I paid additional $250/ticket to get these tickets so I can get to Lima earlier than 7pmso that my wife and I can enjoy our honeymoon. We did reach to Bogota at 1155am and we even tried to catch the 125pm flight from Bogota to Lima. but the staff was not helpful at all. I guess Avianca airlines crew needs to learn about hospitality and customer service. NO AIRLINE MAKES Involuntary CHANGES with out notifying customers. They proceeded to tell us that our only option was to stay the night and take another flight the next day. Us and 10 other people had to get into an argument with the staff in order for something to be done. The staff did not care about us or our missed flight/wasted money that we paid for the hotel at our destination that night. It took 30 minutes for a manager to give us the time of day. I tried to alert the staff well in advance that he would be arriving late but would be there in time to actually get on the flight. The staff was not helpful with this matter at all. They did nothing to accomodate these special circumstances that were beyond our control. Even finding a staff member that was available for me to talk to was a challenge. My husband’s flight arrived at the airport an hour before takeoff but nothing was done to try to get him on our flight home even though I had explained the problem 2 hours before that. As a result, he was not able to travel home with us on Copa and had to buy a ticket home on JetBlue. We will not choose Copa again."

We were never asked about the infant traveling until we went to check in at the desk and were told we needed to pay taxes for the baby at a rate of 10% of the cost of the ticket. But because we were doing it on the day of the flight, 10% was almost $200! We did not receive good customer service from staff, who simply told us we "should have known to investigate this." We have never been asked to do this when flying with a baby before! This was after an hour and a half of already waiting to check in our bags. We were waiting so long and dealing with this issue for so long that we almost missed the flight! A terrible experience. Also, the web check in line took even longer than the line of people who had not checked in online beforehand! It was so slow, it added to us almost missing our flight. It was a waste of time to check in online, especially since they gave us new boarding passes when we checked our bags in anyway. We also had trouble finding both of our reservations, even though we booked them together as a family, so we ended up with seats that were not together. When we had an issue, we were given an attitude by the staff checking us in."

Recently I have been flying economy and from the moment checking in to leaving the plane is a terrible experience. I have had on numerous occasions when checking in at the airport that I was lied to regarding the seat I was in. Or there was more than one person with the same seat. Food and the wine is awful. I would not even eat it if I was starving. When flying the overnight/ morning flight they leave the cabin lights on pretty much the entire way, their excuse is that they need to serve dinner, but who serves dinner at 0500 in the morning anyways. My last flight I asked if I could borrow a pen, and they told me they do not give out pens to customers. I will never fly LAN again except for business class. On American Airlines they are a lot more friendlier. Also a shame that they do not have a way of recognising the people that fly with them frequently, I have flown with LAN 10 times in the last 12 months. They have a bad attitude."

We did not have the extra money to lay out while waiting for a refund, and as a result had to miss a wedding in which my fiance was supposed to be a groomsman. I placed my cell by my Head whilei fell asleep at my acquaintance's place nearby the airport. I never received a call. At 6 am I had to the leave that apt as he had to go work. I went by a shopping plaza with my suitcase, I had called numerous times the tel number I was given but no answer. I managed to make my way to The airport at about 1045AM to check with The Dynamic support staff. I was told the passengers were sent to The Westin Hotel. I had asked to be placed in a taxi to go and at least shower. I was told to that this isn't possible at and I was told to wait at the airport until The 12 midnight flight. I was appalled. I said this isn't acceptable, I said there has to be a hotel room under my name as I had checked in Last night when flight was cancelled. I couldn't stay at the airport from 11am until 12 midnight, I wasn't going to be given the hotel option nor food nor taxi.. So I proceeded to rent a car and get an inexpensive hotel room 30 minutes from The airport for 2 nights as I didn't know if they would cancel again. I took the rental for one night only. I hope to get reimbursed for one out of these two Hotel nights and The rental. Friday I showed up at 8pm for The 12 midnight flight to find out it wouldn't leave until 6am. I couldn't Wait That long without proper sleep or shower so I asked to be moved to the next day's flight, hoping to have That one be on time. I took a taxi, paid $35 US to Get there to the same hotel to sleep and leave Saturday at the 12 AM flight. Saturday I showed up again at 730pm for the12 midnigflight. Guess what?? The same situation. No flight until 6am the next day. It's currently Sunday 12:30 AM as write this seating on The floor of the airport since about 8pm. Waiting to be checked in for 6AM flight... Long story but there's much to tell about this horrible experience...my vacation became a nightmare."

The airline did not offer to put us up at a hotel and everyone had to make there own arrangements for a hotel, pay out of pocket, in a foreign country in the middle of the night. on top of it all, I paid dynamic for my check in luggage when I purchased my flight, but since I was put on a flight with another airline I had to pay again to check in luggage. Very poorly managed airline."

The cops told me dynamics cancelled flights for weeks wihtout alternative plan during holiday season which led to a protest at JFK."
