The breakfast was excellent. A great way to start the morning. I loved that it was served to you not buffet style! Having hor d'oeuvres set out after 5pm was a great touch. The room and house felt home like. The guest that took my water from the guest provided refrigerator.
The breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful and pleasant and friendly. There are a few reasons I will not go back ,first off for 4 nights I didn't sleep more than 2 hours each night. This was due to the air conditioner in the room. It was like sleeping next to a F-16 engine at full throttle even though the fan was at its lowest setting and the vents were not adjustable so the cold air was blowing on my face the whole time. Also around the pool there was not enough shade if you wanted to get out of the hot sun but still enjoy the pool, and the entrance is too close to the ramp coming off I-240 so it's difficult to get over and slow down and the entrance needs a larger sign. Your online information is very misleading because your hotel is not in walking distance to any shopping or restaurants .
Clean, well kept, safe, and convenient. Breakfast could use some fresher, healthier options.
Room was clean and good size. Bed was very comfortable after a long day sightseeing. Bathroom was very small.
staff was nice, room was clean and comfortable. WiFi was good.
Clean, very comfortable beds and pillows, helpful and courteous staff, good, choices in included breakfast. 2-3 miles to closet restaurant.
Website said breakfast was included, but found out after arrival that it was not.
Location was accessible to Interstate. Staff had directions printed for everything. Very nice place, easy access to auto. No oatmeal for breakfast. Got Raisin Bran second day after asking for it. Internet very slow! Did not get Holiday Inn points because I booked through you.
Room was spacious and clean Our room faced the lobby. If the curtain was open you can see people checking in and they can see you
Whats not to like?! Loved this hotel and staff Not a complaint one
Clean rooms, nice amenities. Wish they had a complimentary breakfast for the price.
I liked the bed, pillows, selection of TV channels, and that my room had a balcony because it looked cool. I didn't like how loud the atrium was in the mornings because my balcony did open up to the atrium. Had to pay for breakfast but it was good.
The staff was friendly and gracious. They gave my daughter and I, arriving very late, a room that had a location that was so quiet since we were going to sleep in the next morning. The breakfast buffet staff was very helpful.
Cabins in the woods, felt like a return to summer camp. Wonderful breakfast! Beautiful surroundings. If you're ready to unplug, rooms without tv or wifi!
Beautiful gardens and great activities. The cottages are great retreats and very quiet. Very close to downtown Asheville and French Broad River, but is far away to avoid traffic and noise. Wonderful and courteous staff. The facility is still a work in progress. The rooms require remodeling soon.
Good location, clean , quite, lots if good places to eat close by, plus outlet mall across parking lot
Great location. Very happy with the room and customer service. Great breakfast. The walls are a little thin
Have stayed here before. Could tell it was recently updated. Rooms decor and comfort have been improved. Much more comfortable. Complementary breakfast is terrible! Precooked sausage was still half frozen. Eggs were either over cooked on the sides of pan or runny in the middle. Waffle batter was like sludge and cooked like sludge. Stick to the fruit, toast and bagels.
Location Breakfast awful. Bad coffee
Tried to find an economical comfortable hotel. They surpassed all expectations. Will definitely stay here again. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Thanks for a great weekend.
The front host was so helpful and friendly. I wish I remembered her name. Young woman with long strawberry-blond hair. She made us feel welcome and took the time to suggest places to visit, great restaurants to try, etc. Honestly, the nicest host/front desk staff during this trip. We stayed in 6 hotels in the past two weeks. I also loved that they mostly put guests with their beloved dogs on the first floor. At another hotel, I had to ask for the room to be changed, as it smelt like a wet dog. He also gladly moved us and told us most hotels set aside rooms for guests who don't have dogs or travel with them. I figure many who travel with their beloved dogs also let them sleep on the beds. I'm happy that hotels are pet-friendly because we traveled with our daughter, her husband and their puppy, at 2 of the hotels so we had to find hotels that we pet-friendly, but I was happy to be placed in a room that wasn't.
Staff was friendly, good breakfast, amazing price with location easy to get to from the highway and a quick drive to downtown.
Great for those traveling with pets. Breakfast is very basic but serves its purpose. Bonus is 24 hour availabilty of free coffee.
Nice staff, clean, free breakfast Location was ok, would have liked to stay a little closer to Biltmore and downtown as opposed to a rundown mall.
Breakfast Bar Elevator is major clunky and slow. Bathroom way too small for king bed room
The staff was friendly courteous and helpful I was very impressed the bartender Terry couldn't have been nicer and more polite what a great group of employees there!
Staff was extremely accommodating and helpful! The food while not complimentary was still great. The pool was very well kept as was the work out facilities. Enjoyed the whole experience. The price of the hotel, while definitely competitive with the rates at some of the higher end hotels, I think is just a bit over the top for weekend rates. After a week of staying at the hotel I felt we should have received the same rate for extending our stay just one more day. Maybe in the future the hotel will be able to allow their employees to offer this option. I would love to see a refund for the difference in cost...
The front desk employees are very friendly and polite, the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. The bathroom was very clean as well and water pressure was perfect.
Easy check and out. Quiet
The free shuttle into downtown Asheville was a really nice touch & the shuttle driver was really knowledgeable about where we should go!
