Everything was wonderful. The room was clean and very big. Nice king bed. The only thing I didn't like was the gym. I went into the gym & the equipment was so outdated and there was only room for one or two people. I couldn't imagine if there were more people trying to get in. And the gym only had 3 cardio machines and then a total gym.
Staff was very friendly, room was very clean.
Great place great staff Nothing
Good swimming pool for kids. Breakfast is convenient, fresh and plenty of options. Staff was friendly and accommodating We had a plugged sink that the staff couldn't fix, but they gave us anow upgrade that was very nice.

The lady in breakfast room was a delight. The linens were damp and clamy. It was a 2 day stay. linens were not changed on the second day. The room was not cleaned either.
Staff extremely friendly specially the breakfast counter lady. Room felt a bit humid other than that was fine.
Literally the only room available in the area at the time. Management does clean somewhat. The price was jacked up because of the high demand. Price gouging. Terrible smoke fumes. Everything is old worn and dated. Circa 1980 pink fixtures. Didn't understand why guests were loitering outside. Access to ice machine is through a hole cut in the wall with a door on it. Property requires serious investment to make it palatable.
Clean and cheap. Smelled a bit old, musty. Gave our clothes a moth ball smell.
Like a small apartment. Separate bedroom, living and kitchen area. Clean, good maid service. Great for an extended stay if needed. Not sure of prices for a longer stay, for a few nights, similar to other hotels. Free breakfast and some snack food at 5:30 pm social hour. Free laundry facilities. Small and limited fitness room.
nice big room with separate bedroom and full kitchen booking.com had the wrong email address for a reservation, and it became a two hour headache
Great customer service from Heather at front desk. Fixed a reservation problem quickly and pleasently.
Room was clean and close to downtown for the race. Staff was very cheerful and very helpful.
The comfort, peaceful setting.
Enjoyed swimming laps in their clean pool Nice assortment of foods for breakfast Clean, quiet rooms
The size and functionality of the room. When myself and my guest arrived, there was NO ONE at the front desk to greet us. It took more than 10 minutes for us to find someone to help us. When the front desk person arrived, they were less than courteous to myself and the rest of the line up waiting to talk to someone. I felt as if our check in was rushed and that the inconvenience that I felt while waiting was not properly addressed.
The room itself was great - big comfy bed, mini kitchen which included a toaster, microwave, fridge, pots and pans, and utensils. The double head shower was also very clean. They have a shuttle service that picks you up and takes you places within a 2mile radius which is great except it takes 30 min to come get you and then sometimes if it already has passengers it takes you all the way out to the airport when you just had to walk 10min. The breakfast wasn't anything great.. They had lots of options but everything was very bland, typical hotel food. I was sick for a full day because the milk I had was bad even though it hadn't expired. I think it might have been left out to spoil just a little too long.
Room clean and good size. Staff very nice. Breakfast was good Had Internet connection problems which were a real inconvenience
Clean Noisy. You could hear all the doors closing. The maid service knocked several times very early in the morning on nearby rooms and was very loud. Someone attempted to open our dor n then ran away despite do not disturb sign
Professional & courteous staff, modern & clean rooms, convenient location
Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Cozy comfortable beds. Good breakfast. Convenient location. Parking was tight.
The best deal you can get in Syracuse. Nothing
Location to restaurants and entertainment. Rooms are outdated and not clean. Bathroom had mold around toilet and shower. Customer service - Upon check in, I explained the wrong room was given to us, as the confirmation showed how many and what type of bed we should have. They did not care and told me the room I had was correct. Upon checkout, my credit card was charged for the room, even though I had paid through a booking site. I explained this to the woman at the desk, and she said since they could not find record of payment, she would not refund me. Instead of trying to satisfy me by making a simple phone call to the booking site, she told me I had to do the work and contact the booking site to find out details and then contact her to get the refund.
Room was neat & clean; nice linens and a huge rain shower stall. Close to SU and University Hospital. Continental breakfast is not offered nor included in room price. Parking costs extra. In a small market like syracuse, these should be included in the room price.
We were very impressed with the hotel. Everything was very clean and the breakfast in the morning was delicious - you can make your own fresh waffles! The kitchenette area was wonderful, even though we didn't cook, we used some of the utencils. The hotel is right off of the highway, so it's perfect for an overnight stay while on a roadtrip (which is what we did)! Thank you :) Syracouse is sketchy and doesn't seem to have much to offer aside from the outlets but that is not the hotel's fault.
Friendly, professional staff; wonderful complimentary breakfast to include freshly made omelettes and Starbucks coffee; indoor pool, fitness room, and guest laundry; extremely comfortable beds. There was a large, loud group who checked in towards the end of our stay and were very loud and unruly all hours of the day or night. The hotel was very apologetic to us and offered us many complimentary options to resolve the matter as well as monitor and attempt to control the other party.
