The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Pros: "Stairs cause me tremendous pain due to a 4 year misdiagnosed ruptured SI joint. Usually, we have no way of knowing that our flight will end with a downstairs walk rather than a ramp. I emailed American Airlines last week but hadn’t gotten a response yet so when they announced that we would exit by stairs, I was almost in tears as I gathered my belongings. To my surprise, American Airlines had a ramp for us to use. I don’t know it it was a coincidence or if they responded that quickly knowing I was on the plane through todays’s technology. I will be a fan and a customer forever."

They took our plane out of service (which I get, I would want brakes before takeoff), but then they never updated us on our status, until I physically went to the counter to ask an hour later. This is when they informed me that the flight was cancelled and we were rebooked on the 9pm flight (Mind you, this is 12:30p and I have a 2 year old with me). Luckily, I was able to book JetBlue and get home earlier (8:00pm)"

Boarding counter lady was obnoxiously strict about not letting our carry-on bags to be carry-on. She made us test them in the size device and said they were too big, even though they could easy be pushed into the space, and regardless of the fact that we just flew on an American Airlines flight with them as carry-on and were only on a layover with them! Regarding the previous AA agent who let them be carry-on, she said "shame on them." Complete opposite of the positive experience we had with her counterpart in Phoenix. ಠ_ಠ"

Cons: "The American Airlines staff assured us that if we got stuck in DC we would receive hotel vouchers. Not only did we not receive hotel vouchers but we were denied access to our rescheduled flight the next day and forced to rent a car to get us from DC to Massachusetts in time for our event. This "misunderstanding" cost us 2 days of our trip and an additional $500 all together. I have never been more disappointed by an airline in all my years of travel! If we'd been told the truth from the beginning we would of rescheduled the flight for the following day from our original destination and saved ourselves 2 headaches and a ton of money."

We were not served beverages because we were told that the ride www short. I observed the flight attendant talking abruptly to other passengers When we arrived in DC, we were told that another plane was parked at our gate. We sat on the runway for almost an hour. I was told when I arrived that my bag had been accidently sent to Charlotte. Unbelievable!!"

Spirit would not accept any bags, including heavy suitcases until 4 hours before flight, "due to just imposed TSA direction". Spoke with supervisor who hid behind policies and wouldn't even take into account the situation. They merely directed us to the cafeteria Down the hallway. I checked with a TSA agent and he investigated and said no such restrictions were communicated to any airlines. He said Spirit has been telling people that all day because they are understaffed. When we went back to drop off bags, we were only 20 minutes until the 4 hours and the agent almost wouldn't take them again until I spoke with a different supervisor again. When we got on the plane, crew didn't seem to know who was doing what. Announcement was made that if we are connecting through Baltimore to let flight attendant know so we can get gate information. When I told the flight attendant, she asked why am I telling her? And then told me to just check the board in terminal. I guess I interrupted her child counseling session with the mom ahead of us that went on the entire flight. It was one of the worst flights I have ever experienced. Won't be using Spirit ever again."

The baggage fees are insanely expensive and the seats are so close together on the plane you feel like you are sitting in each others lap. Considering how many passengers they have on the plane and how much money they make show how horrible the baggage fees are because clearly they are making profit. Also, you can't even get water without paying for it. Everything here costs, this is why I will continue to fly with Southwest and I will never fly with this airline again."

Cons: "Maintenance delay had to change planes eventually it was already a late flight. On top of that my bag was 53 pounds and on spirit that's over size so it cost me 85 dollars one way. The same for the trip home. And lastly the cabin crew wanted to charge us for soda and water after their 3 hour delay until the captain overrode them and gave them free as they should have. Frankly it was least they could do."

Cons: "never got there because we were told to leave the plane and get rebooked, checked bag was also removed. we were informed over 2hrs later that our bag was in carousel 13 and that our plane had left and was on it's way to detroit. they claimed that the sever weather caused us to miss our flight when it was spirit telling us to leave the plane to get rebooked and making us miss our flight."

Cons: "Our friend died, sadly, just 3 weeks before the 3 of us were to vacation together for his 70th birthday. We informed Spirit 2 weeks before the flight. However, it became clear that no one at Spirit talks to anyone else. At each leg of the flight (one stop, so 4 legs), we had to explain to crew that no, our travel companion died weeks ago & will not be coming, and no, he will not be needing the wheelchair that he had arranged. We "only" had to discuss the wheelchair 6 times; apparently, 2 crews at takeoff informed the landing site it was not needed. And 2 didn't. It made a sad situation maudlin. This is separate from Spirit's shabby business model; appear to charge less than others and make it up in fees. Really, a boarding pass is an "extra" one should pay for? Try getting on a flight without one and you'll see how "extra" it is."
Cons: "TERRIBLE SERVICE!! The flight was delayed @ Phoenix. Flight was supposed to leave at 12 55 am and it finally departed until 2:23 am. The representatives @ Phoenix told us we wouldn't have ANY issues with our connecting flight to FLL as they would use the same aircraft When we landed Dallas, they told us our flight to FLL was waiting for us which was a complete LIE. The representatives at Dallas were disengaged and didn't seem to look for options to get us out of there,. Finally, a representative came and told us we had 2 options: OPTION 1: Stay in Dallas 31 HOURS!! and take the next flight to FLL (no hotel arrangements were offered) or take the next flight to Orlando and move ground to FLL. Very disappointed with your service. NEVER FLYING ON SPIRIT AGAIN"

Cons: "THE ENTIRE CHECK-IN PROCESS!!! Spirit was having a BAD morning. The Kiosks weren't working and they had a RIDICULOUS line. I arrived at the airport, pre-checked in, just needing to print my boarding pass. After finding out that none of the kiosks were working I had to stand in a line that passed TWO OTHER AIRLINE DESKS and weaved through the entire Spirit queue. I would have missed my flight had I not had an extremely helpful airport employee (I think people called him Paps) who rushed me to the front, had them print my pass, and helped me get through security quickly. The guy was a hero. The airline not doing anything to assist their passengers was a nightmare. Never flying Spirit again."

Pretty soon they may charge for wearing shoes or a shirt on the flight. We all need cheap flights sometimes but fliers be aware there is a reason."
