I wound up canceling my entire rental with Hertz due to very poor customer service. I made my original rental reservation more than seven months in advance. One month afterwards, I called to request a larger vehicle since I would need more room than I originally thought. I knew going into this that I would need to pay more to upgrade. The customer service representative was not polite at all and also told me I could not modify my reservation. After trying to explain and getting nowhere, I canceled and went with National. National was absolutely fantastic. Use them!

The vehicle met my needs. More affordable- less cost!
Didn’t let us know there no morning shuttle to the airport.. nor let us know where to put the key or park the vehicle. There wasn’t even a conversation about drop off. Last minute had to find us a cab that could fit all six of us plus 5 luggage’s to get us to the airport so we wouldn’t miss our flights, If I had known I could have pre set this up. 4 am with a family of six trying to get a cab to the airport. Thankfully we got one and made it.

Couldn’t tell you the full experience because we left the lot without the car. In addition to what was paid ahead of the scheduled pick-up time, we were asked for an additional deposit which wouldn’t be a problem if they had a tap feature on their card reader. The antiquated POS system left us with no choice but to go to a competitor to get a rental car. The blame doesn’t land entirely on NU Car, as I should’ve kept at least one credit card, not debit card, with me, on vacation.

In the fine print it says it only rents to tourists for local travel. It has unlimited miles but I couldn’t leave the state. I rented for a vacation to leave the state. If I left I would be fined. Didn’t take the rental. They need to put that in bold letters!

They made it seem like they were based at the airport and they were not. Shuttle took an hour to come pick up to get the car. Car smelled like smoke. In drop off I needed to call uber in order to get to my flight on time.

Kept getting overcharged, was not allowed to switch the driver to my partner. Due to me being under 25, I was charged extra every day. I was charged extra for insurance and more. Very frustrating. Thought it would be a one time payment but no.
When we arrived, we were charged $150 more than what we were quoted.

Awful experience. Our flight was late so I was’t there to get the car on time. I was told to do another application and I had to pay $ 165 for insurance for 2 days, which was not worth it… I didn’t get the car and I haven’t received my money back.. so disappointed

Had to go back because they didn’t have a minivan when I first arrived or a baby car seat. They didn’t accommodate the 2nd day for free which was great but wish they would be able to accommodate when I was there originally.

Horrible customer service, a lot of hidden fees they don’t tell you about. I called twice to make sure my father can pay since I don’t have a credit card and they said no problem no extra fees for him to be added or pay and then we got there and it was $12.99 per day plus tax to add him. Ridiculous

Terrible! Prices were not as advertised, they did not accept personal insurance and sold me a toll pass I really did not need. After speaking with a manager from a different car rental company, I will never book a car through Kayak or similar 3rd party again. What was suppose to cost me $150 ended up costing me over $700. False advertising at its finest! Never again!

Everything was very good except that my flight landed at 6:00 am and I could not pick up the unit until 12. I tried but they did not give me alternatives
Showed up and they wanted my insurance declaration page. The insurance card wasn’t enough. Never heard of that. Who walks around with insurance declaration papers? The attendant wasn’t very nice or helpful. The type of car that they offered was not what was advertised. Seedy place. Proceed at your own risk.

This was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. First, the instruction to call for pick-up by the shuttle when arriving at the airport was answered by AI not a real person. It did not allow to speak to a human. They did not give a time frame other than saying to go to the meeting place and the shuttle is on an event 20 min schedule. Not true. 1 hour later we finally made it to the rental car establishment. Other people ahead of us were all angry. Everyone had disagreements at this place over one thing or another. When it was finally our turn 30 min later, I declined insurance because I always use my own. Nope! They told me they did work with my insurance company (a very well known one by the way) and that would be $200. What?!? Ok that somewhere in the fine print that they only make known when you have booked and arrived. Also not disclosed was the fact that their building is right near the freeway in which you must pay a toll to cross. So they charge you $15/day for that. I felt completely scammed. Nobody spoke good English and they laughed at everyone complaining. I will never use this place again. How they are still in business I don’t know. Nearly 2.5 hours later (after an already long 6 hr flight) we were finally heading to our destination. Horrible experience.

This was basically a scam. It was advertised as $14/day, but ended up costing about $95/day, due to all the hidden and non-optional fees. I urge you to take the company (and all associated companies, RentCar, etc.) off your website.
