I purchased third party insurance through kyack and they made me buy insurance there for $100 they claimed the insurance I purchased is not adequate enough to get the rental. Then I noticed a family of bugs in the car from the giant spider under the passenger seat to the roach like creatures that crawl all over inside at night. Reservation was not honored. Your partner company Qeeq charged my card and didn’t provide any service. Budget claimed the reserves was not in their system. I had to pay them directly for the rental. Car was dirty and missing a hubcap, they offered us the upgrade but the car wasn’t even any better. Then there were a bunch of extra charges on top of the original cost ($150 worth). The line took a very very long time to check in.Reviewed Mar 22 2026

We waited for over two hours to get our rental car at St. Thomas airport. 30 mins in line just to sign paperwork and then another 1.5 hours waiting for the keys, after we were told it would be a 45 mins wait. Desk agents were very rude. They continued to tell other customers in line that there was a 45 mins wait knowing that was a lie. We feel like we were being lied to or scammed. I will be sharing this experience on social media and We will never book with this company again. If you would like to discuss this further you may contact me at 8139199467. The car was great. The price was great. Drop off was smooth. BUT… we waited almost 3 hours after we landed to get our car, the one we reserved months in advance. 3 hours?!? I find that completely unacceptable and unnecessary. I have given feedback to Budget in St. Thomas, Budget corporate and QEEQ, however they fit into this. I’m not sure how you make this right, but QEEQ offered us a $20 coupon. My time is worth $7.33/hour?? Had it been the other way around, they would have rented the car to someone else. I’m sure I’ve rented a hundred cars over the years and this experience was the worst because of that. I don’t see me using Budget or Kayak again. It’s one thing to have a rough time, but the response to make it right has been completely underwhelming.Reviewed Feb 15 2026

The pickup experience was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a rental car. The staff there had no sympathy for people who’s flights were delayed and instead of having a conversation with customers they would walk up to people and without saying anything else would ask for their name and tell them to come back tomorrow. In short, they were rude and didn’t look to communicate with anyone. I would advise anyone I know to never use budget again - this experience has ensured I will go out of my way to not book with them again.Reviewed Jan 25 2026
