the rental was not available despite being reserved several weeks in advance. I wasn't notified until the morning of the rental that they didn't have my reserved car so I cancelled the reservation and was told there would be a full refund. I then was refunded the money several days later except for a $100 cancellation fee they charge for cancellations less than 24 hours prior to (despite it being their fault) so I have to dispute the charge now with the credit card. Pros:Two days before scheduled pickup local Hertz called and canceled our prepaid 10 day rental agreement. By that time there were NO vehicles available for rent in Venice, Florida due to Spring break and Easter holiday. Local personnel said they had no vehicles though there were 7 vans sitting in their parking lot. When I questioned them they said they were all “broken”. Local personnel called their fellow employees liars, said corporate Hertz was terrible and to blame and said there nothing they could do about it and nobody else I could talk to. I also called Hertz customer service and they likewise said there was no one I could talk to about this cancelation at the last minute. Extremely disappointed in Kayak and Hertz. Will not use again!Cons:Everything!Reviewed Apr 3 2021
