Clean Should you need to ask for toast tea or coffee to be topped up ?
An oasis of calm and refinement. A warm and friendly welcome on arrival. The staff and management are excellent.
The staff were friendly and they bent over backwards to help you. The hotel was very good. Drinks were overpriced (two drinks for £8)!
Decent room, clean Cracked tiles in bathroom floor, incredibly small shower cubicle. Dinner menu read very well and on the whole very good but could have been better with bminor tweaks and attention to detail. Service very formal and as a result a bit off putting.
Terrible cold in the night . No heating !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the homely feel and the way the staff took exceptional care of residents. The choice of breakfast is wonderful and wonderful evening dining. The hotel is also walking distance from Epsom shopping centre and railway station. No complaints great choice if you want a typical English small hotel country experience with excellent cuisine. Current Chef is Fench.
Lovely location, very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast with a good range of choices. Nice views. There was no bar as such and thought £10 for a glass of wine was very expensive. Shower took a long time to heat up and was very weak.
Excellent location and food. Nice staff Wireless not accessible from my room...and instructions for lan connection not really userfriendly..
All round a very good Hotel None
The staff are all so friendly and nothing is a problem to them. It is a warm welcoming hotel it feels like staying at a friends house. Breakfast was very good too.
The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great! Staff were welcoming and friendly
comfy bed, pleasant staff. not enough t/bags etc.no extras ie:shower cap etc;. this hotel does not reflect p/inn adverts with Lenny.
The locality was central, staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful and the food was good definately great value for money. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Have no complaints.
Nice clean room. Comfortable bed. Only one really small point. The tea and coffee making fascilities in the room were rather "tight" - one coffee would have used up everything and a quick biscuit would have been a nice tough. This may seem petty but the two of us arriving at the room prior to going out would have appreciated this little "extra".
Fine and convenient - quiet as well
Very good accommodation with the bonus of next door restaurant offering excellent food choice and quality.
Large spacious room with clean bathroom and linens Staff very helpful but if you hqve heavy luggage there is no lifts to rooms on second floor
Very good location close to center of Epsom and the University. Only 10 min walking distance.Very good sized and clean room.Confortable parking . Excellent hotel staff. The hotel has not any own seating room .The breakfast is served in a adjacent restaurant/pub called Brewers Fayre
Well placed; attractive and quiet setting; selection of restaurants nearby; sensible, functional, spacious no-frills room with good bed; good breakfast. Easily booked with last-minute cancellation possible. No bad points
it was IN the airport terminal The terminal is DEPRESSING. No WINDOWS! It’s like a little luxury prison cell. There was no private area in the hotel to do online work, went to one of the more human feeling pub-like restaurants.
Just as advertised, comfortable and functional room at an affordable price, just a couple of minutes away from airport security as well as train station. The space available is quite tight, so don't expect to 'enjoy' it much (even though bed is very comfortable and shower is very nice), this is no leisure hotel, but rather 'get it done' style accommodation. After using the shower, the floor is wet so if you need to use the toilet after you'll be stepping on water and then out again onto the carpet. Again, functional but less than ideal. Maybe the floor should be slightly tilted in the shower so it drains/dries quicker.
Very comfy bed and very friendly staff! Shower wasn't separated from the rest of the bathroom, so the entire bathroom floor was soaked.
So convient in the south terminal at gatwick. Clean and everything you need for one night. Didn't hear any planes, which I was worried about.
The location is excellent. Staff were efficient but a little arrogant. Problems connecting to the internet in the room. The connection was very slow. The location of the room safe at floor-level is ridiculously inconvenient. The safe did not work. I'll try the Hilton next time.
location was why I selected this hotel. location was excellent Very expensive!
The best part was the access to the airport which allowed us to wake up and check in easily. The location was fantastic and the staff were very very helpful. Will definitely use this hotel everytime i am flying out of gatwick.
location to the terminal restaurant was expensive
The lovely atrium and the easy access to Gatwick airport together with helpful and friendly staff.
The Softel is less than five minutes walk from the Gatwick check-in desks via a slopped covered walkway. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere throughout warm and friendly. An excellent place to spent the before an early flight, I would definitely stay again.
There wasn't anything not to like. We arrived at 7.00 pm and left at 5.00 a.m. Did not like the restaurant. We booked a table and the food was not up to the standard we would have expected.
