At first we thought the room had an odor but quickly realized it was just the area. Clean and cheap!
This hotel is currently practicing consumer fraud, basically...website advertises "free breakfast", and next morning guests find out that they are "under renovation" and no breakfast available, and no local restaurant voucher provided to compensate..."BUYER BEWARE"...not as advertised or contracted for...had we known that "breakfast" was a lie, would have stayed elsewhere (as we will do next time in Flagstaff)...enough said
The bed was very uncomfortable, I am sure the mattress is pretty old and pillows should also be replace. Thank You
I was traveling alone and had a late check in after an all-day work commitment in Flagstaff. Once settled in my room, all I wanted to do was take a shower. Once in the bathroom I noticed there was no soap, shampoo, or any toiletries at all. I called down to the front desk and was told they wouldn't bring it to me, I would have to come down to the front desk and retrieve it myself. After a long day of work I was already in my robe and ready for my much needed shower; I was extremely annoyed that they forgot to stock my room then would't offer to bring a simple bar of soap up to me. Poor customer service. When morning arrived, housekeeping barged into my room at 8am. No warning, they just walked in to clean at 8am. Since I was so abruptly awoken and couldn't fall back asleep, I left the room for breakfast and will never return.
I thought the hotel was great. Centrally located and clean. The continental breakfast was good too! My son leved the waffles!!!
Location and free breakfast. This place has the most uncomfortable beds I have ever tried to sleep on in my life. Plus the rooms are surprisingly small for what you pay per night. Not worth it.
Only thing we likedid was the clean room. Their customer service is horrible. the beds were uncomfortable, two of the front dest girls started fighting with each other. The day we checked in one of the guys at front desk didn't want to help us check in, he had me wait till the other front desk girl was off the phone. She was on the phone for 10min till he decided to help us. It was just an all around bad experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone
Everything No meat at breakfast
Continental breakfast had a variety of choices, location was ideal and close distance to variety of stores / restaurants.
Very nice motel close with very friendly staff. Good vaalue for the price. Clean. Room was somewhat small.
Nice rate $50 lower than competitors. The WiFi was almost non existent. If you are planning on doing business, find somewhere else. Breakfast not so great.
Location of hotel was excellent and value couldn't be beaten. Nice, comfortable, and quiet stay. Nothing
Good location. Close to down town and easy to access from Interstate Terrible price for the room (jacked up prices for holiday weekend, go figure), very run down. Not impressed at all. Room smelled like cigarettes, not enough parking, we had to park on the complete opposite side of the hotel. Not to mention the train (literally right behind the hotel) that ran all night long, so needless to say it was a very sleepless weekend.
Staff was excellent, very courteous, and made our stay enjoyable. Even the cleaning crew was polite and great to talk to, as well as the front desk.
Easy access to Flagstaff and the price. Near the train tracks and they run all night. Thin walls so neighbor noise. Dingy room but surfaces were clean. Not easy to locate room and no directions from staff but "it's in the back".
Location is the only thing decent about this motel It's dirty, overpriced, no amenities, no staff and not for families!
It was too hot in the room, they did not have the air on and it never cooled off til in the morning when it was time to leave. And there were bugs in the bathroom.
Stiff greeting and no real directions. Room had heavy smoke smell. Front desk said they would send someone to spray but I declined and asked for different room. I was accommodated. The next room had a drawer on the bedside table that wouldn't close and clearly got in the way of getting into bed. The front send a nice man to put tape on which was acceptable to me. i don't think I'd stay here again.
Need a fan that runs constantly/white noise to muffle trains ask night.
Clean, quiet. Decent breakfast. Beds and pillows poor. Expected better for price charged.
The rooms are gorgeous. Very quiet. Heater/AC worked amazing. Complimentary soaps and shampoos were good quality. Beds are sooooo comfy! Blow dryer was broken. Called front desk to let them know. Took three tries before reaching anyone. Was told they'd send someone up but 2.5 hours later, no one had come. Tried to call front desk again to no avail. Walked to front desk to cancel so we could go to sleep. Needed to use the laundry. 9:45pm, laundry room locked though the times stated were 6am-11pm. Rooms appeared clean but my daughter dropped her earring and we were crawling on the floor looking for it. There was old kitty litter on the floor in the corners and under the chair and fridge. There was plastic celophane under counter and bed. And old crusty Skittles under the bed! Seems like housekeeping does obvious ares but doesn't try very hard. Wanted to get free breakfast but thought it was served til 10. Only served 6-9am.
