The car had a major starter problem. Got nowhere during hours on the phone. When I returned it I explained what had happened, i.e. took at least 8 minutes & up to 19 minutes each time I restarted it to get it to kick in. It was clearly not a battery issue. Luckily I only had to do this 5x because I rented for 24 hours to attend a funeral. when I brought it back they were completely disinterested & dismissive of my concerns. Didn't even write it down. They said it was because it was cold. Ummmmm....about 200 other cars in the parking lot after the funeral & mine the only one that wouldn't start ....Their lack of concerns seems obviously the reason I got a car that wouldn't start most of the time. Also, renting in Nebraska in January & the car did not include a scraper. Really??? You have to fly across the country with your own scraper or go buy a brand new one every time? (Which by the way would require turning the car off, so figure in another up to 19 minutes to restart it...)Reviewed Jan 19 2024

Hertz did not honor the rate quoted on Kayak. The final price was considerably higher. Also, it appears their car servicing person cleaned the inside of the windshield with the same rag used to check the oil. Nearly bald tires wew also a concern.Reviewed Oct 29 2022

Pros:Staff was responsive and apologetic once we notified them that our car had not been cleaned since the previous user turned it in.Cons:So the initial Nissan Armada that we were given had not been cleaned, so they were quick to switch us to a Tahoe. The full size SUV description said 7 people and 4 bags, so I assumed Suburban or the equivalent. In actuality you will be able to fit one large and one roller board behind the third row. I was surprised that there was not a cleaning protocol for the rental... even the second “cleaned” car had a dusty steering column and dash, so it was obvious that it had not been wiped down. Be prepared to do your own sanitizing.Reviewed Nov 30 2020

Pros:Clean car.Cons:We paid for a midsize and received a compact car. My husband couldn’t fit into the car. When I asked if this is a midsize they told me no it was a compact and I paid for a midsize. What a bummer.Reviewed Dec 1 2019

Pros:The attendant was outstanding with helping me pick up my car. He explained the benefits of an upgrade and I am do glad we did. I also signed up for hertz points and an a customer for life now!Reviewed Aug 12 2019

Pros:The woman I spoke to on the phone beforehand and at the office was so kind. She was very helpful & gentle. This was my first time renting a car, and she made me feel so calm about it.Cons:The employee did run my card for me without telling me the price.
