Very clean bathrooms, even after a 16-1/2 hour flight to Taipei it was still clean at the end of the trip. Food was good and plentiful, wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages offered. Came around at least three times on the leg to Taipei with food and water and when I wanted more water they gladly made sure I stayed hydrated on such a long flight."

However, i recieved an email from EVA airlines AND Kayak around 9 PM stating that my flight was on time... the airport was closed!! Terrible organization... overall a really bad experience."

Airline also forces you to take out your headphones from the TV set almost 20 minutes before arriving for some odd reason. And on my flight we had a two hour delay on the tarmac."

Luckily, the agents had not closed down yet. They attempted to check us in when they realized that the airline cancelled our ticket because our Jetblue originating flight was cancelled. The agents worked furiously to ensure we got on the flight, even communicating with the gate to let them know we were coming. They rebooked our tickets and got us on the plane. We are so appreciative of the EVA staff at JFK for saving our vacation."

I am only 5'4 and I found my knees hitting the seat in front of me when they were reclined which was a majority of the fight. It was very uncomfortable. Food and drink service was far and few between, I hate bothering them for water but there was enough available or disseminated throughout the flight. and Not sure if it was the food, the turbulence or a combination of both, but many people were nauseous and vomiting on the plane. There were not bags readily available for those people to vomit in and the back of the plane and lavatories ended up being out of service due to uncleanliness."

I've never seen an aeroplane boarded so badly and we ended up being some of the last people on the plane. Badly organised and just plain awful."

This is 45 min before my flight was supposed to leave and you cancel my ticket without informing me? I bought a new ticket from China Eastern. What is wrong with you? Cons: "Terrible service, 8 hour delay at the terminal before check in, they wouldn't tell us why our flight was delayed, didn't give us a new time, and we didn't know when the flight would be open to check in since they didn't announce anything or try to help us in any way. No sense of tourism industry, zero English, and ride personnel."

Cons: "Our flight was delayed by more than 3 hours. I knew about it because I got email messages from Kayak informing me of this delay about 4 hours before scheduled takeoff. But the airline officials did not tell anyone about the delay and the Gate kept showing the scheduled time. Even when we asked the officials, they would not say how delayed the flight was going to be, although Kayak knew about it. It was very insensitive on their part to keep passengers waiting indefinitely at the Gate when they knew all the while how delayed the flight was. I wish they would learn to be more honest with their passengers."

Cons: "Its just abundantly clear they don't care about their customers at all. The crew is rude and officious and blatantly would just ignore customers trying to get their help, they will force you to keep all electronics to be off for 30 minutes after takeoff and before landing (literally taking them out of your hands) regardless of if they are in airplane mode or even have a wifi signal or are just a kindle, they will not permit the use of mobile phones at any point in the flight and again will take them out of your hand even in airplane mode to listen to music or type notes etc., the food is terrible, they came through once with drinks on a 6 hour flight (thank god I bought some water in the airport beforehand), the plane was noticeably decades old with chairs and table trays falling apart, entertainment did not exist which was made all the more noticeable because your electronics were taken away. My bag was broken and an entire shell for it was missing by the time it got to Singapore. And Shanghai is the worst airport for a layover I've ever been in -- it's a dump of an airport, has very few food options, terrible wifi, you are blocked from accessing basic websites like Google and Facebook, and you have to go through an entirely new security and checkin procedure, which is onerous, even though you did one in Japan. The boarding is slow and terrible, and the flight was delayed sitting on the tarmac for 40 minutes without even an attempt to apologize or explain for the delay. And it seems this behavior and approach is just normal based on other people I've talked to. It's. it hard to make flying a little more pleasant with basic courtesies but China Eastern seems to find a way to take every one of those opportunities to male your experience worse."
Cons: "The flight was late for an hour and half to start with. Then after we boarded, we got stuck on tarmac for another hour and half. They claimed it was due to tower's traffic control. But Nanjing Airport was not that busy. Although it was drizzling, it was not windy at all. Soon after they announced that there would be delay, they decided to serve meal while the plane was on the tarmac. A new experience for me. On top of that, the passengers were noisy."

I was given a flight of another air company, so I had to get and register my luggage again. Given the time delay I simply missed the second flight. The company placed me into a hotel though."

Cons: "I didn't like that the airline would not check my bags to the final destination since the 23 hour 50 minute Shanghai layover was "too long" yet the airline refused hotel accommodation because the layover was not long enough (10 minutes too short). I didn't like that the airline put an overweight snorer in the window seat. I did appreciate the crew finding my wife an alternate seat. This guy was a spreader and was encroaching on my wife's space in an inappropriate way. The entertainment was dated and boring. I did not like the boarding process which was disorderly and chaotic. Little or no queuing and no zone boarding except for first and business classes. Economy was every man for himself. The situation at Shanghai Pudong Airport was also chaotic and little help from the airline navigating through a procedure we did not understand and were not forewarned about. Ditto checking in for our onward flight. Never again."

The frustrated passengers waited and was asking the crew to announce it so everyone would know yet they declined to announce. Everyone just waited even if the flight was late without no expectation on the delay and what caused it. The crew had poker faces and didn't know how to empathize with the frustrated passengers who were worried bec they might miss their connecting flights. There were no apologies and seemed that they didnt care at all, no answer and no setting of expectations theybjust kept asking us to wait whenever a passenger would ask when we will be onboarded."

Cons: "I was delayed by a connecting flight and there was no way to pre-check, notify the airline or get ahold of anyone to let this be known in advance. I tried customer service for airline, for travel agent etc. no way to get ahold of anyone. Thought I was there at the time of boarding, they would not let me board, because I was not within their 1 hour check in time so I missed the flight. Since connections to Korea are only once per day, I was delayed a full 24 hours and endured several more hardships that could have been easily avoided with some good customer service. Also, it was stifling hot inside the aircraft and the crew could not seem to help cool it off despite twice asking them to get me some air-flow."

We asked for a beer when the first drink service came around and were told only juice or water was available, while the next row of seats were served multiple beers without issue. After the service was over we rang the attendant button, it was immediately shut off and no one came to assist us. Rows ahead and behind us ran an attendant and were served. We asked again for a beer and were told they didn’t have it (these were all by the same attendant that was serving our area, who was liberally serving others in our area) We eventually got up to and went to the service station, where 5-7 other passengers were standing, helping themselves to beers in the carts and pouring themselves wine while flight attendants stood there chatting with them and continuing to ignore us. Eventually we were able to get ones attention and were able to secure two beers, after being told Mulltuple times that they didn’t have them, while other passengers were being served multiple at a time, or helping themselves to the beverage carts in the service areas. Staff was unprofessional and the entire flight was a battle for service. I have flown many 12+ hour flights and never had any stress or issues whatsoever, this was a new and frankly terrible experience. I am wishing my flight home was not with this airline, as I am afraid of a repeat."
