Poor management of online availabilityCons:I reserved a full-size car at a local location. I called the location about an hour later to let them know I would be about and hour later than the reservation time to pick up the car. I was told they didn’t have any full-size cars available, only minivans and I shouldn’t use a third party service to book a car. They said I should always contact the branch first. Then I called the 800 number to help locate a car in the area to fulfill my reservation. The 800 number agent told me that the branch showed availability but she could not confirm that they had a car for me. I did not rent a car from Hertz.Reviewed Dec 9 2018

Cancelled order because they tried to give a lesser class vehicle.Cons:They did a bait and switch move. Defined the class of car we rented to a lower class vehicle that was way too small for our needs. We cancelled the order.Reviewed Sep 13 2017

Car was not availableCons:When I arrived, 10 minutes before my reservation time . They told me that they did not have any cars available, I was told that I would have to wait until a car was returned. Then when there was a car being returned they did not show any intention To try to get me to use that one, even though I mentioned I didn't mind the car not being vacuumed since I needed to car already , reason why I reserved for 8am. What is the point of making a reservation for a specific time if when you arrive the car is not going to be available. worst customer service I have ever receivedReviewed May 30 2017

Customer ServicePros:We rented a van for a trip to see our son graduate. It was great. Our only problem was we got a flat tire in the middle of the desert. Called Hertz and they found a tire for us in the next town. Got there on the spare tire and had to buy a new tire for the van. When we returned the van, the cost of the tire was deducted from our bill. While the cost of the van was more than other rentals, I will definitely rent from Hertz again.Reviewed May 24 2017