The updates to the hotel are fantastic.
The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The hotel had a pool which unfortunately closes at 10PM but also a fitness center which is open 24/7. I would highly recommend staying at Maplewood Inn Syracuse. The pool closes at 10PM which isn't really a big deal.
Vert Comfortable beds easy access to highway net work, a very good associated restaurant good parking would stay their again The breakfast facilities are appaling if you were staying with a family this would be a put off. it would be better if they can persuade the restaurant to do breakfasts
The hotel had a pool, which my children enjoyed! We also liked the food in the lobby! Overall it is a great place to stay!
The bedrooms we had were excellent They had not got our booking correct for either our arrival or departure! They seemed to imply it was our fault but it was sorted with out too much delay
Room cleanliness was great Love their chocolate cookie gift upon check in and the candy bar in the room Very convenient off 90 thruway Cost was great for location and overall hotel quality Thank you for complimentary breakfast buffet Mattress comfort & quality was Just OK The restaurant is to the left of the front hotel entrance and there was loudness I stayed on the Hilton Honors level and noticed the noise level adjacent to my room and one level below. More sound-proofing needed
Hot tub and pool are great, well stocked with towels. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. No vending machines or options for food. They had limited drinks at the front desk that were overpriced, and the restaurant served breakfast that also seemed kind of steep.
Noisy heating system... Old and warn out
The pool heater was broke and both the jacuzzi and pool were DISGUSTING! The breakfast was a joke! And I had to take a shower in another room because our tub wouldn't drain. The air conditioner felt like it was on its last leg. Never again! Don't bother with this hotel. What a waste of money!
Hotel is good. Staff is great. They helped me out of a major problem when my car would not start. Syracuse weather.
Convenience to temporary work When I arrived TWO of the desk clerks told me that a small conference room would be available for me the next day to meet a client. The clerks said this conference room was open to guests free of charge on a first come first serve basis. Later on the "Asst Manager" told me it was fully booked for the weekend. During the weekend I walked by the glass doors several times, and never saw a soul in it. First two days of my five day stay, housekeeping did not even touch my room.
The room reaked of smoke. Asked for another room and was rudely helped
Old, musty odor plus cigarette smell in the corridor and elevator
Room was comfortable, staff was nice, decent location, great price, good breakfast, air conditioner was crazy powerful, nice pool and jacuzzi Nothing
Staff was very nice and accommodating!! Although the room window and heater were covered with frost and snow leaking inside room resulting in a cold room!! Staff was nice, but room was just ok! No towels in bathroom and I needed to call front desk! Heater and window were sooo cold that snow was coming into room!!!
The location was perfect. We were going to an event at The Stage. Upon arrival the lobby was beautiful and the staff very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with all of the necessities. We ate both dinner the menu was amazing with variety of vegetarian meals. Breakfast as well. With such a beautiful lounge we ate there both meals. All of these things were of great quality but the staff is the shinning star of the hotel. The front desk clerk who always had a smile and a welcoming word to the shuttle driver and all of the wait staff!! The business end of the bathroom was a little worn.
Lobby Incredible food Torn shower curtain Long walk for retired Air Force disabled vet, not enough disability parking near entrance
Ease of parking.Comfortable beds. Had to ask multiple times for a refrigerator in room when I previously confirmed a refrigerator would be in room at checkin. Needed more staff at front desk.
For a "king suite" it was a very average room-may as well opt for a cheaper room. It seems one half of the hotel is way nice than the other-but it's still nice.
The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. Also the service was outstanding. The staff was very helpful and brought anything that was needed. Very quiet and comfortable rooms A bit noisy in the common areas as the pool is enjoyed and used by the children that are there.
The rooms are very spacious. Bed was comfortable. The courtyard is fantastic, it's so pleasant with the little stream running through. Good breakfast, omelette station was a plus. Staff upon arrival was very hospitable (fitting for the industry). Pool area had holes in the ceiling. Otherwise, everything seemed pretty maintained. My only other complaint is that the fire alarm went off at 6am and scared the heck out of myself and my partner. Went off for a good 5-10 minutes and as we were heading outside was shut off. When I was checking out that afternoon, the girl at the front desk just half-apologized and said the kitchen cleaners did it. I know it wasn't her fault, but pretend that you care about waking up 100+ guests with an air raid style alarm. It's hospitality 101.
good price with good buffet breakfast minutes from the thruway large accomodating suit nice atmosphere
Reception and breakfast were actually decent Plumbing backup flooded our bathroom. We had flies and fruit flies in our room. We booked this hotel because it had a hot tub, but that wasn't working. They didn't put up an out of order sign even though they knew it was broken. No towels in pool area. They didn't uphold no-children in pool area after 10Pm. Just a lot of disappointments.
