Pros:Nothing
Cons:After arriving at the Fox counter and finding out that there was a $150 deposit to use a credit card or $400 to use a deb debit card and extra fees to pick up the car early or drop it off early and seeing the absolute madhouse at the arrival counter and the car pickup area we canceled our reservation and went to Avis. Avis had none of these issues and was nearly the same initial cost. Wow, never will we even try to use Fox again. By the way if you use your card at Fox don’t expect to see your deposit back on a credit card for 3 to 5 days and up to 3 weeks on a debit card according to the Fox counter agent.
Cons:They need to give a final receipt upon return. They refused saying I’d get an email which I still haven’t received so I don’t know if I’m getting the $150 deposit back.
Pros:Price is why I pushed the button but I’ll rethink that next time.
Cons:I arrived at airport to pick up my car only to discover an over 2-hour wait (I asked the person at the front of the line how long they had been waiting). Unfortunately I could not wait as I had an upcoming business meeting which forced me to pay more for an available car from another agency. After getting online, it appears this is a common practice at Fox and they are running a scam (taking money and hoping people will book elsewhere). This was not just a bad day/bad time experience. When I returned my "other" car, surprise, there was another 2+ hour wait over at Fox. Please stop offering cars/rates for this agency on your website. Pros:Got out of there fast enough
Cons:Check in rep was rude, on his phone the entire time, didnt look up. Tried to sell me upgrades and etc constantly. When I expressed no interest he got ruder. The car pickup was fine - the guy didnt look up, gave me the keys and said the parking space. The front license plate was bent and sticking out at 90 degrees - when i showed the guy, he shrugged, I bent it back myself. Return was fine, quick enough. I never rent through Fox, I only did it directly through kayak - I dont think I would rent again.
Pros:Yes the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons:We requested a fuel efficient car and did not receive it. The check in to pick up the car was over 1.5 hours.
Pros:Dawn and the one gentleman working the desk kept apologizing for the delay. They were trying to communicate as much as possible.
Cons:The airport lost power and although I understand it was beyond Foc's control; I waited in line well over an hour. Dawn and the other gentleman working the desk were very pleasant and kept apologizing. While I was being taken car of by Xisa (? Started with an X) who complained about being full from lunch and just wanted to take a nap. All the while trying to up sale me. I understand that is part of their job but not when Dawn and the other gentleman next to me are giving free upgrades and discounts. Upon returning the car, I had to wait in another line because the amount at return was more than my original reservation. I had to show them my email with the price they had to call someone, I had to wait for that someone to call back to get the adjustment. I was very annoyed with the whole situation.
Pros:Rental cost was "reasonable" compared to other rental companies.
Cons:Everything else! It took 45 minutes standing in line just to get waited on; had a $150 deposit hold (which was not disclosed in the online booking) in addition to the cost of the rental; was given a different vehicle without any explanation; the "upgrade" vehicle was not usable (the rear view mirror came off when adjusting it prior to leaving); and the other vehicle that replaced it was not clean on the inside; the return process was "okay".
Cons:Did not have the vehicle type I reservrd.
Pros:Fast courteous service. Great value. Car in great condition.The discount refueling feature saved me time and money while trying to make my flight. I will certainly consider Fox first next time I rent. Kudos to the Phoenix team.