Convenient location on airport Price of room service breakfast
Ease and access to airport None
Staff were friendly. Room very clean. Beds comfortable, not sagging in my middle as some are. Excellent location for Gatwick airport travellers. Good restaurants. Priced reasonably. They view! But cannot help that. But the large windows were nice.
Ease of accessing the internet
The hotel was extremely clean, the staff efficient and friendly and the whole safari theme was wonderful. The outside decking and rooms overlooking the safari park were terrific. The pool and spa were lovely and our room was stunning. We will be back again. The breakfast was fabulous but very expensive
lovely location and spacious accomodation
Excellent food, good swimming pool, friendly staff and within walking distance of Chessington World of Adventures
The swimming pool was fantastic Enjoyed the fact two tv's. Nice to have the childrens area sectioned off from the adults. It would have been nice to have had a sofa in the room instead of a chair. Also toiletries would have help (Shampoo, Conditioner etc. No hot water in the morning.
We have stayed in hotels allover the world and have never found staff so friendly, courteous and helpful. It was an absolute joy and we will return Not enough Coffee in the room!
Very helpful and friendly staff, didn't had a fridge in the room to store my baby food but staff helped to keep them in the concierge fridge and delivered bottles as per requested. Comfy, clean and spacious room size and bathroom. Great place for the family to spend the weekend. Would definitely go back again
Brand new hotel, only open three days when we arrived. No problem with late arrival. Good english and buffet breakfast. Right on site at Chessington World of Adventures. A great place to spend the weekend and I would imagine a great weekday hotel for business visitors to the area. Night team still learning and had to deal with influx of late arrivals. Found someones laptop in our room which was a little worrying at the time but its new and these things happen. Would stay there again.
Having a pillow is a great idea. It was set in a lovely location and everything was clean and new. It would have been good if plainer snacks were available in bar and restaurant and some staff were difficult to understand .
Nice themed hotel ideal for trips to chessington. Super friendly staff try hard to make sure you enjoy your stay. THere were also lots of little safari extras. Overpriced food in the restaurant.
The view of the zebras and antelope, and a section of the zoo opening to guests early evening. A real treat. This hotel is good to stay in as a one off. The food was very pricey, I paid for a continental breakfast £12 for a bowl of cereal and a slice of toast.
Comfortable, clean room friendly staff Air-con unnecessary,(1st of May in England!!) obtrusive and couldn't be turned off without turning the power off. Breakfast was disappointing - eggs cold, sausages hard. Very expensive for what it was.
It was close. Check-in & check-out was easy.
because of booking with booking.com they gave my 18yr old son and me 55yrs a room with a twin bed checking in at midnight after driving 8hrs from Germany. They said they could upgrade me with a surcharge. After waiting until 1am they gave us another tiny room with 2 single beds. All this although I had booked a double room for 4 nights.......
Clean, Breakfast good, Staff good & helpful. Ignored at the bar, Shower temperature too hot and hard to control the temperature to the right setting.
Cleanliness of Holiday Inn, every member of staff efficient. Location on riverside and close to Kingston and Hampton Court. Lovely area. Good car parking facilities. No bad points.
Professional attentive staff- good location for my business meetings;
Breakfast was a bit chaotic, I dont think there are enough staff to clear, clean tables, replenish bread, fruit, etc. But all staff smiley and helpful, just overworked at 9.A.M. when we breakfasted
I liked clean beds and towels. I didn't like layer of dust on TV, 50% of expired milk in a fridge, slow and paid internet (at least should be fast).
My brother and his wife stayed at this hotel on their anniversary. I live locally so the location of the hotel was idea. The hotel room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the river. There are also lovely pubs and walks close to the hotel and the busy market place of Kingston Upon Thames is just minutes walk away. The bathroom was a little cramped although beautifully appointed.
Very helpful staff.very new and clean environment. Car parking difficult.breakfast a lot of money
Quiet, easy parking and communal rooms were very good Not possible to eat in the evening other than on your knee and we couldn't get afternoon tea either
Fantastic location so peaceful , welcoming ,food was fantastic , best pasta I have tasted in a very long time - just an overall great experience throughly enjoyed my time with you , I have already recommended it to my business collegues ! I struggle to think of any ...
