Council Bluffs Car Rentals

Cons: Only had three cars to choose from a hatchback, a medium sedan and a pickup.

Cons: My Kayak reservation was not honored.

Cons: I picked up the car...checked it over.... heading to attendant to give them the slip before leaving and the maintenance light came on. Though everyone was friendly and helpful, it was frustrating that I had to then repeat the entire process .... return the car, go back inside to the terminal, get another contract, keys etc. and return to the garage for another car. Had I been in a hurry for an appointment .... THIS additional 35 minutes would have made me LATE.

Cons: They didn't have the size car I rented nor did they upgrade me. They tried to give me a much smaller car and when I said that wouldn't work they said I would have to stick around the airport til A car came in that I could use.

Cons: Would have preferred vehicle shown in advert. Nissan ---- Ford from Avis was not good. Uncomfortable, hard to understand display. Rental price was high, even for Thanksgiving. Not sure I will rent again

Cons: Returning car was a bit confusing with the Avis line and then needing to finish paperwork in terminal

Cons: When I picked up the car, the agent told me about a 200 mile/day limit that I was unaware of. The agent was sure to point out that it was my mistake for missing the information. They should have been more helpful in addressing the problem instead of defending their role in it. (When I went back later to see where it states there's a 200 mile/day limit, I still couldn't find it anywhere.) I was also charged $19 more than expected. When I called about it, the agent was unable to help me and gave me another number to call tomorrow. Also, when picking up, the agent should tell the customer "Stop at the Dollar booth in the garage to get the keys." I was not told that and I walked a long way to the car to find it without keys. It was extremely cold and I had my kid with me. We walked around to find help. The person in the Dollar booth said, "You need to stop here first.". Thanks a lot. By the time I got in the car to begin my vacation, I was so heated and frustrated that it took a couple hours for me to cool off, forget the bad experience and start enjoying my trip. The car was awesome, but the pick-up process was pretty rough.

Cons: There was almost $200 in additional fees they tried to charge from the rate kayak gave me $283 and in reality they wanted $460. It's a franchise so good luck with any corporate help. Molly the owner avoided my calls during the rental and never got back about reducing the fee and a refund after the rental was turned in and it was a bogus contract

Cons: I couldn't turn on headlights in the dark and interior lights don't come on when you open the door. I was on the freeway before I realized they were not on and I had a mess !

Cons: They originally tried to charge me an extra $50.00 for being 8 minutes late. The attendant told me she was unable to make any adjustment and it needed a manager.

Cons: The manager at the booth told us the price per gallon was $1.95, which she said was cheaper than the market. We barely drove the car and returned it the following day only to be told that we would be charged for 1/2 tank of gas. When I questioned this, the clerk gave me a well rehearsed and rude response "well if she didn't tell you. She wrote it down on your paperwork." I pulled the paperwork out, and she did. It was deceptive, and I will never use Dollar

Cons: Avis charges more than $50 over the reservation quote.

Cons: Airport rentals, which I know were expensive, should have had better cars for the kind of price I paid. Instead of getting me a nice Toyota, Nissan, or Chevy, I was placed in a Lancer, which was ill-equipped for the driving I was doing. The Lancer also lacked basic lumbar support, which the other cars likely would have had. They did offer a VW, but only if I paid the full-size price. I was already paying $330+ tax for the week (when KAYAK pffered $160-200 for off-airport rentals). To make me particularly angry - Avis did have Camrys available, but only to the "AVIS Preferred" members. I will not be going to Avis again.

Cons: Hidden fees that pushed by bill to double what I thought

Cons: Price was higher than quoted on Kayak. Will avoid Avis in the future.

Cons: Wanted a mid size car and they gave me a Toyota Sequoia. Got 14 MPG and was pain to park. Exterior of car was water spotted and dingy.

Cons: The car was way too small even for an economy car, seems silly that they would rent such tiny cars without a specific request. But it ran great!

Cons: Salesman is a shyster....fast talker. I showed proof of insurance...he snuck it on my bill anyway. My overall Bill should've been around $113 but they billed me $470. They did give me $312 back eventually but I should get more back. I've called customer service, I've emailed three times, no one cares. Nothing but thieves in my opinion.
