The pickup was good. The office was full of customers and the clerk was doing his best to take care of all the pickups and drop off customers as fast and complete as he could. A busy place always says good things about a company. The car was clean and very nice. It made a very comfortable trip. The drop off at the airport was extremely quick with the attendant treating me as soon as I got out of the car. A quick check and he said thank you and showed me the way to the airport check in. It was one of the nicest and easiest car rentals I have had at a very reasonable rate.

The pickup was a real disaster. Made us miss a $120 reservation at the Colesseum as we waited 2 hours after our 11am reservation for our car under scorching heat. Not recommending Avis for anyone.

I arrived after the agent closed even though I directly called Avis twice to arrange after hours pick up, as KAYAK advised me to. Avis does not have a 24/7 help line, only a sales line. At 2 am in a city and airport I'd never been in I was left without transportation or immediate help and was told if I didn't return at 7 am I would lose my reservation. Worst rental car experience ever and ended up costing me way more money due to Uber alternative. It was also a massive inconvenience as I was in town for my sister in laws funeral and was supposed to drive guests and family around.

They called and said they had to cancel my reservation because they didnt have a car available, even though I had a reservation. They offered no alternative options to me during that call and told me I'd have to call around myself to other Avis locations to see if they had a car and could take my booking. Horrible service!

I am glad to have received no extra charge for upgrade and added driver. Vehicle was adequate and ran great. Only concern was that when I checked in to receive the car, the agent wanted to sell me their insurance but I had third-party insurance. She said that if something happened they'd charge my personal vehicle insurance and I'd have to get reimbursement from the third party insurance on my own. I felt that was an unnecessary threat and a way to push me to purchase the Avis insurance. Otherwise, everything went smoothly.
