Standard SUV

The cleaning and odor of the car could have been better. The rest was perfect, great people and service as well as great choice of car, all terrain for a 12hrs roadtrip. Drop off was easy as well as pick up, reserving online saves time!

Nashville pick up was AMAZING!! Excellent and helpful staff. Indy drop off was not good.....no one in the office.......waiting by myself for at least 10 mins as well as phones ringing and no one answering them. Finally someone came in, barely acknowledged me, took my key........and that was it....didn't go look at the car, didn't ask if it was full of gas, where it was parked etc. No paperwork to show I dropped it off before time either.........not good experience in Indy.

Minivan

They were super busy when I got there and it took quite a while for them to acknowledge and help me. However, the van I rented was full of gas and ready to go. I honestly expected it to be much cleaner inside and out for what I was paying. But once we got on the road the van was perfect. We actually fell in love with the van. I would rent from this Budget again.

I was never able to get a car from them. I paid for a car rental and about an hour before I was scheduled to pick it up, they called and told me they didn’t have any cars today. I asked “do any other locations?” They said “you can call around.” I asked if they could do that for me so they told me they’d transfer my call. Then they hung up on me. I tried to get a rental from another location. The same thing happened there. “No cars today.” I called the corporate line. I was told that someone would be reaching out to me from a third location either by phone or by email. I didn’t hear from anyone. I called back to ask to cancel any reservation I had with them. That at least was easy. However, I had paid for insurance through Kayak and now I have to email another party to get a refund for the insurance I paid on the car I never got.

I put Nashville airport in the search but got some Enterprise in Nashville not at the airport. Poor website design.

The employee we had contact with was outgoing, kind and friendly.

Cons:

They didn’t have the car we actually booked (it was being given to another customer as I arrived) so we were switched to something similar. We were up sold on insurance coverage after being told that the Allianz policy offered online didn’t really cover anything. If we wanted to leave on Sunday there were really limited hours (12p-3p, leaving us to rent the car another day to eliminate the hassle/give us the freedom to leave when we wanted). The option to pay with my credit card online didn’t work causing some confusion before picking up the car.

Cons:

Good value but parking was limited and very expensive in Downtown Nashville. We returned the rental early and walked everywhere. Our hotel was near main st. Used an UBER once.

All was good exept the deposit we paid was never released , we can not get our deposit money back as our bank need a letter from Avis to release the deposit back to our account .

The trunk was not clean. Had Christmas tree pine needles in it. We were not given instructions that our hotel room key needed to be programmed to exit the garage gate. We had to get the valet to open the gate. Nobody was there to receive the keys at drop off. We texted the number provided with no response. We did arrive 45 minutes early but waited until after our scheduled drop off time. Texted again letting them know keys were put in the Dropbox. They responded to confirm and said they did not receive the first text earlier. Later, I got a call saying they were returning my call (I had not called them). Better communication and someone onsite when scheduled would be an improvement but the employee who helped when we picked up the car was very nice.

Passenger van

Horrible. Rented a van weeks ago. Verified the day before and response was YES! Arrive and no van available. Zero. Nada. And we had a card load of people to transport. Very disappointed. Avis is on our “avoid” list.

The avis location closed at noon and our pick up was at noon. We had to pay for an additional lyft to get to the airport. After talking to avis on the phone we had to change the whole reservation. Why would they schedule a pickup at the time they close?

Cons:

Travel plans change and you can't always be on time to pick up the car. I was three hours late and they gave my car away so I had to take a smaller car at the same price. This is not a good practice. The time set ups need to be more flexible.
