I reserved two rental cars under my name back in April at pretty good rates.....when I got there for the pickup in Florence they told me that I couldn't do that....so had to put under my wife's name at the "day of" rate which was almost $1000 more. The pickup and drop-off were both easy. There was damage to the vehicle, however, that had not been documented. The gas tank was also slightly less than full (noticeably so) but the gauge read full when I returned it but I was charged for refueling for some inexplicable reason. I had to call and have that charge removed but I won't rent from Avis again in the near future based on these experiences.Reviewed Jun 11 2026
