Horrible Hertz Cape Town - very sketchy
Cons: I reserved a car for $60 online. When I arrived to the Herz Cape Town the person working told me he would need a credit card for a $3,000 deposit. Yup, three THOUSAND. When I pushed back and refused he said sorry, I couldn't rent a car. I have been renting cars for years and this is absolutely unheard of and very suspect. He tried to take my credit card and attempted to swipe it, even though I told him not to. The whole situation was very sketchy - I'm not sure if he was trying to steal my cc# or what, but needless to say we left and did not rent a car there.

Cons: The car ended up being DOUBLE what we thought we paid for. Due to the insurance required and "drop off" fee, it was literally twice the price of what we budgeted.

Pros: We got a car
Cons: It was not the car I reserved. Our luggage didn't fit at all. Luckily they had another car in the same class that was the one I reserved, but a bit of hassle to get it swapped. Also I got charged for a second driver when the booking said I wouldn't. Lastly it was a bit confusing as I thought I signed up for the insurance through the booking online and then when I got there I has no insurance through the reservation. Tricky.

Cons: I paid for the insurance of Alianze and they did not accepted and I had to pay more for the car and for other insurance, it means that I paid twice for the car and for the insurance. This a scam.