Good service, attentiveness of the staff, excellent facilities We were not advised when we booked that evening meals are not normally provided in the dining room. Supper trays were provided and the quality was good although limited to "sandwich or burgers"
Got a free upgrade, room was lovely, pefect surprise setting for my partner. Room came with a Bose sound system, nice bathroom, big bay window with great views to London and the surrounding countryside. Even had a little fridge which is a rarity nowadays. A shower curtain would have been good.
Very peaceful and quiet surroundings. lovely place for weekend getaway.
We felt really welcome upon arrival. The atmosphere was very homely. A beautiful period house with perfect interior. The breakfast was more than enough and in a cosy formal sun-soaked breakfast room with a view onto the garden. Don't miss the billiards room for a game on the huge table! The pool was also excellent. Great place for a romantic weekend or family reunion. 10mins from Hampton Court Palace (Henry 8th home), great day out.
I like everything about this place. The key is too big.
The area My room
free wifi & parking, nice bed the hotel was quite empty & they still put up on the 3rd floor..lots of steps, that somehow happens very often when booking thru your website.
Everything was fine. Staff, location, facilities. A really beautiful place. -
I always sty at the Bosco when in London since it is near the office I need to go to. But for London area I must say this Hotel sticks out positively. The staff is very nice. It has everything I get in a 4 star Hotel in London as well. but is is half price. Can strongly recommend to book it!
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. We could only find one working ice machine in the hotel. The bed bugs we encountered weren't very pleasant either.
The hotel is tired. Thankfully, I was upgraded to a newer room. Mattress is super hard. To get to the room, you must walk tons. The hotel needs serious renovation. Because options are limited for overnight flight.
Location and very comfortable bef Everything is fine for me
Restaurant way over priced. Not many options for a reasonable, casual meal.
Location and staff very old decor in room and bathroom, the bed was uncomfortable, missing towels and only one set of pillows were provided
Great location A little pricey!
The convenience of the location, the beds were very comfortable. Our air conditioner was broken when we arrived and the room was incredibly hot. The engineer was very nice and apologized quickly and requested a room change. It then took concierge a further hour to relocate us (10 rooms down the hall). At which point our children were completely starving and exhausted. The food in the garden restaurant buffet was mostly good, though expensive, but we were seated in a dark corner because we were a family, where the staff were already setting the tables for breakfast around us. Service was polite but very slow and waiters were unaware of the fact that children ate for free.
Our reservation was not in the system. They did not give us access to Internet for our booking but we understood that free Internet would be included based on the booking criteria.
Proximity to airport The hotel is terribly maintained. Had to switch rooms twice due to bathroom related maintenance issues. They finally put me in a decent room on the executive lounge, which was OK but even that had its issues. AC was terrible and the spacing between the bathroom sink and faucet was very awkward, making it difficult to effectively wash your hands. All in all a pretty bad hotel. The staff was nice though.
The best part of this hotel is that it is so close to the London Gatwick hotel it may as well be a part of it. Very convenient! There could be a few more amenities to may the stay more memorable.
The hotel has been tastefully refurbished and was beautifully clean. We found staff helpful and welcoming. Set a pleasant area, Villiers Lodge is conveniently located within walking distance of bus and rail routes into the city and local sights. Excellent value for money!
This recently opened hotel is a beautifully decorated and fitted hotel close to the amenities of Surbiton. It has a good ambience and my room was extremely comfortable with a very well fitted en suite bathroom. The breakfast was good. I will definately be back, and although on business this time I intend to stay with my wife in the future when we are in the area. I could not fault the hotel.
excellent and friendly family run hotel and good food.
Room clean, modern and comfortable Heating did not work in the room. The breakfast was served cold.
Very comfortable, cosy and for me well placed as I needed to go to Clayhill Hall of Residence, very close by. Heating at night was not available. Needed to speak to someone at night and no one was availabel had to phone.....not practical at all.
Bathroom was finished like new Limited headroom in attic rooms
Staff are just great and very helpful. The breakfasts are really good also being freshly prepared off the menu. Location is quiet Double room was ok but very small with basic facilities. There is nothing by way of restaurants or cafes etc close by. The lodge is in a suburban street with 15 minute walk to Surbiton for restaurants etc. However access to London central or Kingston from Surbiton is easy via public transport
Relaxed, friendly and cosy. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Beds are a bit small for us tall Ducht people
The room was of a particular high standard. Staff were welcoming and on hand to help. Good breakfast selection.
