Pros: Drop off in Richmond was by far the best part. Lady was very nice and apologetic for the inconvenience at pick up.
Cons: Pick up in Akron Ohio: They didn't have the car I had reserved. The manager didn't care at all that I was unhappy about that. Then they told me that it was only $4 cheaper for the step down car even though online the difference was $20.

Pros: The process was easy. The rental office was easy to find, and once I got there the whole process went fairly fast. The person was professional, very pleasant, and easy to understand.
Cons: The price was higher than expected. Insurance was a big expense.

Original Car was in terrible shape
Pros: The car that they had for us in the Akron branch was in terrible shape. It had dents and scratches all over it. It wasn't washed. The front rims were very dirty...probably from brake dust. The tires didn't look in great shape, especially for a 1100 mile trip to Florida. I don't understand why this car was still in the fleet of rentals. It was driven hard and abused. So to actually know how it was mechanically for a long trip is unknown. Because we switched it out at the Akron airport. Now that care was in great shape. Very satisfied with that car. Clean inside and out. Car was in great shape. We putt over 2500 miles on it and had no problems.

Pros: Absolutely no complaints. The staff was super friendly and helpful, car was great with no issues, pick up and return was easy. I'll definitely use Hertz again when I'm in town!

Cons: Arrived at 8:30am - the time of my reservation and there was no one in sight. Place was suppose to be open at 8:00 am. Had to call their phone number to get someone out of the back area. No full sized cars like I reserved. Only compact or an intermediate. However imtermediate car still needed cleaned the guy working there said I could wait 20-25 mins for him to clean it or take the compact. It was obvious that he did not want to clean the car. I didn't have 25 mins to wait and was forced to take the compact. Horrible customer service.
Pros: I was turned away carless because I didn't have a credit card. The same debt card ive used every year to rent a car on my trip to Florida was not good enough. My car was in the shop and I was stranded.

Mark at 259 West Market is inconsiderate
Cons: Mark was "out of cars" and rebooked me an hour before pickup to the airport, which was inconvenient. He claimed it wouldn't cost any more. Instead, the airport had higher fees and taxes, and the person working there told me Mark regularly reschedules everyone to the airport when they have a one-way trip because he prefers round-trip rentals at his franchise location. I called Mark who refused to help me. Check-out person at the airport wasn't helpful either.
Pros: Well maintained car with less than 5000 miles. Exceptionally clean!

Clerk at pick up
Cons: The man on duty when I picked the car up needs customer service training. He was obnoxious and condescending. He blamed the company for multiple errors which is not impressive.
In my opinion he should not deal with public
But other than him, my car, the simplicity of reservations and drop off clerk were all fantastic!!!
I come home twice a year. I will rent here again.
