Downers Grove Hotels

I liked the entire stay very much. The staff was friendly (even remembering the last time we visited). The staff made extra efforts to accommodate our schedule to make our room up at a time convent to us. ALL staff, from front desk to restaurant staff to housekeeping were cognizant of us enjoying our stay and were very responsive to our schedule as to not to in any way inconvenience us.

The high firm beds.

Prepay ahead. No other motel chains have ever required prepay. I have always paid at the end of my stay never at the beginning.

The price is very good and the rooms are nice.

Needs better vending machines

Good water pressure in the showers, overall a nice place.

Do not stay heree!!!! It's not worth the 20 bucks per night that you'll save. It's awful. The service is of some drunk lady. There is not even a printer. The rooms smell. The blankets are paper thin. And it's far from Asge.

Public spaces

Size of bathrooms in rooms if you were overweight they would not be accommodating for it was difficult to sit on toilet and close door to bathroom.

It was cold noise all night no towels or blanket I want my money back

We spent the weekend here and it was just ok. The floor had not been thoroughly vacuumed as I found crumbs and a quarter on the floor. I also found crumbs in the bed. The pool area had two large pieces of drywall missing from the ceiling....The breakfast selection was average at best. The eggs were rubbery and the sausage was low quality. I purchased orange juice at a local store because the juice at the hotel was watered down.

We really loved the location of this hotel. We were in Chicago area for a wedding, and wanted to take our youngest daughter into the city for sight seeing, so this was a great location for getting to the wedding, and for going into the city. Even though it is right off a highway, it felt selcuded. You couldn't hear any traffic (we were there Memorial Day weekend). The courtyard was awesome!! We ate our breakfast there each morning. Staff was great. We did have a spider in the sink and a couple fruit flies, but otherwise it was clean. Mattresses were way better than most hotels. Nice varitey of food at breakfast. We were disapointed that the shuttle to the train only runs M-F, but the front desk gave us detailed directions to the nearest train stop. When we go back, we will most likely stay here again!!

Great value for the rate per night. Breakfast is better than average.

Everything in the room was on extension cords very few accessible power plugs mini fridge did not work

The beds were so nice and sofe the pillows a plus...it was nice to have the extra room. Great idea if staying with additional guest to share a suite. The manager reception and the breakfast was really nice. The Chiefs were so nice and greeted you with a great big Good Morning and the omelettes and pancakes were really very good, such a plus to the old donuts and all the carbs. Very nice hotel and would stay and recommend this hotel to others.

Stayed for two days over a weekend. Great free breakfast, excellent room and will stay again.

Big rooms, adult swim, and location.

We had a toilet overflow in the middle of the night and there was no one to fix it. And they ran out of towels. They asked me what time they could fix the toilet in the am and non one showed up so I had to continue to follow up on this.

I booked 2 rooms and they were far from each other. I did not understand when I booked them together. It was very frustrating.

The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. Room was quiet and relaxing.

Yes. I was uncomfortable because the toilet was stopped up. And I only flushed twice the whole time I stayed. And when I got out of the shower the water in the toilet proceeded. Very scary and uncomfortable.

The location was convenient for the occasion I attended.

The room and service were much more than adequate. Clean, roomy, microwave and refrigerator available. Wonderful breakfast. Very enjoyable stay.

Didn't realize until the next morning that the mattress could be adjusted for comfort.

It was very clean, the gym actually had a free weight set. The room was nice and I felt the staff really cared about my experience

Best thing I like about the hotel: the staff, particularly Frank who picked us up from the Western Springs Metra. He arrived in the hotel's Mercedez Benz SUV (which impressed us as well) & he was very friendly, helpful w/ info about the area & the hotel.

The hotel impressed me with its modern look -- from the exterior to the interiors (both public areas and our room). It definitely fit with the Oak Brook Mall area. The location is a big plus for me as I could just walk a few yards to the restaurants and further on to the various shops of the mall. The staff were all friendly from Frank who picked us up and drove us back to the Metra Station (the hotel shuttles for free within a 5-mile radius, call front desk if you'd like to use the service), to the front desk staff who was very efficient in checking us in, and the bar staff who provided friendly service with my order and offered info about the hotel's restaurant that has additional menu I might like. Location is a little far from Chicago due to traffice, but the hotel is nice, friendly and has excellent service.

I was traveling for work with 3 coworkers - one checked in a day early and the rest of us checked in at 11pm. We waited at the front desk forever for a worker and finally had to go to the bar to have one sent over. Then they recognized that we had 2 rooms reserved but only had one clean and the desk worker was the only one available to clean the room which was going to take 30mins. She did call surrounding hotels to get one of us - but we did not get to eat breakfast together in the morning and by 11 at night we just wanted to get to bed. The fourth floor hallway lights were flashing and needed replaced - the hallway smelled musty. The breakfast in the morning was cold at 7 am - and rubbery like they were left over from the morning before. I would NOT recommend this hotel - not even for the value of the money.
