Pros:
Staff was wonderful. Unfortunately Budget doesn't provide the location with vehicles for the day until two hours before the site opens for business, so there was a long delay from check-in until my rental was ready.Cons:
Turnover could be improved for cleaning vehicles by either having more staff or providing vehicles to be sterilized earlier.7.6 Good

Pros:
Car was new and clean & both pickup and return were good. Vehicle was larger than requested, but drove well and was reasonably fuel-efficient. At time of booking we did not realize the rental center was not within reach of the airport. Metro ride and a brisk walk made it manageable, but we did need to factor in extra travel time.2.4 Mediocre

This rental car office was inside a Sears tire store. It would have been great to know that before. The car smelled really bad when we got it. I don't think it was cleaned from the last rental. When it rained we figured out the wiper blades needed to be replaced.5.2 Okay

Quick check in, quick pick up and the car was clean and in a good condition.Cons:
I wanted to change the drop off from Baltimore to Aberdeen. I asked the staff in Washington DC to change my drop off. They printed the contract saying Baltimore drop off and they confirmed to me that it is ok to drop the car in Aberdeen as long as it is the same state no extra charges applied. Which was wrong!4.8 Okay

The WA DC office staff was not friendly or helpful. "No, we don't have maps since we rent GPS." I asked about tolls and was then told about the tolls and additional charges. I needed to probe to learn how to disable the machine. The attendant was not forthcoming. The man in parking lot she told us to ask for help was even less helpful and gave us wrong directions. The seats were dirty, stained and melted by what appeared to be cigarettes.Avis

Only 5/6 of a tank when I took the car (already down the road when I realized). Then they charged me a full extra day and $30 damage waiver when I brought the car back a couple hours late.10.0 Excellent

Jamie was wonderful. I'd reserved the car for 7 a.m. but was dropped off by my Uber before 6:45. Jamie saw me outside in the chilly weather, went and got the car for me and let me start my rental a little early. Excellent customer service.10.0 Excellent

The service at the Budget Rental Office downtown Wash, D.C. was exceptionally friendly. The car, a brand new Ford Edge was terrific. Want to buy one! One of the best rental car experiences I've had.Cons:

Pros:
Nothing! The staff in Landover told me adding a second driver was free if I was married, which I am. Then when I dropped off the car they charged me for it. I reminded them what they told me and they said it was an error on their part but would not credit me. They should know their own policies and should have made things right by not charging me for their error!!Cons:
Staff should know Hertz policies and make their errors correct by not charging renters for their errors!! Staff told me to call customer service and they would not credit me either. I asked for a supervisor and she told me the supervisor would tell me the same thing. Very bad customer service. I read a review that said do not rent from this location but I gave it a try. I won’t make that mistake again!10.0 Excellent

Car was well priced based on daily rate. I was comfortable with that size car despite me not thinking I would.Cons:
Rental Office: I had to probe to get direct answers to questions about cost (which never came, had to get the very simple answers from customer service). It ultimately felt like a chance to upsell instead of providing all options. Then was told I could not leave my car at the location by my contract agent. Upon leaving, I asked another agent, and without hesitation that agent informed me I could leave my car based on my short rental duration. Car: I appreciate the thorough inspection of the cars appearance, even taking pictures to ensure that the identifiable marks were caused before, smart. But there is more to a car than just what it looks like. The car had a "strong" smell upon entering, but it reached an entirely different level once the heat started blowing. It took 2 hrs with the window down to make it tolerable. I think they should always fumigate all vehicles before giving to the next renter. There was no window washing fluid. Window washing fluid isnt always necessary, but in the month of January with snow falling, it is imperative. I had to stop at gas stations periodically to use their squeegees. Contract: Fees and taxes almost equate to the value of the rental rate2.0 Mediocre

Kayak, you need to provide clear disclosure before taking peoples payments online. You need to disclose that the coverage you offer for insurance is different than Enterprise, and that there is a security deposit in addition to the cost of the rental. For credit cards it's $100 and for debit cards it's $200. So instead of paying $400 I paid over $600. I would not have been upset if you would have just said that at the time I made my reservation online.10.0 Excellent
