Long wait! Wrong info!
Pros: Waited an hour in line for car! Rep at 800 told me I had to which was wrong as I am preferred!

Cons: I called them to add baby car seat which they did however the location said they don't carry car seat, I had to run around find another rental car company.

Way To Go!
Pros: The knowledgeable personnel & thou I didn't always like the answer I received, they had one.
Cons: I wasn't advised in advance that at the airport rental, I needed to have a credit card & not a debit card to rent. The attendant did not advise me that an alternant Avis rental facility a debit card was acceptable. I found this out on my own by calling Avis customer service. Also after waiting in a long line the attendant was not accommodating for me to come to the head of the line if I should obtain the required credit card.

Cons: I paid a premium to drop a vehicle off at a different location than I picked it up at ($122 for a one day rental). The vehicle was a crappy Kia Rio that had a super low and uncomfortable passenger seat (my husband is 6'5" and couldn't see over the dash...) Here's the kicker.. I ended up driving the EXACT same car back for the return part of my trip... dropping the car at the original pick up location. So, essentially, I paid a premium to drive a crappy car for Avis back to it's original location. The car also smelled like smoke...

Pick-up was great, drop-off was way too slow.
Pros: I liked walking to the car without having to stop at the counter. Because there was someone having trouble checking out at the exit gate, they opened another gate for me. Check-out went very smoothly, otherwise.
Cons: Drop-off was apparently understaffed and it took too long for the person to come check my car in. They weren't apologetic or even very friendly. (Atlanta is becoming like New Orleans - you have to expect that service providers will have the "you get what you get" attitude.)

Car rental is like any other retail business...
Cons: And such your frontline employees set the tone. I am not sure if it's the least paid employee cares the least or what, but the young lady that assisted me was non accommodating and rude. She persisted on being engaged with Facebook at her work station on her phone while trying to complete our transaction.

2 hrs wait to pick up the car!
Pros: Atleast they have me a car
Cons: Misleading information. Added optional stuff and charges without my knowledge. Agent told me that it was for fuel and when i return the car full with gas it will be reimbursed, thats what i did nut only to find out that it was not the fuel charges it was something additional they added without telling me. When i had clearly declined all coverages and additional stuff. Misleading infromation tricking me to extra charges. Don't think i am going back to avis for rental.

Avis regularly disappoints
Pros: The offices are close to me and that's why I always book with them.
Cons: 3x screwed by Avis. One of the times I paid $125 extra because their computer messed up and said I got a car with a full tank of gas when in fact it only had 1/8 of a tank when I picked it up. At drop-off, the guy told me I had three options: 1) Fill the gas tank up to avoid being charged $125 2) Wait until it's figured out but then pay extra for the TIME (at $125/hour or $169/day) 3) Pay now try to get my money back. So a normal person would think 3 would be fine. Avis is reputable, right? Well I have called probably 10 times and even went to the 1901 L Street NW Washington DC location to speak with the manager who told me that $35 credit was "ALL HE COULD DO". So they stole $95 from me. After this review, I'm going to email the president of the company -- maybe that will get this sorted!

Watch those blind charges!.
Pros: Dropoff was quick and could not be easier. Very polite service on this end.
Cons: Every add-on that could be added on was done so. You must OPT OUT of those charges. Taxes are unavoidable, but they will add on the maximum insurance possible. Read carefully before you sign. I could also do without all the agents chatting personally between each other during the entire transaction. Very unprofessional. Given the location and quality of the staff, this will likely not change.

Pros: Avis customer service representative were kind and professional.
Cons: We returned the vehicle according to the specifications and experience no problems. However, in review of the fueling prices for returning the vehicle are ridiculous.

Dirty little Ford
Pros: Gas mileage
Cons: Didn't have my car ready. Took an hour+ to get the vehicle and when I did get it, it was filthy.. poor attention to detail. Also I felt like I was being lied to. If you are going to go get the car; GO GET THE CAR! Don't make me wait!!

quick easy at ATL
Pros: Exceptionally quick and easy booking and pick-up at ATL. Easy drop-off after one-way trip.
Cons: Car worked well except for windshield washers, which were either empty or frozen. Fortunately, this was only a minor problem under the existing conditions.

