the rental was not available despite being reserved several weeks in advance. I wasn't notified until the morning of the rental that they didn't have my reserved car so I cancelled the reservation and was told there would be a full refund. I then was refunded the money several days later except for a $100 cancellation fee they charge for cancellations less than 24 hours prior to (despite it being their fault) so I have to dispute the charge now with the credit card. Pros:Two days before scheduled pickup local Hertz called and canceled our prepaid 10 day rental agreement. By that time there were NO vehicles available for rent in Venice, Florida due to Spring break and Easter holiday. Local personnel said they had no vehicles though there were 7 vans sitting in their parking lot. When I questioned them they said they were all “broken”. Local personnel called their fellow employees liars, said corporate Hertz was terrible and to blame and said there nothing they could do about it and nobody else I could talk to. I also called Hertz customer service and they likewise said there was no one I could talk to about this cancelation at the last minute. Extremely disappointed in Kayak and Hertz. Pros:There was nothing I liked about my experience at Hertz. Their team absolutely do not care about the customer.Cons:I wish the company would be honest and reliable. They did not honor a reservation that was prepaid. The company recommended me to go to Budget. I must say Budget did what Hertz could have done. Very disappointed in Hertz.Reviewed Feb 22 2021

Pros:Staff did a nice job. It is close and I did drop off the car a day early as our plans had changed.Cons:The inside windows were not clean. I had to clean them so I could see out of them the next morning before I left for my trip.Reviewed Feb 1 2021

Pros:Drop off was easy.Cons:Chose a vehicle/category several upgrades higher to not have a Ford or such. One selected said Nissan or comparable. They said a Kia was comparable to a Nissan. No way! Had to pay 30% more than what was priced out to get a decent vehicle. Really stunk.Reviewed Dec 14 2020