The location was perfect and the room was clean. I did not like being written up at 8am by a housekeeper who didn't understand that we didn't need our room clean. I wish there was a do not disturb sign or something!
Room was spacious, clean and comfortable No elevators- indicate at reservation if cannot do stairs! Cannot bring breakfast to your room.
Front desk Lauren terrific. Bar over priced. $20 for two drinks with tip.
It was cozy, clean, and located centrally to outdoor fun. NAU campus is conveniently down the street. Frisbee Disc Golf course is just around the corner. Sakura is located in the hotel.
Grounds and hotel are very well maintained. Personnel are friendly and courteous. Shower drain was slow
The cookies at check in. And breakfast. The parking lot was very icy. It really needed some salt. Also parking was limited. And they did not have any rooms with a view.
The staff was outgoing and went out of their way to be helpful. Twice I went looking to get some milk to have with my cookies and on both occasions they got me that milk without any request of payment. A small but meaningful gesture. Some overly noisy children that's poor parenting not poor hotel staff.
Location The room felt dated. Frayed carpet, etc/
The Manager straightened out a mistake of mine on the reservation. Thanks Kristen!
Clean, updated rooms, nice gym and fitness area. Half of the parking lot was blocked off for a private venue and guest were forced to park off site both Friday and Saturday. The staff didn't mention this until after checkin. Also both nights that we stayed there was very loud music over powering the volume of my tv in our room. I called twice each night and complained about it but the music was loud until almost midnight both nights. Double Tree did end up giving us a free nights stay but only after dealing with it for 2 nights.
The entrence was very cozy and the bar was great. The room was nice, the bed was very comfy. The only thing it the A/C was pretty bad and dust was all around the vent area.
Location was close to NAU. The room was not clean at all and everything in the room was old and the room smelled.
location, pool breakfast room too small
clean rooms, good location close to downtown - walking distance poor breakfast
The rooms were a little smaller than expected. Also i was told that i would be able to get early check in but when i arrived they were not able to help me. I had to wait til 3 pm to get my room even though i arrived there at 1. The room did come with a microwave, mini fridge, and a coffee maker. Beds were comfortable and clean. Tv signal kept cutting out. This isn't my first choice but i would stay here again. Like i said it's still a good value.
We had a room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean and spacious. The location is nice with restaurants on walking distance from the hotel. Excellent value for money. The breakfast was poor, but that is not unusual in the USA. The swimming pool is in the middle of the parking lot, which is rather weird.
Very rude staff! Arrived at 3 AM and the next morning got threatened to leave there before noon or get charge for another day!
It was close to everything, downtown, restaurants, gas and highway. Traffic congestion
Close to our favorite eatery, Oregano's. Value and cleanliness. Nothing fancy and fine.
Very clean and very roomy
good central location in town, good value, clean, nice staff breakfast
1. Breakfast bar featuring omlets to order. 2. 'Social hour from 5:00-7:30 PM with free well drinks. 3. Helpful friendly staff. 4. All the amenities you could want. Great location, but heavy traffic made it hard to enter at times. This is not a new building so some of the features are dated.
Best Value - incredible free made to order breakfast and free cocktails and apps in the evening.
The hotel is located perfectly for any activity associated with the NAU campus. The included breakfast and complimentary drinks make it a really affordable hotel for the area. The room was decently kept but the shower would clog up after running the water for a short period of time. The pull-out sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable and was not even an option to sleep on. The mattress provided little to no padding. The beds were actually much smaller than a normal hotel room and they were equipped with very uncomfortable pillows.
Nice facility in a convenient location. Was woken up by a loud screeching noise from the air handler at 0530 AM. Staff tried to have me wait until morning for technician. I had to argue and the demand another room. The staff member told me he would give me a discount to the rate which I never received. I brought this up with the front desk upon checkout and was again told they would take care of it but again, it never happened. I will be complaining to Hilton corporate.
They overcharged me!
