Top tips for finding cheap flights to San Francisco

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest San Francisco flight deals.
  • If you are booking flights to San Francisco, be sure to look at flights to San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport, both of which are located in the San Francisco area. While most of the larger airlines fly into San Francisco International Airport, some airlines (such as British Airways) also fly from the UK into Oakland International. Other airlines (such as Norwegian) only fly into Oakland, but it is worth having a look to compare the prices.
  • Stressed about flying – look no further than San Francisco International Airport’s ‘Wag Brigade’. This Brigade consists of dogs (and now a pig) – brought in by the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – that wander around the terminals with their handlers to bring calm and happiness to nervous travellers. The animals, selected specifically for their temperament and suitability for airports, wear vests with the words “Pet Me!” written on them so you know who they are.
  • If you have a layover for four hours or more after your flight to San Francisco, take advantage of the time to venture into San Francisco and the Peninsula Bay area. This can be done easily on public transport – catching the BART train from the airport to, for example, Montgomery Street Station, will take you to Chinatown, the historic heart of San Francisco and Northbeach which, with its Italian influence, has a mixture of jazz clubs, galleries, restaurants and gelato shops. The trip will take you 30 minutes one way and tickets can be purchased at the station.
  • Fancy pampering yourself while you wait for your next flight, XpresSpa services, which exist at all terminals, are the perfect places to go. These spas offer treatments such as manicures, pedicures, massages and facials – a perfect way to treat yourself in between flights or before you head into the city.
  • For families travelling with kids there are a range of activities to keep them happy while in between flights. There are play areas in T2 and T3 or you can visit the Aviation Museum and Library which is free of charge and contains exhibitions about the history of air transport and the development of commercial flights. For children (and adults) who love aviation – this is a good place to spend some time.

My bag was lost with my medicine and I am very inconvenienced. I don’t know what happened, however I want you to do a better job on getting people’s bag back

Do not like the feeling of being in the basic economy. Everyone should feel good no matter what.

So so. Terrible aircraft choice for that leg of the flight.

Our seat tv didn’t work All the rest was perfect

delay several times and wait extra long to board. no entertainment service because there are problem for some rows. always encounter some delays for the last flight of the day.

Meals were adequate but could be better. Lots of movies, podcasts, tv shows. We really enjoyed using our personal headsets highly recommended. 15 hrs flight great to travel at night.

This was a Lufthansa flight. Disappointing main meal. Very rough over Canada and arrival at FRA. IFE was almost unusable.

the plane was old. the wifi didn’t work. the entertainment was boring and dated. the charging ports were impossible to find. i was mostly ignored by flight attendants that had no problem speaking to the man beside me. i got two drinks the entire time i was on the plane.

Quit making seats narrower and narrower. The guy beside me spilled over in to my seat.

Somehow I got “offloaded” even though I had my boarding pass and was in transit Food is horrible Staff were nice and cheerful No headphones were provided on 11 hours flight

Fight crew was not very attentive and the bastions were gross!

Our flight was great we left Kona earlier and got into LAX almost an 1hour earlier as well. LAX AA is in repair so to get out and found our bus to get pick up was a bit confusing.

Plane was good but was delayed. probably not AA fault but caused a 1 hour delay. Seating was cramped.

The staff were very helpful with lots of refreshments on offer. The toilets were clean. The seats were comfortable and entertainment was good. No complaints, it was excellent.

amazing! they were so kind and allowed us to sit on empty seats so we could stretch our legs and sleep good. Food is amazing as well plus dessert in the middle of the flight!

5 hour flight - full flight - not enough room to use my computer - slightly delayed - Admirals club was excellent quality food, drink made up for flight seating. No food offerred on flight, you ahd to prebook.

We experience delays on departure and connecting flights resulting in 14 hour to our next departure. We were accommodated with a night's stay but was only provided a 12 dollar meals accommodation. The airlines rules state.at least 50 dollars. In any case, it can not make up for the whole day missed on our vacation in Sydney Australia.

I can say I will not be taking this airline again any time soon. Seat were uncomfortable and too tight. Lack of chair screen and little overhead space.

American Airlines canceled the flight twice and was unable to facilitate a change of city for us after our travel plans became affected. We lost alot of money due to this and it seems like the airline was trying their best not to facilitate this. Mind you, I am a very loyal member.

I paid for premium economy but BA oversold the seats and we ended up being downgraded. Not acceptable given how much we paid for the flight. We were also separated to 2 different areas so not only did we not get the service we paid for, we didn’t even get to sit together. I’m not happy at this treatment by BA because of corporate greed.