Everything was perfect. Loved the shuttle to downtown so we didn't have to drive. Loved the staff, very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. Loved the pool (it was both indoor & outdoor) and hot tub
This hotel is advertised as downtown and is not downtown or in walking distance to any downtown activities.
Our room was very spacious and clean! We enjoyed having the bar downstairs and the rate was very reasonable! We will return!
nice room and disable parking available The view from room was an old out of business motel
This is such a beautiful hotel...the perfect hybrid of a hotel and B&B. The rooms are all suites, so it's like having your own quaint apartment. The breakfast and snacks/wine in the afternoon are an additional treat! Love it. Since the floors are hardwoods, which is lovely, they are loud. You can definitely hear the folks above you if there is indeed someone staying upstairs.
I thought the staff was very accommodating and really laid back. Also it was close enough to downtown to be walkable without the noise and traffic. The room was great. Loved the architecture of the building and the fact that it felt it's age. No. Everything was just wonderful!

I loved that it felt especially extravagant and homey at the same time. This is certainly the nicest place I've ever stayed in, and I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and laid-back the staff was despite how 'fancy' the hotel felt. Nothing! I loved it all!
The very competent and friendly staff. The breakfasts. The coffee. The wine and cheese (etc.) tea time. The spacious, private rooms; in our case, a suite! The nicely proportioned public spaces. The garden in back with the fountain. The veranda. The bed was a bit hard, compared to our own. Our short stay; would have preferred one more day.
Location; character; size; staff Floors creaky; show could have been better.
Great hotel although everything in this town is overpriced. Brand new and very clean Staff sent us to someone else's room and barely apologized for it. They seemed like it was no big deal when we explained we walked in on someone.
Clean, beautiful finishes and interior. Free wifi and parking. It seemed as though the laundry facilities two floors below was shaking bed during the spin cycle. Once we called the front desk to let them know, we didn't feel it again the rest of the night. We could also hear the upstairs guests loudly walk across the floor and could hear them talking although they seemed much louder than the average guests.
Great rooms, very clean and spacious, seemed like it was brand new! Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and the toiletries were very nice - they even gave you makeup remover wipes! The breakfast was good, and always nice when it's included! We were 5 minutes drive from anywhere we wanted to go in downtown Asheville. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was great that they also had a shuttle to downtown that dropped us off right in the center and picked us up when we were ready to go! Even the pool was very nice and refreshing. All in all, a great place.
Convenient No complimentry breakfast.
Nice lobby For over $300 a night, I expected a larger room, with typical hotel amenities (i.e. microwave, refridgerator). I've stayed in much larger rooms in other Double Tree Hotels. This Double Tree did not offer a free complimentary breakfast which should be expected with a $300 price per night.
We stayed here because it was close to the Biltmore. Also, Biltmore village where there are shops and places to eat.
The lobby is inviting and the smell of cookies is wonderful. The bathroom shower was a little moldy and we only had 1 washcloth.
We like the clean room and friendly staff. The pool and hot tub were great! The weekend breakfast buffet was very good. It was close to restaurants and shopping. We would come and stay here again.
There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room, which was unexpected and handy. Everything was clean and super comfortable. The staff was very friendly!
Comfortable beds and clean sheets. No vent fan in bathroom. Breakfast was not prepared for full hotel number of guests, had to wait 10 min for eggs. Say you are green hotel, but don't have enough towel racks to hang up towels instead of leaving them on the floor. One elevator not enough for whole building.
First, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary coffee was the best I've ever had at any motel but the cookie was not. Because our room was on the top (5th) floor right next to the elevator we were a bit apprehensive, but we heard nothing. It was very quiet. The beds were also quite comfortable. The breakfast was surprisingly well done with different styles of eggs offered each day of our four day stay. The staff was attentive and there were always clean tables available. The desk clerk recommended a NY style pizza restaurant and his recommendation was spot on. It was just a small hole-in-the-wall but the pizza was great as was the wait staff. Anywhere you wanted to go, just ask the clerks. They provided written directions with an address and a map. And the motel location was just about 10 minutes from anywhere: downtown, visitor's center, Biltmore mansion, Blue Ridge Parkway. We were very pleased overall. The heater/AC unit in the room was controlled by a thermostat on the wall that was very difficult to see and even more difficult to use. It was hard to get it to respond and harder to find a comfortable setting. I guess it was one of those "smart" thermostats but it sure out-smarted me.
Nice outdoor seating for sitting and talking, very comfortable beds and nice linens!, good location, shuttle is a good idea even though it was out of service the night we were there. Very nice hotel!
Had ants in the room. The front computer was outdated and could not be used to check email. They need to update the Browser. Could not wirelessly print out tickets.
Location was good, easy to find not too far from downtown. First room reaked like cigarette smoke and febreeze. Second room bathtub would not drain. Above ankles in water. Complained. Was told it would be fixed while we were at dinner and came back and the bathtub was still full.
the mattress and pillows were too soft, and left us wanting for a better night sleep.
It's clean, well appointed, nicely decorated, and all amenities and facilities were of superior quality and construction. The free breakfast was surprisingly very good, and the staff was warm and friendly. I will stay here again, especially given the price. One drawback is the location...a few blocks away from the action and attractions of downtown. Shouldn't be a problem for anyone but the very infirm or physically challenged, but it is a consideration. A nearby homeless shelter was also a strange neighbor...but...its Asheville. The city population seems to be mostly homeless people so...
Great breakfast. Great beds. No rooftop bar.
