I was in Knoxville Tennessee. My truck is broke down so I need to rental car from Knoxville TN to Virginia. I booked the truck Toyota Tacoma online on July 23, when I come to the property for pick up, The guy is there he said all sold out, what a joke, even I talk to someone the lady was talking to me after I booked online. I also called them to I booked the truck which is a Toyota Tacoma, I need to confirm, she’s said you all confirmed and pick up around 12 o’clock. Then I got Chrysler passenger van white color it is so dirty. It’s dog here inside a lot, no clean no vacuum anything. I had called 2 weeks earlier to confirm what documents were needed for the rental, and when we showed up, they told us we did not have what was needed and that what they had told us by phone was wrong. we ended up not being allowed to rent the car - and they were really not helpful at all to solve our case (what was needed was a translation of our driving license). We ended up figuring out by ourselves how to get this document in a short time, and rented a car in another company. I would never recommend Avis!Reviewed Jul 25 2024

There was little I liked about this rental experience, but the worst part was definitely the car itself. It reeked of cigarette/cannabis smoke, it had cigarette burn holes over every seat’s upholstery, I had to throw away trash left in the back seat, wipe down all the finger prints and other smudges and streaks throughout the car and it’s screen, and clean some sort of food that was smashed into the rear seat upholstery. It made for a gross and smelly 12 hour drive. I have been traveling a lot for work, and using Avis as my go-to car provider, but I have lost faith based on this and other experiences with the company. (The exception is my local Avis store, run by Abdi, who was the reason I made Avis my provider of choice.) At this point, I intend to use other travel arrangements that will avoid needing to rent. It’s unfortunate this means Avis, intermediaries (like Kayak.com), and especially Abdi (whom I quite like) will all lose out.Reviewed Jul 24 2024

My vehicle was crashed and was not made aware. I saw it before leaving the location. They promised to change it but never did and said no vehicles were available. They did not call me back I had to call them back on three occasions. They offered me no discounted price.