The location to restaurants nearby was nice and the room was a decent place to get warm as a home base before venturing out into the snow. Now getting a room on time as reserved and the services paid for is another thing. When we arrived an hour after check-in our room was not ready. We were told we would have to wait 30-60 minutes and then check back in to see if one was available. The same was said for at least 10 others as we waited. When we finally did check-in we had no soap in the room's bathroom and had to request this. The beds were lacking on the comfort and in the morning it was a mad house for breakfast. Little to nothing was available. I grabbed two of three remaining yogurts and a few mini muffins for our family of four. When asking at the front desk if anything else would be put out we were told they would make a final attempt to refill. this was 45 minutes before the end of breakfast and it never was re-filled. Besides cereal, muffins, a waffle maker and yogurt I saw nothing. No protein was offered only carb options. This was a big let down. The following morning we skipped it and went across the street to Coco's. I booked partially for the included breakfast which was a joke and mostly non-existent. It may have been a busy holiday but that is no excuse. You staff for those situations and plan ahead. If you are looking for a place you can probably do better.
Clean, comfortable, close to interstate. Nicely laid out! Good to have a laundry. No variety for breakfast. Too many carbs. Many machines broken.
Pets allowed, some barking dogs.
I stayed here because of their incusive pet policy and because the rooms do not smell like smoke. It is also safe and the hallways are interior to the building. People are not picking up their rubbish or dog poo outside. There should be more dog dirt bags as well as better lighting. The cleaning staff didn't do a good job vacuming under the edges of the beds or around the edges of the room. I wish they also provided paper or plastic cups and plates rather than styrofoam as styrofoam is very bad for the environment. Other hotels in flag also have a recycling program for plastics, cans, and newspapers. Why can't you do that? I also do not like the breakfast as there are not organic whole grain choices, sugar free or even decent coffee.
Quiet location (NO TRAIN NOISE!), the room was spacious and clean, and the location was close enough to allow for walking to nearby restaurants. Parking is a bit challenging, it get's very crowded in the breakfast area and the breakfast items get wiped out faster than they can be restocked.
Too many dogs...pee and poo on snow all around entrances. Unsanitary. Did not enforce pet area
Free breakfast. Wifi. No elevator.
Our room was very clean. People were friendly. It was quiet.
great space room, good beds and free parking and internet breakfast was horrible! first no milk for serials, no jam or anyting for your bagel. Only jus and coffee available. after complaining, there was some milk and cheese cream.
They had a fridge and microwave in every room. They let me have a late checkout. The only bad thing, the 2nd day, I came back sunburned and grabbed the lotion bottle they leave for you and it was used already, almost empty. That was pretty gross.
price lousy wifi
This place is way past it's prime. It's just tired out. While everything worked the overall vibe was of decline. The materials in the room, the horrible room heater, the drafty windows and the front door look that didn't lock added to the impression. The building sign is broken and sticks out into the upper walkway so that you might impale your eye if you're not paying attention.
One night stop - convenient for visit to Grand Canyon.
very good. Staff is available and breakfast essential but good. There is fridge and not much noise. It is in very good position to visit Grand Canyon
the receptionist was very helpful, hotel was fine, very near to the city center which is full of bars and restaurant
The rooms were clean! The beds were comfy.
I can say much as I got there around 10 00 PM then I went to bed next mrning I left. As i bookeed the hotel on web it loooked so nice but when I got therer it was the totally different.
Rooms were big and clean, internet was great!
It was clean and fine, with REALLY close parking. The clerk was friendly, and it was super affordable. And the view of the mountains was great!
Able to park right outside door of hotel, parking lot was well lit, friendly staff. Bed was uncomfortable, it sunk down in the middle, towels were very thin.
simple and clean rooms, it was over Labor Day weekend most other hotels were either sold out or exteremely expensive. Surprisingly comfortable beds. No coffee maker, no maid servie the first day, noise from nearby traffic. But it's ony a few minutes ride from downtown.
The rooms were very nice and very clean. Good value. The outside was old so it was a pleasant surprise the excellent and new condition of rooms. The location was perfect for NAU and all areas visited in Flagstaff. na
Room was adequate for one night stay. The bed was comfortable. The staff was courteous. No coffee maker in the room.
Visitors to NAU which the university is right accross the street. We walked to the corner Walgreens, and just steps in the opposite direction through the parking lot, to one of our favorite eating places, the Galaxy Diner! Will be back to the Budget Inn, October 27th.
Nice clean rooms, courteous staff. Good value. Will definitely use them again.
It was very close to downtown and the other areas I visited. I couldn't find a Channel Guide but then again, I wasn't there to watch TV :) Maybe an extra trash bin in the room. There was one in the bathroom but we had to share it.
