Pros: Great airplane (787 Dreamliner), comfortable seats, lots of meals, no charge for beer & wine
Cons: IMO, the flight attendants should understand better english. It was clear they didn't understand much. I had to claim checked bags and recheck every flight segment. No abilty to reserve seats unless it was more than 72 hours before departing!
Cons: got severe food poisoning from the airline food.
Cons: The flight left before we get there. I had to book a train ticket to my final destination because I have to be in Fuzhou that day. I was told by the airline that I would be reimbursed the air fare from Xiamen to Fuzhou.
Pros: I liked playing tetris and pacman with a controller that was like that of a console. My flight had a lot of empty seats, and I noticed they staggered the seating so that there was nobody in front of me or behind me. Flight crew was genuinely nice and helpful even though we didn't speak the same language. The little cup holder was actually pretty cool. There even seemed to be ample leg room compared to other Chinese international flights I've been on. I've flown previously with china southern and China eastern, so that is my basis for comparison.
Cons: They didn't give me boarding passes for both flights (had a long layover in china). Other airlines printed both at the start of trip. This added quite a bit of confusion for me, seemingly unnecessarily. Also, I'm a bit disappointed in their free hotel room deal for long layovers. When I had a long layover previously with either china southern or china easter (can't remember which one), I got my own free hotel room, a free meal, and a free ride to and from the hotel. That was a real perk for my 12 hour layover. The deal with xiaman is you get a free hotel room, but you have to share it with a stranger of the same gender, and you have to pay for taxi to and from the hotel. Although you do supposedly get a free meal, I chose not to take them up on the hotel offer. Instead I took them up on their transfers lounge. This is a dark, quiet room full of dingy, dirty padded chairs and people sprawled out and snoring. I would have stayed more than 15 minutes if there were more phone charging plugs, but instead I went and ate mcdonalds and found a plug in at the kfc. Aside from all that, I would suggest getting some better Hollywood movies to choose from, as xiamen's competition has them beat there as well, in my opinion.
Pros: I liked the comfort of my location and seat
Cons: No wifi on a over 14 hour flight is ridiculous in this day and age. They didn't have wifi on both my flights. I would think twice before flying an airline so far without wifi.
Cons: Airplane was extremely hot, service was poor
Pros: Easy and quick boarding
Cons: We sat in the bulk head economy seats for the extra leg room, but instead it was used as a pass through for the flight attendants and for other passengers. This was an older plane and there wasn’t an aisle cross over, very annoying! The chicken pie was scorching hot and no serving utensils.
Pros: The crew carefull and the seat comfort
Cons: Cathay Pacific should be open direct rounte from SGN to MEL
Pros: The crew on Cathay Pacific is always first class.
Cons: These particular planes did not have outlets to charge my smartphone. Only USB chargers which didn't work very well.
Cons: Never on time. Almst missed connection. Planned on 4 hours. Downn to the wire. Nevermore.
Pros: the airline I've heard is habitualy late. It was on this flight.
Cons: Food was barely passable and coffee tasted like toasted wood.
Pros: Leg room was small.
Cons: The baggages are very very late.
Pros: The food was great and so was the entertainment.
Cons: The service was overall very good, but the attendants would come drop off the food and then not come back to pick up the trash for an hour or so at times. Other than this, I would recommend
Pros: This leg was continuation of flight that began in Xiamen. Same plane and crew. 787 Dreamliner layout is efficient, generous legroom and recline is better than American carriers. Crew works as team, fast and courteous. Very helpful and professional, Water offered frequently, trash pick up kept cabin neat, bathrooms always clean. Passenger announcements are clear and crisp is English and Chinese.
Cons: Really, no complaints. More entertainment choices would be appreciated however is not my priority.
Cons: The seats don't even recline, so I could not lie back to rest. The entertainment system was very bad, didn't provide earphones and could barely see the screen. I would not choose to fly this airline again.
Cons: Flight got delayed in Xiamen, miss the connecting flight to chongqing.
Pros: New and very clean airplane. Appears to be an inch or two more room between the seats on the 787 to and from China. Good boarding procedure.
Cons: The actual flights were ok. The experience at the airports was the reason for the below average rating. They are not set up to handle transit passengers. The signage in English is poor or nonexistant. The overall level of English for the airport staff is very poor. One goes upstsirs/downstairs nunerous times. Because the second portion of WF858 is domestic flight, the passenger needs to exit the terminal and re-enter as an international passenger. Numerous security and passport lines. I found the movie selection to be poor with few non-violent movies available. Will not fly this route again.
Pros: Boarding and deboarding seem to be so much faster in Asia based airlines than US.
Cons: Need more frequent beverage services. Also, we paid for more leg room, but it was still claustrophobic.
Pros: They are all polite!
Cons: Need to improve food selection.
Pros: Leg room was small.
Pros: Short leg room
Cons: Better snack and more leg room
Cons: Stellar service from check-in especially cabin staff was on point. Thank you PAL
Cons: Ventilation/in flight air conditioning, checkin lanes and waiting time
Cons: Food quality needs lot of improvement
Cons: Outstanding flight to Hawaii.
Pros: Crew was nice!
Cons: The beef with rice meal tasted weird.
Cons: The baggages are very very late.
