There was no mention of this on my e-ticket. Had I been elderly or unwell I would have been very upset. Delta is really the poor relation and does not even begin to compare to the journey I had to Boston on Virgin which was fantastic. Very disappointing but I was delighted to get to Heathrow safely."

He asked why I wanted to change it and I told him my situation and he said hold on and would talk to a surpervisor. They completely waived my fee and only charged me $40. I cried tears of joy. Thank you delta for going above and beyond and caring about your customers!"

The in air entertainment that is customary with delta also did not work. It was by far one of the worst flying experiences o my life andonl had to wait in the airport for twelve hours until my next opportunity to get to my destination. And they didn't offer any food accommodations during my wait. All in all a 6 hour flight took 24 hours."

There was one helpful steward on the lax frankfurt flight but the rest of the staff was not helpful."

Cons: "We booked our group of four with Lufthansa, paying $300 more than equivalent flights on competing airlines, specifically because our 20 month old daughter fits within Lufthansa's age, height, and weight limits for using the bassinet. We have reserved our tickets and the bassinet over two months in advance, paying $35 extra per seat for these reservations, and even got an email that specifically stated "bassinet confirmed". On the flight, when it came time to install the bassinets, the flight attendant came to us, took a look at our daughter, and said that she will not fit in the bassinet, that she is too tall, and too heavy, and suggested that we should have checked the limits for the bassinet before coming on the flight. When we inquired as to the actual limits, she could not provide any numbers, only said that she could see that our daughter is too big for it. When the family next to us got their bassinet, it became very obvious that our daughter would fit in the bassinet, and we pointed out that she was well below the height and weight limits published on the Lufthansa website. Only then did the flight attendant admit that there were other babies on the flight, and they only had four bassinets on the plane, despite having 11 slots where bassinets could be installed. Our reservation months in advance did not matter - we did not get the bassinet. As compensation, we were offered some Lufthansa miles, or 50 euros for in-flight duty free shopping. However, we lost close to 1000 dollars as a group when we chose to fly Lufthansa rather than a less expensive airline. We were very uncomfortable throughout the flight, having to hold my daughter in my arms for over five hours. We are are still very upset that the crew blatantly lied to us."

Cons: "The lady who checks paperwork for animals at the front desk with Luftansa Airlines was uninformed and didn't know what she was doing as well as unnessarily rude. MY large dog was on this flight and after several employees had looked over my forms for him she came out nowhere and threatened to not allow my dog on board due to faulty and incomplete paperwork! I instantly went into a nervous condition of the sweats and scrambled to prove her wrong. When I asked again what was wrong with my (actually legitame paperwork) she just told me that at this point it didn't matter and that she would allow me to fly even though I was at risk of quarantine aty destination. I wasn't happy about this and asked again why there seemed to be an issue and she was unhelpful, handed me a business card for the USDA and told me that I was lucky to get away with her travel mercies for my dog. I had visited a USDA certified veterinarian and she hadn't given me the opportunity to prove this. I was confused and annoyed and while the other employees could see this about me, they apologized on her behalf. I really wish I had gotten this woman's name and work station so I could follow up with her and inform her on a few things. Other than that I love working with and flying Lufthansa airlines!"

Cons: "Though this isn't a complaint directed to Lufthansa specifically, it's worth mentioning that I had paid for a $700 seat and only had access to half of it. A woman who sat next to me decided to not only to claim the arm chair between us (which is not a huge issue), she also decided to have her arm take up over a third of my personal space. For 10 hours, I was squished and no arm push-back proved to be successful at reclaiming my seat territory. Luckily, I slept 75% of the time (though very very uncomfortably). I'm flying home on Wednesday and hope my luck will be a little bit better this time around."
Cons: "Our flight from Nairobi to Lusaka was cancelled for some reason and we did not find out until we happened to log into the website to double check our itinerary. They automatically rescheduled the flight only giving us 25 minutes to reach our next flight...impossible. so, after calling, we were re-booked again and forced into a 13 hour layover in Amsterdam. Our original flight plan had 4 hours. so, because we are a family of 7 with a baby, we had to buy a hotel room to rest, costing us a lot of extra money we had not planned to spend. We contacted KLM for help with the cost but were rejected. We also lost 5 bags somewhere between Chicago and Lusaka, but after 2 days, we received them."