Beds were comfortable, room clean and spacious, nice TV. Shower water pressure
online booking, cable tv, huge bed, fridge, no insects, very cheap, nice staff bathroom a bit dirty, towels a bit dirty, room smelled a bit, bit of train noise
Nothing Everything the rooms were horrible
For $30 a night I really didn't expect much. It was a place to sleep. There was quite a bit of hair - that was not mine - in the bathtub. There was a paper plate and left over food in the refridgerator. I was unable to use the bedside lamp or outlet because of the way the room was wired.
Reasonable price, friendly, courteous staff. Central location. Room is small, but adequate considering it had a king size bed. Reasonably quiet for a motel. Railroad noise was not a problem. No one in office at checkout time, so could not get receipt for stay. Ice machine not working, did not appear to have worked in a long time, Soda vending machine also not working. Sink & tub does drain a little slow!
New air conditioner The price for the room ($100) is ridiculous. Hotel of last resort. Wish I knew before I booked it. Room was probably clean but couldn't tell. Tub was peeling badly. Pay more money and stay somewhere else.
It was good. Only issue is that the WiFi was inaccessible in the evening.
Nothing The hotel was the worst one I have ever stayed in
It had a bed. We arrived really late after a full day of travel and the room was shabby with a broken toilet seat and the electricity didn't work. There is no room phone so we had to use our cell to find the number to call and tell them about the electricity.
Were were passing through on out way to the grand canyon. It was perfect for this function A in-room stove or hot plate would have been great
The attendants in the front office were very, very sweet. I really don't usually write reviews... but for over $100 you should know what you're getting in to. There were stains all over the couch, there were stains that looked like blood on one of the blankets, the room smelled like mothballs and smoke (even though it was non-smoking), you could hear everything outside and the lotion in the dispenser might have actually been glue. Super gross. Also, if you are a person of color: don't stay here unless you are ok with other guests standing together to silently smoke cigarettes and watch every move you make while completely ignoring your "hello" when you try to break the tension and make it feel just a little less Reconstruction Era South-esque. Best of Luck.
Location, price, and WiFi signal Smelly, worn, and dirty - really needs to be gutted and redone
Over all it was a good hotel. It was cheap so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. The room was clean and the staff was nice.
Over priced, shower clogged, the wifi didn't work inside room I had to go outside told the employee that was in charge he said he was going to reset but still didn't work
Comfy bed with a decent size room. Good amenities in the room. Nice breakfast. Hair in shower drain.
Free parking, ok breakfast included, ok value for money. A little bit old, didn't feel too clean. Dark room.
Great prices, clean rooms, great staff
Priced ok, centrally located Cold room, latching door lock broke, uncomfortable stay for a family
Convenient location and good price on rooms. Bedding was a bit hard.
nothing to like The inn is located in a noisy area. The rooms are smelly. The rooms are too small to put your feet. The bed are broken with a support stub extended out. I was stumbled by the stub and get injured. The bathroom is too small and no space to hold even the soap and shampoo. Even though the rooms were priced the lowest they are not worth your money. The continental breakfast area and the front desk area are next to each other and dirty. The beakfast is bad.
convenient and good for the price
The bathroom was big. The shower was great. The staff was really nice. It smelled and was kind of ghetto. The sheets on the bed were wrong side out as if they didn't wash it and flipped them over. Cheap bedding all around. Location looks kind of sketchy. Over priced and WiFi wasn't good. Over priced for what is offered.
very reasonably priced. room was clean, spacious. staff were friendly and they had pretty tasty chocolate donuts at the complimentary breakfast. good, standard motel fair. its a motel. a fine motel. but still a motel. you know?
THE OWNERS TOOK GREAT CARE OF MY NEEDS. OVERALL EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. I LOOK FORWARD TO STAYING THERE AGAIN ON MY NEXT TRIP
Cleanliness and Location
It was in the heart of Flagstaff, near several eateries and near local entertainment. The customer service was sub par, although the rates were cheap, the rooms were much more run down than I had expected. You could tell that they had put several "band aids" on the place to appear clean and orderly. I would not recommend this motel. Our phone did not work, there was only enough WARM water for half of one shower. The microwave did not heat, the nightstand had a really sharp edge. but, like I said in the title, you get what you pay for.
Excellent value, comfortable beds (which is rare for this scale of price), great proximity to everything, clean, renovated room and very friendly front desk. Would definitely stay again.
Close to shopping and restaurantS, close to I-40. No chairs and cloth hangers in the room.
