passengers!

Premium economy is the way to go for a long haul flight. We were comfortable and able to get some sleep.

The crew on the way to Sydney was a little more present. There was always someone milling in the galley between the business class and premium economy cabin. The crew returning came through the cabin often and were attentive if you asked for them but you had to seek them out.

One of the flight attendants was nice.

AA is now trying to save money (presumably) by doing like Delta: forcing half of us to connect in Charlotte. Unfortunately, the Charlotte airport is not ready to accommodate so many people. The airport looks like it is being renovated, which is fine, but there is no tape/cones to mark off the renovated areas from the walkways. You literally walk through dirt and construction sites. I didn't even think that was legal in the US?! Anyway, maybe it will be worth it once the renovations are complete, especially if AA is going to use it as a hub.

I had a large wallet in my hand and was told I had to step out of line to put it in my backpack. They only allow you one bag to carry on without paying extra. At the time of boarding they announced that the overhead storage was full so even those that paid extra were still forced to check their bags. The plane was dirty, the service was slow, overall just gross. They don’t have WiFi or in flight entertainment so I paid the $20 to purchase the WiFi. It was worthless. I couldn’t stream anything, even music kept stopping to buffer. I understand it will be slower then on ground WiFi, but it was impossible to watch anything and a complete waste of money.

Everything worked the way it was supposed to. Bag transfer through customs and transfer to domestic was easy.

Snacks and food in general on US operated airlines is generally sad. American Airlines should learn from Qantas about food quality and service.

I liked having the built in screen on the a321. Americans streaming service has lots to offer but the built in screens have more choices. I get why they want to just offer the streaming but I appreciate all the choices! There was a group number enforcer at the gate to make boarding more organized! She was polite but told the mobs that try to use the premium line to wait their turn.

I asked for upgrades to and from Chicago. I’m a gold member and fly for leisure fairly often. There are so many people looking for an upgrade these days that you’re rarely getting the opportunity

That the company charges for every little thing. Need a glass of water wait we have a fee for that...even if you are choking or having a coughing fit you get charged for water. If you choose your seat on the check in on the app, you get charge 20 bucks just for choosing your seat. The seats are so cramped with very little room. Low technology as well.

BESIDES BEING IN ZONE 1 & HAVING A WINDOW SEAT? NOTHING. It probably happened by accident, because I booked the Shy before and that's all that was probably left.

Just build carry on to your flight fees. Making it an option is inconvenient. Besides business class who travels with just a personal bag? SERIOUSLY?

The united employee starting with the man in the ticket area by the gate. He was VERY rude and unprofessional. He was talking to me like was a dumb person. He was explaining to me that I could only take one bag on the plane and it was how he explained it to me that I did not like. United needs to work on getting rid of people like him, they are agitators.

The plane was clean and refurbished. Modernized to a certain extent. We flew through rough weather, but the Captain kept us informed and overall, I enjoyed the flight. it was so nice to be in a plane that didn't look like a dump. My seat was fairly comfortable and I enjoyed the extra room between me and the tray table and I had better leg room. ( did not order food, though menu selections were not really to my taste and did not use entertainment offered )

Flight attendants seemed bored. Both didn't appear to want to do anything than the BASIC requirement of their job. The only reason our flight attendant smiled was because our flight was bumpy at times while she served and it was a bit comical. I had to speak first to the flight attendant when I boarded. I like the window seat, unfortunately the way the seats are placed, you are lower than the window and have to lean forward to look out.

Friendly staff, quick to get on the plane after a long wait in the security line. TSA is very inefficient in SAN.

The cabin crew didn’t let us know we got free drinks on the premium seating area. Hey should invite us proactively to order our drinks. The menu does not contain info on what is included on the premium seating purchased. The seats are too narrow.

Behavior of Stewardess Barbara extremely rude. I had gone to the restroom at the back of the aircraft at the beginning of service. I went up and wanted to sit on my 7C seat but she refused to move the cart to accommodate me to pass and made me stand at the back of the flight for 2 hour of the 1 hr 45 mins flight time

I'm not sure where the problem was - whether with AA or Royal Jordanian, but my luggage did not make it to Amman with me. In fact, there was a whole group of passengers traveling on American from different US cities, switching to RJ in Chicago, whose luggage did not come on the flight to Amman. My advice: be sure to pack enough for a couple of days in your carryon - and don't accept an offer to check your carryon to its final destination!

I got there safely.

I will never fly American Airlines again. From the moment I checked in with the ticket agent to getting off the plane it was a disaster. The ticket agent was rude, hostile, and dismissive. One of the flight attendants was nice.

AA is now trying to save money (presumably) by doing like Delta: forcing half of us to connect in Charlotte. Unfortunately, the Charlotte airport is not ready to accommodate so many people. The airport looks like it is being renovated, which is fine, but there is no tape/cones to mark off the renovated areas from the walkways. You literally walk through dirt and construction sites. I didn't even think that was legal in the US?! Anyway, maybe it will be worth it once the renovations are complete, especially if AA is going to use it as a hub.
