Pros:

Nothing, I was very upset my reservation was not available, sent to the wrong business, received the wrong car and ended up cancelling my reservation. Very upset about the whole experience.

Cons:

Due to the reservation screwups, I think an upgrade and a price match for my original reservation should have been made. But it wasn't, and they tried to give me a smaller size vehicle and my daughter is 5"11.

Pros:

Staff was very kind, received a free upgrade, car was clean, functioned perfectly, and made the trip enjoyable. Also, I really liked how smooth the pickup and delivery was. No hassles, no hidden fees, no surprises just what I needed.

Cons:

I think the price was a bit higher than competitors, but I was willing to pay 50 more for better customer service.

Pros:

2021 Kia Soul w/ 225 miles. Great car. Also, night manager on Friday night really made me feel at home, even arriving 5 mins to close.

Cons:

Getting shuttle to airport after turning car in. Agent said driver left at 1:30pm, not sure why.

Pros:

Better mileage than expected

Cons:

Pick up: disaster. Despite having RESERVED a mini-van class car, there was none available when I arrived. What's the point of a reservation? Instead they "upgraded" me to a CRV, which has half the storage space. Extremely unhappy because I planned to move across the country in the larger car, not a tiny CRV.

I tried canceling this booking less than 24 hours after paying, due to the California wildfires. I was told I could cancel since it hadn’t been 24 hours yet, but weeks have gone by and not one worker is willing to help issue a refund...

I booked and paid for this car. Had to change my trip due to COVID and could not change or modify do I lisf th Ed money I put down when I cancelled. In what way was this okay. Will NEVER NEVER NEVER book with Thrifty again. Money mongrels.

Intermediate SUV

I booked a reservation through Kayak for $93.50, but Hertz would not honor the price. They HAD the reservation, they simply wouldn't honor the price. The price they gave me was $166.13 and the person at the rental desk basically said "Take it or leave it". I had no choice but to take it since I had to be somewhere quickly

Bait & Switch tactics Asking me for my airline information but not booking me at the airport. To add to that, you book me at a place that closes at 5 pm knowing airlines have a 1 in 5 glitch such that when I’m delayed, the office is closed and I need to rebook at 3 times the price. Shame on you, despicable tactics. I will never use Kayak to book ever again

The Branch Manager had very poor customer service skills. There was a miscommunication on insurance coverage, he did not want to help me resolve the problem. I asked him to call the corporate office together so we could find a resolution and he refused to do that. When I insisted we make that call, he threatened to call the police if I did not leave the office immediately. I have never experienced this poor level of service in a car rental office. I expected better from Hertz, and maybe it is a need for customer service training for that particular manager, but it is a poor reflection on a good company.