Pros: "I can't even count the number of times I have flown KLM in the last 4 years. They are my airline of choice when I fly back and forth from the U.S. thru Amsterdam to Nairobi. This last flight I boarded and then 90 very exuberant girls from London board in all the rows in front of me. I was concerned it was going to be a less than restful flight. Just the opposite. As always the KLM crew took extra ordinary care of all of use. The service was wonderful and I scooted off the flight ahead of the girls to make my very short connection. The crew is what always make the experience delightful! Thank you again KLM."

The trip itself was amazing despite the sub par customer service we received from Aer Lingus that definitely put a damper on our vacation. Our flight on Wed July 19th from NYC to Amsterdam went off without a hitch until we claimed our luggage, my brand new suitcase was covered with stains. Very disappointing but we went on to enjoy our time in Amsterdam. The real problems began when we flew from Amsterdam to Dublin, first we were seated all over the plane and worst of all when we arrived my husband's bag was lost. We went to customer service and completed the paper work. Everything my husband had for the trip was in that bag. Aer Lingus only texted him once and after that he had to call every day to check the status of his bag. Instead of exploring Dublin, we had to spend Sunday shopping to get him clothes for the trip. No word from Aer Lingus. Monday morning July 24 he calls to find the status of his bag. It was found in Amsterdam and was to be flown to Dublin and shipped to our next stop in Kinsale. We arrived Monday evening to find that the bag had not been shipped. Again no word from Aer Lingus. My husband called to find out the status and made arrangements to pick the bag up when we were flying back to NYC. We were happy the bag was found but my husband still was without all of his belongings for our entire trip. On Thursday July 27 we arrived at the airport early to retrieve the bag before we checked in to our flight. We were dismayed to find that there was not a person to talk to but a phone on a column to call to get help retrieving the luggage. There was a queue at the phone with people ahead of us in similar situations. Finally someone came out to escort my husband to get his bag. We were traveling with our son, and again our seats were scattered about the plane. There was no one at checkin to help us, and we didn't get help at the gate. So we had to sit separately for the 6 hour and 30 minute flight. When we claimed our bags, my bag now had tears along with the stains. This was a brand new suitcase and it is now ruined. My husband says he will never fly Aer Lingus again and this was the worst customer service he has had in his life. The customer service was virtually non existent."

Cons: "The flight was an icy 61°F. My wife apent most of the 11-hour flight wrapped in 3 blankets. When meals were served, it took at least an hour to clear the trash. Seat space is minimal, but becomes completely intolerable when the person in front reclines their seat. Knees get smashed and the tray table becomes nearly inaccessible. This is a torturous was to spend half a day in a middle seat. This airline still uses the old-fashioned two connector headphones hinting at the age of the airplane. At least the tray tables weren't smelling of vomit and visually dirty as on previous flight. Crew didnt miss an opportunity on either of our flight to charge us for every little luxury, like a snack or alcohol and were fast to hawk their goods for sale. Truly annoying."

Repeated calls to ask about it resulted in one voice mail and no call backs. I had to rent a car and drive to the airport an hour distant before getting anyone to respond. It cost us (1) car rental, (2) lost day of sightseeing, (3) price of a new car seat, and (4) price of a replacement car seat when we returned home as the one we could find on the trip is not legal in the US."

The attendants managed to find me a veg meal, but not my husband. This was totally unacceptable on a 12 hour flight!!!! and we had trouble getting the meals on this return flight too, even though i had called and confirmed they were available. When we got the food the quality was poor. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the smallest seats I have yet to encounter, and I do a lot of flying. My back is still hurting."

I noticed that a number of international travelers had trouble negotiating the automated check-in process, though there was one staffer on hand who seemed a bit overwhelmed. The third leg of my trip, from Chicago to Portland, Oregon, was the most uncomfortable flight I think I've taken in my years of international travel. The seats were narrow and too close together. I was put in the last row on the aircraft, which meant that the seat wouldn't recline. The aisle was so narrow that nearly everyone going to the toilet, bumped into my shoulder. The seats were so narrow that I found myself in constant contact with the person beside me. The air crew were polite. The best part of the late night, four hour flight was it finally ended. I've flown lots of budget airlines, but this United flight had to have been the worst."
