Pros: "Crew service was amazing - so diligent and courteous. They were incredibly well trained and I would rate their service level as being one of the most competitive within business class in Asia."
Cons: "Seats were reasonably comfortable but not as spacious in design as in other business class cabins, so that could be a concern for some travelers. Also, I was not able to convert the main menu of the entertainment system to my preferred language so it was a bit difficult to navigate (that being said, they provided a card that guided me, so it was still usable, and the entertainment selection was good!)."
Pros: "I didn’t get on this flight. Due to the departure at LAX. It would’ve been nice to know that this was a possibility before the arrival. Although the ladies at Japan Airlines were able to get me on a later flight, it almost didn’t happen. But the kept making calls to help me. I’m very thankful they were able to get me on ANA flight at 8pm."

I loved both the ground and flight crews. They're so patient and willing to accomodate us and help solve problems. I only wanted to suggest if they can give us more new or not so new movies to watch.

Cons: "The seats were quite narrow. Most of the rows behind had armrests that were able to raise and lower, but due to my seat selection, my row had the stow-away monitors in the armrests. The seats also didn't technically recline. The lower seat cushion merely moved forward, emulating a recline, but the seatback didn't actually move. It was not quite comfortable."

Also at check in we were inline for 2 hours just to let us know we couldn’t fly out they should have a Monitor saying “ ATTENTION PASSENGERS IF YOU DON’T HAVE COVID-19 TEST RESULTS IN HAND YOU CANNOT A BOARD.” So that people didn’t half to stay in line for so long."

Cons: "Despite checking in 2hrs or more before boarding, the China Airlines airport agent seated my wife and I in different rows without asking us what our seating preferences were. On the connecting 2hr flight from TPE to KIX we were seated 10 rows away from each other. We trusted the agent to be smart and professional and let him choose our seats not caring too much other than to be seated together and was grossly disappointed. He spent a good deal chatting with his female coworker when he should've done his job better. We won't be flying China Airlines in the future and will pay more for better service."

Pros: "Flight was delayed which made me lose my connecting flight to austin. At the counter I was told that they had rescheduled but that I was late. I was late because customs took long and the flight from Taipei was 30 minutes late. So it's not like I was wasting time. I did not appreciate that the blame was placed on me in the way the counter people communicated with me. I noticed that the counter woman, and the supervisor did not speak to me at all. Not even to say "let me find out" or "sorry for the inconvenience" but both did speak to other customers that were of Asian Descent. They communicated both in English and Chinese. The young woman that booked the flight for me (different one from counter woman) was decent and attentive. Sherry who was the third woman I dealt with when I needed to sort the baggage issue was very attentive even explaining to the supervisor why It was the second time I was back at their offices. She went out of her way to make sure I saw my bags delivered to the UA luggage. But again, I am very disappointed and can't help to notice that other passengers received basic cordial treatment when I was blatantly ignored."

In taiwan even they mark wheelchair assist in the ticket of my 73 year old dis abled mom they told us she is not in the list in taiwan we can wait for 1 or more hrs but they will close our gate in 30 min. So i haft to help my mom transfer to the gate. Very bad service especially to elderly and dis abled"

Two of the flight attendants that we had the displeasure to experience appeared irritated and when asked for a glass of water we had to wait 30 minutes (after asking three times). On top of that, once we arrived to Tokyo they lost our luggage. We kept phoning the Tokyo desk, but then the airline went on strike and our calls were left unanswered. Japan Airlines, which handles all baggage for all carriers in and out of Narita couldn't do anything either. When they were finally operational I phoned again for two more days with no offer of compensation for additional clothing that we had to buy. Finally on the 7th day they indicated they found the luggage and it never left SF!"

Cons: "1. Boarding and un-boarding should be by bridge, especially in sub-freezing weather! What is China Southern's problem with this? Every boarding/unboarding has always been by bus, and we had to be exposed to the elements. Since we were traveling between two warm places, we were not prepared to be out in freezing weather. 2. Layover in CAN was terrible: It was too long (10 hours); Guangzhou Baiyun had NO HEAT and so was very cold, too few charging stations, and very spotty wi-fi. I could not use my credit card in at least one place. At a McDonalds (probably a knock-off actually), the cashier was quite rude, allowing native Chinese customers to cut in line in front of me and unapologetic with their "no-credit-cards" policy. Customer service personnel need better training in international relations."

We had to wait 2.5 days for the next available international flight."

Person at wuhan boarding gate unable to understand 'boarding time' - kept telling me departure time instead, despite my repeatedly pointing at the words "boarding time" written in Chinese. Not too many important things to report at boarding gate - boarding time is one of them. This person didn't seem to grasp that concept despite the fact that she worked at the boarding gate. Overall a very unimpressive experience with little regard shown for customer service. Not sure how or why so many repspecavle and professional international airlines woiuld agree to partner with this one."

The 319's don't have individual movies but they played a nice kids movie on the overhead screens which was a pleasant surprise. And even though the flight was delayed I can't be too upset because they upgraded our family of 7 to economy plus ahead of time without me even asking (We risked not paying for seat selection and it worked out great!). Bags checked all the way through and no complications on any of our 4 international flights, that's good service!"

Cons: "On Sep 14th, I paid on your websites with the confirmation of three airline tickets from Chengdu China to Los Angeles. All the information I provide for each passengers are correct. However, due to the fact that you missed up three of the passengers information, they couldn't check in yesterday. The whole fight to LA was missed. As a result, we had to pay very high price to buy new tickets for the next available fight in order to complete the trip. I'v made four phone calls with your agent, with all records made. 1) The 1st agent confirmed that the information I provided were all correct for each passengers. So she believed there was nothing wrong and did nothing to help. 2) The 2nd agent realized the information were mixed up. But it was too late to let them check in. 3) The 3rd agent confirmed that the issue were caused by your system. He said only the supervisor could deal with this matter. He gave me a number which is not valid. 4) Finally, the 4th agent said you would contact me. No response by now. Still waiting for the response. Very disappointed after all."

I could go on for pages about the lack of communication from this airline and how they made me have to stay in a hotel because of a delay, but the less said the better. What exactly are the qualifications for being a member of the SkyTeam? On-board entertainment? I just want TIMELY, safe and comfortable flights. Frills are nice, but not necessary, and do NOT make up for not consistently delivering these priorities. Not allowing the use of cell phones in airplane mode on-board was mildly inconvenient also. Having more than one bathroom on the planes would also be appreciated."