Motel is clean & comfortable with no frills. The hosts were pleasant & helpful
I made a reservation at 7.30, I was there at 10.30. Stuff told me that he had called me, and I had not replied, after that he had given my room(deluxe double queen-60$) to another one.He offered me another room(single queen) for (80$). I was with girl friend, It was late, and we were tired, so I accepted. Then after opening the door, I saw it was not single bed, it was a double bad room like I reserved. It is not fair, he was not honest. Although he had a same room, he denied, asked for more money. Besides, he told me that otherwise I could have canceled my reservation. (Cancellation fee was about 60$). never again!!!
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean and I didn't have any real pressing issues. More electrical outlets would have been nice. I had to unplug the clock / tv / lamp in order to use my laptop or charge my various electronic devices. Internet connection could be a bit more reliable as it kept going down sporadically. The decor was outdated, but I was only there to sleep (not spend time in my room), so it was not a big deal for me.
the room was set up nice the staff was nice a okay cheep place to stay there is not a pool it says online there is..the bedding was dirty the towels dirty there was black ants in the bathroom every night tv was small an old
The heat is not working and the water get warm after 10 mn
Staff & location
Reasnable price, good standard compared with other motels Alarm clock broken and clearly much older than the motel.
Proximity to downtown
Microwave and refrigerator in room. The bed was not comfortable, curtain wouldn't close all the way, you can feel the cold air blowing under the door and to top it off we had to find another room the second night of our stay at a different location at midnight because the party next door spilt over to our door front making it hard to get our kids/baby back into our room and when I went to the front office I was told the party was being cleaned up. But it certainly didn't look that way with people still play games, drinking and smoking 15 min later. I will not be staying at this location again.
It was a great price and the hotel was pretty clean and quiet. It is right in the middle of town so it is easy to get to everything. The water took a long time to get warm.
Free breakfast, clean room, comfortable beds with new bedding. Updated and had both fridge and microwave along with iron, coffee maker, and hair dryer. Would stay again. Check-in was at 2pm but our room wasn't ready until 3pm so we had to wait in the parking lot.
The room was clean and the towels were folded into nice little fans. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for my husband, me and 2 yr old daughter. I really liked that the rooms come with a mini fridge and a microwave. It was also pretty cool that they had an indoor swimming pool and hot tub which are both clean and they even had a motorized chair to assist a handicapped person into either. There was a pretty good continental breakfast too which included packaged oatmeal, coffee, juice, cereal, toast, frozen waffles, yogurt, fruit and even an automatic pancake maker which my daughter and I loved! The hotel was walking distance to a Dunkin Donuts, Jimmy Johns, Chipotle, Chick-fil-a and about a mile (witch was also a nice walk) to a park. We had a problem with our shower clogging up so we couldn't take showers the first night because by the time we realized it the maintenance man was already gone. The next day it got fixed around noon but one of the front desk workers let my husband take a shower in another empty room since he had to work.
Nothing Staff was rude, room and hallway smelled, room decor was very dated, difficult parking and access
hot breakfast was good, front desk staff were good paper walls, i could hear everything that wasn't in my room, sleep sucks when it's not quiet.
Nice quiet location that is close to many attractions and restaurants. The breakfast selection was better than I expected. The air conditioning did not blow any air; luckily it was Fall and not too warm. The worst part was the window did not open either. The water in the shower would squeal as it warmed up.
Location to NAU and they are pet friendly
Staff very attentive and friendly. Wonderful breakfast to start the day. Bed was not comfortable at all...
There was nothing good about this place except it was near a McDonalds and Starbucks. Walked in to a HOT room. One small wall a/c unit, the room never really cooled off. The beds were aweful, could tell hat they were very old...hard to sleep on. Many things were broken around the room and had quick fix repairs (inc shower). This room was not worth the $55 I paid, not recommend. The pictures were very misleading.
Not much. It was cheep. The room is a dump. The power went out 4 times (blown circuit In the room next door). Loud. Bad a/c. Neighbors were crack heads.
IT WAS A VERY BIG ROOM. THE BEDS WERE NICE AND COMFORTABLE. I WOULD STAY HERE ANYTIME.
clean bed frige, microwave, tv, mcdonalds next door the shower stal had mold around it, they obusly don't clean good there was long finger nails on floor ewww, were the cooler unit was in the wall was not sealed you could see cracks to outside witch made the traffic noise loud all night...no breakfast one soda machine out of order
