Cons:I prepaid for my rental. Hertz called 1.5days before I’m scheduled to land in my destination city to say they are overbooked. They don’t have any cars, of any class/level, at any of their locations in the Phoenix area. This leaves me without a car, and scrambling to find a different rental (which they did not help with) at a much higher price point due to how last minute it was (which they did not cover). AND EVEN WORSE to receive my refund for the rental car that I prepaid for but never received I had to call a 1-800 Hertz number which put me on hold for an hour!!! Worst experience ever, will not be booking with Hertz again. Both the rental branch I talked with and customer service were poor, and not helpful. What logic is it to have to call a different number for a refund for a mistake Hertz made.

Cons:Purchased thru Kayak for what I felt was a nice price - around $240 for 2 days. I am very tall. The "class" of car I rented advertised a Toyota that I knew I fit in. Upon arriving, they offered us a Kia that was supposedly in the same class. There was now way I was going to fit in the Kia. Ended up having to upcharge for the next size bigger car. Somehow all said and done, they had gotten us to $440 for 2 days. How did we end up almost doubling our rate???? After expressing our dissatisfaction they said there was nothign they could do. We endedup paying the $$ so we could get out of the airport and started with our vacation. Also wasn't impressed after checking my credit card a day later that they had put $740 worth of holds on my card that no one mentioned would happen. It got me worried I had been taken yet again for even more money - after approx 1 week these holds went away and we ended being billed correctly.

Pros:The car was adequate, clean, and I liked having the GPS.
Cons:I thought I was supposed to pick up my car @ the Phoenix Airport. There was a long wait (20 minutes). It turns out I had mistakenly booked the car for a different location in Phoenix. I had never been to Phoenix before, so I had no clue. I was charged $70 extra dollars for this mistake. When I asked how I would get to the original location from the airport (to try avoid the $70 charge), the person shrugged his shoulders and said he had no idea. There was no shuttle to that other location. I felt that I had made an honest mistake, and the extra charge was excessive. Plus, the person "helping" me was not @ all helpful. He also told me I would be driving a car similar to a "Smart Car." It was a regular size sub-compact. I felt that he told me this because he thought I would say "No" to the Smart Car, and trick me into agreeing to a larger car.

Cons:Tried to change my pick up date and location to no avail. Had to change my flight into Phoenix on 10/24. Location for pick up would be closed. Also didn't know how far that location was from where I needed to be. No one willing to change anything for me without cancelling the reserve and starting over. Additional charges of course. Non Customer service rep even laughed at my requests saying : I've given you all the options I can. These calls initiated on 10/23. Pick up ;location was to be 4001 E, Bell, Phoenix. Confirmation number H0804576180. I then out of total frustration requested Cancellation and re booked with Avis. That was very smooth and easy. THEY have Customer service.