Original flight was cancelled - After waiting 2 hours for new take-off times. Then had to stand in line for 3 hours, ending at 2:30 am - to be told, " No hotel rooms anywhere in Dallas". No way for me to get any rest at DFW at that time of night.

Flight was an Iberia Flight on Level but seemed to be outsourced to a 3rd airline - Wamos. Seating pattern was different than when booked, we waited on the JETBRIDGE for 45 minutes to board, food was terrible. Movie options were limited to about 20 and very old, TV shows was limited to about 15 and equally as old. Staff was fine but definitely the "b-team". Landed about 60 minutes early and waited on the runway for 45 minutes - despite that Logan Airport in Boston recently added new gates. Mediocre experience at best.

Improve food options. Do not charge so much for checked bags. As some who paid 990 EUR fir the round trip international flight it is horrendous to pay another 140 for 1 checked bag.

My luggage never arrived in Miami; still waiting a day later.

good service from crew. Before the would have an option between cookies or nuts as snacks.. Now, there are only cookies. too bad. People who can not have sugar don't have a choice.

Service and food are good. However, main cabin with the extra cost one pays could be better. I don't see any difference with the rest of the seats in the regular category. The seats are too close to the ones in front. For short flights it is Ok, but for long ones there should be more space.

As with every airline the seats are not built for tall people.

Fast check in, easy to navigate, crew were very good, the plane was delayed due to a previous flight and I found the cleanliness a little lacking but overall it was fine

I would not fly with BA again. Packed in like sardines, constant request to turn down air conditioning due to freezing cold for hours and the food was pretty to look at but tasteless!

Touchscreens do not work. WiFi did not work. Food is possibly the worst on any European airline. Drinks came by only four times on a cross-Atlantic. The plane was two hours late because—it was announced—Lufthansa didn't have enough large aircraft in their fleet to accommodate an on-time flight.

It was freezing in the airplane. Everyone was wearing everything they had with them. The crew acknowledged it was cold, but did nothing about it

The flight attendants were superb and the service was outstanding. Some passengers with small children were very rude and inconsiderate, kids were constantly crying and some were running around the aisle unsupervised.

Terrible. There was a rattling noise the whole flight. The internet didn't work after I paid. Boarding is very disorganized.

Horrible flight attendant in back of economy that screamed at me, have already reported to United. Horrible food - for Gluten free, why would you assume the person is vegetarian? I was served some kind of horrible curry bean paste and multiple cold rolls and soggy vegetables with no seasoning... um no!

The crew member put her luggage and boxes behind my seat so I was able to recline while the passenger in front of me did for 8 hours. My knees were forced against the seat for hours :(. Dude sitting next to me hasn't showered in weeks so I almost threw up.

Sorry my last review for prg to fra was for this flight. My prg to fra flight was fine but my second flight back to Washington DC was with a slow awful crew who wouldn’t come in a timely manner to take trash and take trash before serving coffee tea and was shoving other people’s bottles of water on me when we were not traveling together

Lufthansa was amazing. Definitely upgrade your seat if you can swing it - they take very good care of their passengers. Customs in DC is nothing short of a nightmare though. Stood in line waiting to go back through security for 30 minutes, had to RUN through and across two terminals to make my connection and only had 5 minutes to spare. Terrible. Very very poor coordination by the airport staff and CBP.

I was ver pleased with the service all the way through

I always try to book flights that don’t charge for baggage. Yet I was charged $75 for this flight.

Coach seats are too tight. Seem designed for small people. Food different but OK. Staff helpful.

my original flight was cancelled the previous day, and i was rescheduled onto this flight, which left much earlier in the morning, impacting my previous evening and requiring me to get up much earlier in the morning to get to the airport online. This practice happens way way way too much, and it seems on every airline, though AA is probably the worst.

The crew was very attentive and kept busy serving a variety of treats!

Offered vegetable curry when it was actually tofu which I don’t care for.

The flight was good the crew excellent…but take off delayed three hours!!!

Both mine and my husband's chairs were broken. Also it took 2 hours to get our bags after our flight which was wild.

perhaps eye contact with the cabin crew, instead of abruptness and an impatience to serve.

Not enough trash pickups throughout the flight. Everything else was great.

Overall good, the gluten free food is very hit/miss though and you must tell them you have an allergy days in advance.

All was good. The headphones they supply are of poor quality. The food is good but too much dairy.
