He neither said yes nor no, but rather completely ignored what I said and just poured my drink and moved on. I was a mildly annoyed, but figured maybe it was policy and he was shy and didn't want to debate the matter. When he took care of the older couple behind us, however, things got really strange. He asked them whether they wanted pretzels or peanuts, but they misheard him and asked for a ginger ale. I happened to know that he did have ginger ale, since my wife had just gotten one, but rather than just pouring the old folks a drink, he repeated himself. "Peanuts or pretzels?" They misheard again and asked him whether he had a diet ginger ale. Again, rather than just pour them the drink, he repeated himself. "Peanuts or pretzels?" This went round and round a few more times -- like a poorly designed computer UI that refuses to accept anything except the correct input -- before the old couple finally figured out the disconnect and picked their snacks before their drinks. Very weird."

This meant that in Chicago, after going through two other security checks that day (Zurich and London) and completing customs, I had to engage in a full Homeland security check. This involved removing protective covers from my laptop and phone that were hard to get off (not meant to be taken off regularly) and a full body search that I did not have to do in London. After many hours of traveling, this was very a frustrating experience."

As a result the hour flight was an hour and a half. The pilot kept us informed and it was a very smooth flight. So even though I was over an hour late arriving I so appreciated the communications and the safer route. AA seems to be communicating more than other airlines and I appreciate that. Flying is absolutely no fun anymore so you take what you can get for the positives."

I got on the plane, put my carryon under the seat in front of me and everything was great. I landed in Chicago, got to my gate, went to board and this very rude employee stopped me after I scanned my ticket and told me I couldn’t board with my bag. The EXACT bag I had boarded with in SLC. After harshly grabbing my bag and putting it in the carryon basket to check for size, she wouldn’t let me pass by her into the boarding bridge and told me I was going to have to pay. I tried explaining that I had asked I’m SLC if I needed to check it and they had all said no and that it fit under my seat. She said, “I don’t care what they said in SL, this is what I’m saying here.” And directed me to the front desk where I had to pay $50!! $50 for a carryon backpack that fit under my seat comfortably 20 minutes before!! Without saying a word (cause I didn’t want to yell at the poor girl behind the desk) I paid the $50 and proceeded to enter the bridge but before I passed through, the rude woman said, “have a nice flight ma’am” and scoffed!! An audible scoff. So I’m short, I hate American Airlines and I will do my BEST to not have to fly with them in the future."

The only thing they did was bring a snack cart over for us, and that got raided by children so many people didn't get anything. We had arranged transport from Orlando to Tampa for that evening, and our rides had to cancel because instead of 7pm we were now arriving at 130am. Your airline's mistakes put everyone at an inconvenience and we weren't offered assistance to fix it. My husband went to ask for help in arranging new transport home, but he couldn't even get to the front of the line. The customer service was terrible. We really enjoyed our first leg of the flight home with American Airlines, but after the second leg and all of the problems we had... we will not fly with American Airlines in the future."

It had high tech windows that adjusted the amount or type of light that could filter through the windows depending on the settings."

Regarding the previous AA agent who let them be carry-on, she said "shame on them." Complete opposite of the positive experience we had with her counterpart in Phoenix. ಠ_ಠ"

Red eye flight and lights were not dimmed, air flow was turned way down almost to the point of non existent so it was stifling hot. No help was given to the mother of the crying toddler who screamed the entire 3 hour and 20 minute flight (at least offer a free cookie or something to help sooth popping ears or anxiety for Christ's sake!). Absolutely WORST airline I've ever flown with and will NEVER fly with you again."

For the luxury of sitting next to her ( she is a minor) that's a extra $20 per ticket . I spent an extra $440.00 at the kiosk when I arrived to the airport. They'll tell you that you can save money by doing this at home ...its barely a savings . You will spend exactly what you would have had you flown American or United and significantly more than southwest. If you got the same quality, it wouldn't matter to me . But you don't . I'm 5'4" and my knees touch the back of the seat . Both flights the plane was completely filthy ( I have pics) . There are no adjustable headrests , the seats don't recline and it's like trying to sleep in a office chair . Horrible ."