CHARGED FOR 2 DAYS. HAD CAR FOR 4 HOURS.
Pros: The gentleman at the checkout was amazing (wish the overall experience was better )
Cons: I was charged for a two day car rental, when I only had it for a few hours. It has injected my soul with the fear of trusting this car rental agency ever again. *Thank you so much for making me feel comfortable when traveling (*sarcasm)

Misleading and Poor Business
Pros: I flew into Atlanta because we were adopting a baby girl and she was waiting for us in the nursery at the hospital. The Avis gal knew this and was excited for us. I reserved a mid-sized SUV and was told a Ford Escspe or similar for $172.00 for three days. This gal said she had an Equinox and asked if that would be on. I said yes because it's still an equivalent to the Escspe. I've had both as company cars before and they are basically the same thing. The problem is I guess it was an 'upgrade' but she didn't disclose it this way. Before I left the ramp I noticed I was charged close to $500.00. I went back in to try and get it corrected and she said she's only discount $100.00. I told her I was to get an Escspe and showed her my reservation but it didn't matter to her. She told me they didn't have an Escspe for me. I told her I saw over 20 Escspes parked around the Equinox. It was a terrible experience and I'll never do business with Avis ever again. I hate shady people and businesses. P.S. Disregard the typos... Thx auto-correct. Lol

Cons: Not much to say, it's just a drop off. It was fine.

Customer Service & Car Issue
Pros: The pick-up process was frustrating and the customer service I received initially was not good. However, the manager who stepped up to help me resolve the issue was very helpful!
Cons: The initial customer service rep who helped me was rude and not helpful. She barely said anything to me, and didn't ask me about whether I wanted the additional services/insurance. She simply marked decline and told me to sign. She also didn't give me the total amount that I would be charged and I had to ask her 3 times before she responded. Finally, when it was time to go to the car, I asked her a specific question about the car I was getting and she answered affirmative. But when I went outside, she had given a much larger vehicle that was not anything like what she said, forcing me to go back in and grab a manager to resolve the issue. Once I got the car and drove off, I realized the car was not clean and the tire pressure light was on, forcing me to find a gas station and put air in the tire. Upon returning the car, the staff member in the garage couldn't find the reservation, so I had to go back into the car rental terminal to return the car. Overall, this was a very poor experience.

I declined insurance that was added anyway -
Pros: easy pickup/drop off
Cons: I have insurance under my credit card as well as my own personal insurance that will cover me on a rental vehicle. I declined the coverage but was charged it anyway. In fairness, I verbally declined it but signed off on it anyway apparently. This was very early in the morning and I was in town for a family emergency, so I wasn't thinking as clearly as I should have. As others stated, the rental ended up being more than DOUBLE what I was quoted via kayak. I feel a little taken advantage of, but my stupidity for not checking it over. I had assumed the amount on the hold was for rental charges and a percentage of the rental - not the grand total with the insurance tacked on. I WILL not use AVIS at this location again as I've had no issues with them at other locations in the past.

Pros: Great customer service and easy pick up & drop off of cars
Cons: Avis had long lines because they'd ran out of cars the day before due to Delta system failure which canceled a ton of flights. I was able to get a car based on my reservation but had to stand in line for about an hour waiting to get to the counter.

Abandoned at ATL by Avis
Pros: Advantage Car Rental
Cons: I have excellent credit in the very high 700's. Because I only use my debit card and do not travel with a credit card, your company would not rent a car to me. I had secured a proper vehicle reservation several days earlier and your company left me stranded at ATL. Advantage Car Rental rented me and excellent vehicle without having a reservation, and beat you guys hands down. I will never even try to use AVIS again, nor will I recommend.

Cons: have never taken insurance in my lifetime. Avis added it to my bill and when dropping off in Newark, they said I would have to take it up with Atlanta.

Cons: I cancelled it upon arrival and booked a Payless car which ended up being $500 cheaper, even tho the Payless car was a standard SUV and the Avis one was a smaller SUV

Pros: Pick up area was excellent at Atlanta Airport but Drop Off location was not as easy. It was dark at the time & we were not familiar with the Cleveland area. Drop Off is an industrial area not within Airport Property. We were using Goggle Maps & it was confusing. Just barely made grace period due to construction areas in Tennessee.

Pros: gas mileage.
Cons: The rental price for the time rented was not fair or equal, being that the car was supposed to be returned to a Northern location. Driving a front wheel drive threw a storm with my wife and two young boys. After calling Avis to inform the return station of drop-off they were closed at 7:00PM. This was my first time renting a car and the experience was not good at all. After witnessing the price my family paid for a day rental is equal to a price of a month rental I felt as if I was robbed. this will be my last rental, we as a people will never prosper if these are the standers we live by.