Nice, spacious with a great breakfast!! Didn't care much for the front desk staff. They were never available everytime we tried reaching them by phone.
The shuttle driver was excellent. Gave us a ride to and from the mall for a comedy club and then recommended a nightclub for us to go to. Very friendly! The room was directly over the pool and it was extremely hot in our room, and there was no air conditioning. We opened the window, but too late.
I liked the feeling of the place...the staff was very nice and helpful and the good was excellent...the room was great and there were no problems The bathroom was a little small and there was no fan
happy hour breakfast resturant Room housekeeping room size Room coffee machine
Cooked breakfast. Facility is showing some aging. Missing coffee making ingredients in room. Noisy location (right next to thruway).
The breakfast was great. Staff at egg station is very friendly and happy. The hotel is dark inside, needs more lights to make it feel alive and not so dull.
Room air conditioning was great. Mattress and pillows suprisingly comfortable. The shower was hard to regulate - but the water stream was strong enough.
Everything was fine. No issues at all. Very accommodating and pleasant staff. Nothing to note.
Great price, clean, and a free continental plus breakfast daily. Rooms have nice big adjustable flatscreen TVs if your stuck inside. Location is not within walking distance of too many things unless you go further than a mile. Minimal facilities, but to be expected at the price.
Great customer service and comfortable stay.
Quick and easy check in Good location right off the highway
It was clean and the staff was friendly. It is outdated and a little eery.
The staff and everything being available at this hotel for a small price. I loved the bed and TV, and it was quite a nice stay for the price that I paid. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised.
The room was very clean and the service/breakfast was great. It was also in a great location beside a gas station that has very cheap gas relative to the other I-90 gas stations. Great place to stop if you're traveling through and want to refuel and/or stay the night. The facilities and furniture were very dated--a bit overpriced for the quality of the facilities. Also, we were driving a moving truck/tow car, and there was nowhere to easily park the truck or to exit without backing up (which is very difficult with a large moving truck and car tow).
Very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Short drive to everywhere we went Decor dated but we didn't really care and we just needed a place to stay for one night after a concert.
Expected a three star hotel, and felt that it fell short.
Beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Continental Breakfast had no yogurt options.
Great price, Every thing was fine, very clean. Bed and pillows were great. Enjoyable stay.
I liked the cleanliness of the room and the free soaps and tissues! I was really impressed by the cleanliness and newness of the room given the really low price for the night. The tv was brand new and it looked like a cool place to hang out and order some food in, if we had stayed longer. I didn't like how small the bed was and I was too tired to ask the staff to switch our room. Why would the receptionist put us- a lovely young couple- in a room with two small beds?? My boyfriend thought it was romantic, I could've used a bigger blanket!
Many hotels/motels would not allow dogs or charge extra for a dog's stay. Not so at the Red Roof Inn. We visited a friend for the weekend and RRI provided an affordable place for us to stay with our pup. Staff were genuinely friendly and even had a treat for our four-legged family member. Can't wait to return the next time we're back in Syracust! Was able to hear outside.
The room was modern, clean and quiet. The entire hotel has been recently updated, so it was quite nice- especially for the price! I would definately stay there again.
The employee behind the counter was very helpful. The room was disappointing compared to other red roof inns I have stayed at and I specifically asked for a smoke free room and it tracked of cigarettes the instant we walked in.
It was cheap and they don't charge extra for dogs. Free wifi and staff is nice. In the winter the door opening to a walkway is colder and has issues. People always walking by your window so you don't open the curtains and therefore don't get much natural light. For hotel stays that's are thru a third party like this, are given smaller than normal rooms. So our room was the smallest. Only reason I'd stay here Ever, is if I had a dog. the decor is outdated
Truck stop next door and 2 major highways in view made earplugs necessary. Room itself was fine and Italian restaurant Joey next door was good. Dennys next door too as this motel only offered a ot beverage in the morning.
Bathroom was clean. Non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes and room change could not be accommodated. Awful soundproofing. Trucks nearby were very loud the entire night. Bedding did not look clean.
Clean, affordable, comfortable. Cant ask for more then that
Friendly staff. Great restaurant next door Drains didn't work with manual handle (both sink and tub)
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The outside hallways and banisters were dirty.
Comfortable room, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, coffee in lobby and rooms a plus. Microwave and fridge in room. Nice place to stay for an over night trip. easy to find and plenty of parking. The air conditioner didn't work well at cooling the room. it was a noisey inn. Also some of the breakfast items were all gone and not replenished. Good
wife loves the pillows . location
Great location, very nice breakfast included, love the fact that it's a LEED Platinum building. Room was nicely equipped and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. Just wish it had a hot tub for relaxing! Shower was interesting - no door and only a half-wall for privacy. It was just the two of us so it was fine, but could be more challenging if traveling with teens or anyone who prefers privacy.