Cons: "On arrival at the airport, help was needed to get the boarding pass but there was no one at the ticket counter to help. For that reason, Joe missed the flight. When the representative did get to the counter, she was of no help in helping him get to his destination. He was marked as a "No Show" and his reservation was cancelled. Joe was told his return flight was confirmed. He was able to make arrangements with another airline after spending another $300 to get to Orlando. However, when he confirmed his flight home, he was told it was canceled because he "no showed!" He talked with people in Orlando and I called the phone number on the email received from Spirit after he missed the flight. I spoke with 3 different people who only wanted to tell me their policy. I needed help in getting Joe back to Akron, Oh. They could only tell me that we would have to make a new reservation and pay even more money for him to get home. They did not honor the money that had already been paid to them. They did not help us at all. They could only quote their policy, which was a moot point by that time!!!"

Don't believe them when they say oh if your flight is going to leave at 6 p.m. and they say 6;25 p.m. On the flight back I made the mistake of connecting through Chicago. I watched while they steadily moved back the pushoff. When it got down to 30 minutes to make my Chicago connection I asked to be rebooked. They said "no you have plenty of time." I immediately paid for a one-way flight the next day on Delta, because I had a place to stay in Minnesota but not in Chicago overnight. An hour later after they had trapped everyone on the plane but me, the plane's departure time was pushed ahead to 9 p.m. And on the board it said "Due to Chicago Weather." I checked on my phone: It told me that the weather at Chicago O-Hare was 50 degrees and cloudy. Not even rain. They lie to their customers baldly. I can forgive the late takeoffs and I can choose to not accept connections but only fly them nonstop. But lying outright is unforgiveable."

Cons: "Since most people travel with at least one piece of luggage, charging money for the very first piece is absurd."

Cons: "On our return flight from Vegas to Seattle we were delayed over 3 hours due to a "missing pilot." Staff couldn't give us any details on what was going on and flight attendants were very rude. The attendants had attitudes and told us "I know you are upset but we are probably even more upset because we aren't getting paid right now." We as the customer didn't feel that we were taken care of in the situation."
Pros: "The flight crew was very nice and placed a high value on service."
Cons: "I didn't like that the bag fees where not disclosed in a more effective way I had a small carry on that I was charged 110 each way to take. With the price of the ticket plus the 110 fee I could have flown a non-discount airline with in flight Service. I was very disapponted. I really would tell people not to fly this airline in the future."
Pros: "I liked that this is a choice you can make for a cheap airline to get to a close destination."
Cons: "Everything is an extra charge including baggage that should be allowed and first come first serve for seating instead of paying 25 dollars or getting random seating. They were telling people that they were allowed only under the seat bag but no overhead (even though you were originally allowed to) and it was 100 dollars for the bag. The plane was delayed and no one knew why so they kept telling us that we were leaving later and later so I went to get dinner and all of a sudden we were boarding. They typed in our seat numbers and were delayed even more because there were people not from our flight on the plane and people were in the wrong seats. Everyone was angry and saying they will never take this airline again. I thought the whole process was ridiculous and definitely didn't impress."

Pros: "Horrible. They canceled my flight mere hours before we were supposed to leave by EMAIL ... then wouldn't give our money back. The weather was completely perfect (said it was a "crew issue"). Didn't give us another flight until 2 days later. We had to buy tickets on another airline. They didn't compensate us a single dollar"
Cons: "Worst flight experience in 30 years of flying"
Cons: "No flight. No help with substitutions. Missed a dear friend's wedding. The only upside is the opportunity to spread the word. Don't ever consider using Spirit Air."
Pros: "FLIGHT WAS EXCELLENT GOING AND RETURNING WE ARRIVE 25 MINUTES BEFORE OUR DEPART AND RETURN"

Cons: "Everything else. $8 min to choose your seat, $50-55 to bring a bag, PAYING for even a glass of water on a 3.5 hr flight. Your "bare fees" are not cheap enough to warrant all these extras. Not worth it. Also the seats are incredibily uncomfortable, and I am small and never think seats are uncomfortable on planes."

Cons: "I had to pay for my luggage on my return when it was the same luggage i had in my departure and return. I want a reimbursement!!. Seats were very uncomfortable."