Since we didn't need to use their 5 GBP shuttle service to Gatwick, their price was goodl. Bar nice but empty, did not try the food. Proximity to Six Bells pub was the best feature. Parking tight and tricky.
Very reasonably priced.
Lovely boutique hotel, clean, fresh with lots of character, will stay again.
The young man who picked me up at the airport and checked me in was extremely helpful in pointing me toward some of the nearby sights I would otherwise have missed. Entire staff was friendly, helpful and just all-around nice. I loved the community, and the hotel's location, and the convenience of the airport transfers made entire visit outstanding. I would absolutely stay there again, and would highly recommend to others.
I liked the convenient airport transportation. Relaxing and friendly lounge in which to have a drink. Room was comfortable, clean and warm. Great place to stay to catch a flight at Gatwick. No complaints.
An excellent hotel. Superb location with a fabulous atmosphere. Great staff.
friendliness of staff and Pub down stairs. I suggest people choose the continental breakfast!
Easy access to the airport with complimentary shuttle to and from. A nice breakfast included with room price.
Ease of getting around, helpful and friendly staff, generally quiet location
easy access to gatwick airport with pick up/drop off by the hotel. after europe did find it rather expensive to eat and bar prices very high, but this is england!
The location is great, rooms clean and staff helpful. Waiting for the lifts became quite a pain. I was lucky on the 2nd floor so could take the stairs, but even at 5am it was difficult. Wanted to try the restaurant too, but very busy - would have had to wait over an hour - lucky there's lots nearby or across at the south terminal.
Very close to airport Lack of check in service
The staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful. Food was good and rooms comfortable and clean.
the mattress and bedding was excellent paying for the parking
Easy to find location from website and is signposted when on the approaching road. Polite friendly staff and clean hotel.
Convienent location Dreadfull catering & and catering staff
close to station, high standrad of facilities, excellent food.
wide and clean room The reservation through Arora hotel web site does not work.
Easy to access train from hotel, airport and city of London. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy walking distance to a local mall.
The staff is very friendly and hard working The trains are very loud
Generally good, but WiFi sign in system a hassle and card swipe door keys real pain rarely if ever worked first time and usually took 3-4 tries at least.
Clean and wide room very low water pressure from the tap
Charged for 2 breakfast but was alone. Should have asked me first before charging.
It's in a great central location, so you can go out in Crawley & eat/drink/shop etc. Even though it's next to the railway line, we didn't hear the trains. Hotel decoration lovely, very clean, very helpful staff and it has excellent facilities. Our room was very spacious & they'd thought of everything. En-suite was huge compared to other hotels, it had a separate bath & shower. Lots of thought had been put into the design & comfort of the room/hotel. Really pleased with the hotel & we'd definately stay there again, especially if we were taking our daughter, as there are connecting rooms. Also have a shuttle bus to Gatwick airport which is really close by, but again didn't hear any noise from the planes.
Convenient location Noise of air conditioning system, inability to get fresh air into room, always having to wait for attention at reception
the room was clean and tidy on arriving at the hotel you have to pay for your car parking even for the time you are staying in the hotel. The hotel even those it has a 4 star rating there is no one to take your bags and show you to your room
First time I have had to pay for a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. The whole point in staying near the hotel is that normally you get free courtesy transport
Very close to Gatwick Airport. Helpful, friendly staff. Very nice hotel. As window didn't open, had to leave air conditioning on all night which was very noisy, so didn't sleep very well.
TV control doesn't work
Absolutely aweful service, terrible customer relations, poor food.. no choice. Room service was a joke! Had to help other customers...
Location poor from airport ....No Air con in rooms and windows couldnt open .Water cold in shower ...a dreadful experience for a Ramada Hotel .
very clean / friendly staff limited wine list that was overly expensive.
restful & quiet atmosphere, giving us time to unwind after a hectic 6week tour of the U.K.. Staff were helpful & very pleasant,& food was great.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The que for checking in was quite long and we waited a while.
It was fair stay but not comfortable......the service must improve ...also the menu must be changed and finally the stafff must inform their customers about the breakfast time,we asked the reception and they said breakfast is served till 10.30pm and when we came down at 9.30..they advsied that it's finished... service and menu....
