Cost was supposed to be $224.97 for a week, plus I paid about $88 for Allianz insurance when I booked stateside. On arrival at the rental place in Costa Rica I was told the Allianz insurance only covers collision, and I also need liability insurance. Not sure if this is true or a scam, but ended up paying $495 for the week (rental plus cheapest liability insurance option). The car had 74,000 miles. Low pressure light came on on the last day, so i had to have the gas station pump up the tires, though fortunately did not go flat.Reviewed Mar 21 2024

Pros:Staff was friendlyCons:Price is incredibly misleading. What I reserved was a week long rental for a SUV. When we finally got to the rental counter, they surprised us with government mandated insurance, which caused the price to skyrocket. By the end of it, the cheapest option we had, which was “insurance” that still has us liable for all damages and expenses to the sum of $500+ for a week. Had I known the total price before booking, I wouldn’t have even bothered. Look elsewhere for a car rental.Reviewed Oct 19 2019
