Surprise chargesAdditional charges for taxes and airport fees when I dropped off the car that I wasn't expecting. Only one key worked but two were permanently attached on the ring. They were bulky and a pain to carry when you had no option to separate.

Just OKThey rented me a car, 2WD, did not warn me about the road. The car slipped so many times and the tires must not have been all season. II could not go up one of the slopes by the Steamboat Ski. They should warn me not to rent it.
We were given a Nissan Sentra to drive from Steamboat Springs to Denver. We should have been told to upgrade to a four wheel or all-wheel drive. Furthermore, the tire pressure light was on. When we checked them, three of the four tires were overinflated by 20 PSIs!!!! This is very dangerous.

Top tips for renting a car at Hayden Yampa Valley Airport
Choosing a rental vehicle upon arrival at Yampa Valley Airport (HDN) provides you with an easy and convenient transition to the next phase of your trip. While passengers can select free transit buses, taxis, and hotel shuttles, these transport options have restricted routes and scheduled times. If you choose to drive, you're free to get around and visit various POIs at whatever time you please. You'll be the one driving the vehicle, and there's no better guarantee of safety than controlling the steering wheel personally.
We always recommend that you compare the car rental fees of an off-airport agent and a car rental at Yampa Valley Airport (HDN). Off-site car rental operators usually charge less due to their cost benefits, but they may charge a fee for their shuttle services that take arriving passengers to their offices. Sometimes the to-and-from charges might be more or equal to a Yampa Valley Airport car rental. Hence, it's also critical to consider the duration of your rental contract. If you're only in town for a day or two, then an airport rental is a cost-effective choice, considering it alleviates the need to commute.
Yampa Valley Airport (HDN) will ask for a written policy from your card provider that they're dedicated to covering any damages if you get involved in an accident. Unfortunately, your card provider will likely take a long time to pay for the damages, leaving you with no choice but to incur the costs personally. Purchasing your rental agent's car insurance is the best way of cutting on-airport rental costs.
Returning your rental vehicle to a Yampa Valley Airport car rental operator is straightforward. You'll return the automobile to the parking lot located outside the arrivals terminal, across the street. Afterward, fill out the rental contract form at the operator's counter before proceeding to your departure terminal. Unfortunately, there are no after-hours returns, and it's critical to consider returning it early if you have a late-night flight departure.
