Book Avis car rentals in Providenciales

Cons: The reservation was not honored at Avis counter. I was told that it was not made for a car but was made for a two wheeler scooter! When complained to Kayak, I was advised to contact Avis.

Cons: We searched Kayak for car rentals at the Providenciales Airport and booked an Avis car. When we got to the counter, we were told that the rental was for another location, even though we specified the airport. Another Avis customer who was there had the exact same experience. We were still able to rent a car at the airport, but the price was about $45 more because of higher airport fees.

Cons: reservation messed up by Kayak. We reserved a car but when we checked in, the Avis representative told us we had reserved a scooter from a different location on the island. Obviously we did not reserve a scooter for 2 people and 4 pieces of luggage. We didn't appreciate the Avis reps' attitude that WE reserved the wrong thing when it was obvious it was a Kayak glitch. Even when a man next to us in line said he had the exact same issue reserving thru Kayak, the rep acted like we had made an error and gave us a bit of an attitude. Not a good start to the vacation

Cons: I rented a Special - Generic Specialty car or similar. Unlimited Free Kilometers Included. Manual transmission, 5 people, 5 bags. for 8 days @ $288 They said that Kayak system reserved a Scooter not a car, which is total Bull, as the scooter rate was $11 a day. They refused to honor my reservation and I had to pay $350 for a smaller car than the one I had reserved at $288. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

Cons: Kayak mkes reservations at the wrong location (not at the airport of provinciales) although it says so on the documentation. Avis then has to change manually and might not have scar available. If they do it is more expensive. Avis says it happen all the time

Cons: Had reservation for SUV clearly printed on my booking. Avis claimed I had booked a scooter and wouldn't acknowledge my booking receipt for the SUV for 5 passengers with 5 bags. Ended up being forced into a small economy car that was scratched up beyond belief and paid $100 more than the SUV I booked.

Cons: Price problem. Quoted price from search engine was not honored. Had to fork over an additional $100 dollars for the car I thought I had reserved. Avis claimed problem is with the search engine. Still trying to get to the bottom of this problem.

Cons: Fake ad on Kayak. Always happy with Kayak up to now. Ad was for car with picture but in fact was for motor scooter. Avis was able to replace with a car (more mo ey) and said this happened a lot with Kayak. They were very nice about it

Cons: book a car for a total of 108.13 dollar, when pick up, was told that rate is for " scooter", ended up taking a small car for 155.52 dollar.

Cons: The car I rented turned out to be a scooter. I had to pay more money to get an actual car. Third party booking was not correct per Avis. Thanks for the hassle Kayak! Never Again!

Cons: Avis representative refused to honor the price on my online booking and pointed me to a sign board on the counter mentioning That Avis doe not honor third party bookings and I had to pay a new higher price he offered.

Cons: Kayak, It looks like I am not the first person to have issues with this. It also seems that it is YOUR issue (a first for me- I have always been happy with Kayak) and not an AVIS thing, although they could have been kinder to remedy the situation. When my husband and I arrived in Turks and Caicos, we were transported to their off site location and told that the reservation that I had for a car (pictured a small new Nissan) was actually a scooter rental and not at that location. There were no efforts to make this acceptable or to compensate in anyway. We were given for $100 more a really junky little manual car. It got us where we needed to go, but I would like you to follow up with this false advertising. I have more documentation if you are interested.

Cons: Kayak error on the rental.. I rent à car and when à pick the car ....my rent is for a scooter...wrong image and wrong spécification rental... But avis as fixe up everyting good for me.. But I m not the first Who got this problem. ..don't book white by kayak. ..

Cons: Picking up off airport and return to airport Not what I thought I booked. It cost me $33 extra for cab to hotel before picking up car, Not to mention the $250 ticket at the airport while dropping off luggage. Not your fault but had to pay this amount at avis

Cons: I booked my car for arriving in Turks and when I go to the rental I am told that the car I rented was downtown and it would be a $40 cab fair or they could transfer the rental to theirs for $30 more. Don't know if they play you or Kayak booked the wrong Airport rental!!!!

Cons: The advertising states the car pick-up is located at the airport - this is NOT TRUE. There is a shuttle van that you wait in line (based on arrival at desk). The loaded all luggage and passages to travel 800 meters to a parking lot to an unair-conditioned 1 room "hut". There 5 attendants (2 who knew what to do?) helped the 15 of us process, sign paperwork, work the one 1990s style printer while the rest of the families waited outside on the curve in the sun. The process was so different that experiences stateside (welcome, show ID, here's the key). They DO NOT take AMEX! (even if your reservation was made by AMEX). If you use debit card there is a 5K hold placed? And finally make sure if want automatic indicate that...somehow two families had indicated manual or no preference and ended up riding back to airport. For us from the time we cha led in at the AVIS desk at the airport to getting our keys and driving away to enjoy our vacation was 1&1/2 hours. 100% honest...be prepared to wait lines with other frustrated patrons and process long & slow

Cons: I was told when I arrived that I reserved a manual car. Then I was told I couldn't use an Amex. Horrendous. I ended up booking directly with Dollar and was happy with them.

Cons: If there was one thing I had to complain about it would be that the car was basic, under powered and small, but it was very gas efficient!

Cons: Even though I put in airport code (PLS) I was told that the rate was for Avis on other side of island. They charged me more than what Kayak advertised/I agreed to.

Cons: We specifically booked through AVIS because Kayak both sites stated the car was IN TERMINAL. This was critical to us as we were traveling with a infant and a car seat. When we got to the AVIS desk they informed us that a shuttle would be coming to pick us up. We told the desk clerk that we chose Avis as they stated the car was located in Terminal, and paid additional money for that service. They completely lied to us and did not even have the decency to adjust the price for an offsite pick up. Do Not Use AVIS on the island.

Cons: I booked the car to pick up at the airport. When I arrived the Avis clerk couldn't find my reservation but I showed it to her on my phone. She went ahead and sent our group on the shuttle to discuss the issue with the rental counter. We got there and the clerk said my reservation was for a different pick up location, grace bay not the airport. I ended up having to pay 75 more just to get a car at the airport. When I booked i would have never selected a location that required my group to rent a taxi to get to. It was very frustrating.

Cons: Small, manual clown cars, with many miles on them, no radio or music at all. the Car was too small to use on the many unpaved roads that are on the island, so I could not even go everywhere I wanted to see.
