Pros:
I paid for a suv traverse or similar and they had an equinox for us. a much smaller suv. I had to pay a $200. deposit even though I paid for the rental ahead of time. I also had to pay $20 a day extra for a larger suv (an explorer). the staff was borderline rude. I won't use them again.Cons:

Customer service was terrible. I arranged for a pick up time, but when I got there (middle of the day) the door was locked, no one was there. I called the Hertz 1 800 number and they couldn't track down anyone. So they send me to another Hertz the next town over. That one doesn't have the car size I reserved. They send me to another Hertz the next town over where the person behind the computer is pissed because I'm making her work. Then I get to wait while they clean the car. When I returned the car I got there 15 minutes before they open - that day they opened 20 minutes late. There are 4 customers there trying to get stuff done and get to work on time.2.0 Poor

I placed a reservation with Hertz on June 13th for pickup on June 23rd-26th. I decided to drop by the office on 2865 Airline Blvd Portsmouth VA the day before to check on the reservation. No one was in the office so I called Hertz headquarters. THIS OFFICE WAS CLOSED!. My credit card was charged and I was given a confirmation #. SO WHY WASN'T I NOTIFIED THAT THIS LOCATION WAS CLOSED? I had to cancel my plans because the rate I was quoted for a new reservation was almost DOUBLE what I had reserved for.2.0 Poor

The vehicle I asked for in my reservation was not available (not delivered from the airport location). I picked up one vehicle (a Jeep) which did not have a full tank of gas and decided that vehicle was too uncomfortable for a long trip so I returned to ask for another vehicle and was able to obtain a Malibu (also no full tank). I did not like having to refuel two vehicles without having used them. The Malibu had no flat repair equipment. Instead I was told to call road side assistance if needed. Two other vehicles on the premises could not be rented; one had a "wrong mileage" issue and another had an expired registration. I am very unlikely to rent from Budget again.10.0 Wonderful