Staff was great, location was great and the green initiative was is fantastic. Room was comfortable and quiet.
Lovely airy decor, modern yet comfortable atmosphere. Coming in late at night, I felt like I was retuning to a family member's home who had left the light on for me. The fact that it was a "green" hotel was an added benefit, but it certainly did not feel I was sacrificing anything. I also want to add that even though we were in a busy neighborhood, our room was very quiet. I had no complaints at all.
We stayed at Hotel Skyler on a visit to Syracuse University with my son. It was within walking distance to the campus and the local area had plenty of dining options to discover. (Try Laci's Tapas Bar if you want fabulous food and wine on your stay.) The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful and provided a warm, easy check in. The facilities had a chic, simple, modern decor that was immaculate and comfortable. Two minor items I would have liked to see at the hotel were an in room coffee maker (but they did provide complimentary coffee in the lobby) and later hours for the bar/restaurant (they have a snack stand available until 2 a.m.). I would definitely come back and stay again.
They are rightfully proud of the energy savings and material recycling designed into this wonderful ex-temple. Rooms are spacious and unique, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place when visiting Syracuse.
Location-close to Syracuse University, easy accessibility. ie parking free. Preservation of historic bldg.-beautiful job. "Green" renovation-ecologically responsible No actual dining room available, just a café/bar in lobby.
Very nice and clean hotel in a unique building. Super convenient to Syracuse University; just a short walk up to Marshall Street and less than 10 minutes to the Dome. Rooms were spacious enough, even for a family of 4. All staff were helpful and very nice. Interesting lobby too. And if you stay for a football or basketball game then the on-site free parking is an additional bonus. Bathrooms were a little dark and the showers are European style (only half a door!) Bar seemed to close early.
Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.
This was a good basic hotel, and an excellent vaue for the money. I didn't have a lot of needs, but those I had were met. I rate mattresses by the extent to which my back hurts when I wake up in the morning. The mattress at Super 8 was OK, but not great. Someone without my back issues might regard it as fine. I also would have liked a larger toilet. Again, not a biggee.
Rooms were clean and tidy The heater was off when we arrived. It took a few hours to heat on a very cold day
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and even let us borrow a snow brush for our car!
Close to everything we wanted, great value for my money, great staff. Very clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable.
Clean, nice updated rooms, very friendly staff. Easy on/off of the highway. Nice simple basic hotel. Very good value for money compared with other options.
The only things I can say we liked were the shuttle service to the airport and the price of the room. The rooms were small and dirty. The rooms were not sound proof at all. We listened to a baby cry down the hall half the night.
Comfy beds. Nice shower. Cool TV chair. TV. Free Wifi. Free breakfast. Quiet. Convenient. Nice mini fridge in the room. We were surprised at how nice it was for the price. Wish there was just a little more for the breakfast, but really it was fine.
Clean room, comfortable bed Curtain did not pull closed. Common areas were run down.
The breakfast included in the morning was quite good. Someone seemed to be dedicated to ensuring everything was kept filled and that no one had problems. The room was not clean, smelled of cigarette smoke and the bathroom door hit the toilet when opening and closing.
Had everything I needed in the room for a short stay: desk, coffee maker, ironing board, hair dryer. Room was very comfortable and clean. I liked the waffles at the continental breakfast. Plenty of free parking. The staff was very nice and let us switch to a room with 2 beds instead of 1 even though it's technically against their policy to switch room types if you book through a travel website (kayak, com) Non-smoking hallway and elevator smelled strongly of cigarettes. I wish the entire hotel was non-smoking.
Poor location, miserable staff. Rude staff, wasn't the cleanest hotel by any measure.
Walls have a lot of marks are dirty. Paint was peeling from the bathroom walls. Carpet looked dirty and stained.
Very close to several local venues The hotel is in bad shape. The AC did not work, carpeting in room was sticky, there is no hot tub, the wall paper is coming undone, rust on AC grille, bathroom vent did not vent, breakfast was below par. I had asked for additional towels once and was told they would drop them off at the room, but never received them.
Staff was excellent Room was a bit rundown but clean.
The restaurant and bar closed very early.
It was a clean facility with friendly staff. The continental breakfast was very nice. It was an older facility but still nice
Surrounding university atmosphere. Cost adders (parking, etc.)
Comfortable bed with clean white pillows and topper. Pretty quiet. Courteous staff. Banquet food was not great and the food in the restaurant (Rachels) was uninspired. overcooked shrimp, mushy scrambled eggs. super bland pasta dishes on the conference buffet. Frozen dessert products that are mediocre and probably frozen cookie dough because those were not very good either. Sorry, but I am a restaurant person and I call 'em like I see 'em. Egg salad no, but tuna salad good. Fresh nice fruit and plenty of food. Staff was nice. very casual style of service.
