Pros:We paid considerably more than Kayak's quoted price. They told us we had to pay for the Toll Pass gadget for the week, an addition $52 plus dollars, I'm anticipating more charges for that. The attendant that checked us in, or did the paperwork for our car harassed us into trying to prepay for gas for the car we were to return in a week. He said we needed to fill up within 10 miles of the airport and we HAD to show our receipt. The drop off attendant never asked for it, I now know Dollar attendants use scare tactics to make money. I will never use them again.
Cons:Dollar car rentals uses scare tactics to charge more money. We had to pay a ridiculous amount of money to use the Toll Pass that would only have cost under $5 in tolls. If I get quoted a price on Kayak, there shouldn't be hidden prices that jack up the price higher than competition. Should have gone with competition.

Pros:The rental facility was nice and efficient.
Cons:Our dollar agent . First we rented a mid-size car and he tried to give us a compact car. Then he told us that he strongly suggested purchasing a fastpass as they no longer had toll booths on the Florida roads. WE paid $62.00 to go through one toll booth that took cash. Plan where you will be going and find out if they have toll booths there. We called as soon as we figured it out. Two phone calls and 60 minutes later, we were told to return to Ft. Lauderdale airport and the fee could be removed for the rest of our days. We told them we were on our way to Marco Island. They said to drive to the Naples airport. By this time we said forget it. When we checked the car in at Fort Meyers airport and complained, they told us that if we had gone to the airport to cancel, it could not be done. To cancel would be a $30.. dollar fee, $50.00 fee from the fast pass contract company and the total of the one toll we went through. Never Never using dollar again.

Pros:Staff were friendly and helpful
Cons:Their compact car, a Nissan Versa, was set to lock all doors automatically when the key was in the ignition and the doors closed. Being in Florida, I turned in the car to get the air conditioning going and closed the door, which automatically locked all the doors. It was parked, for goodness sakes! I had to call a tow company to unlock it...waited an hour while the car was just running. I felt extremely relieved that I didn't put my infant daughter in the car while the air conditioning was running and closed the door. It's dangerous! Terrible car and I don't know why a rental car company wouldn't disable this stupid feature!! Will never use Dollar again!
