Newark rental experience was awesome. Unfortunately my rental was supposed to be picked up at Laguardia airport, and the Hertz team from LaGuardia is about the most disrespectful you could have find anywhere in the USA. They forced me to get an Uber and made me go to Newark to pick up the rental over a technicality that I was not responsible for. I spent 3 hours in the whole process, and I experienced the worse level of customer service at an airport’s Hertz rental location there at LaGuardia. Needless to say, I’m not using Hertz car rental services ever again… Sincerely, Tony Zapata.

Great but as I drove away I realized the car was not clean, Fingerprints all over the touchscreen crumbs on the floorand there was leftover food items in the back seat floor.

Rental car had problems with steering and wheel alignment and with brakes. Hertz couldn’t get exchange my car after multiple complaints.

Cons:

I made the reservation and paid in advance, only to find when arriving at the counter that I’ve been placed on a Do not rent ban. The staff at the counter could not tell me why or help me any further and made me call a customer service line, where I waited for 20 minutes on hold. Since I was in a time crunch, I had to walk away and rent with a different service. Why did Hertz not flag my account when I paid for my reservation in advance, instead of wasting my time when I was already ready to pick up the car? Who knows. I still have not been able to get through to their specific phone line to figure out why my account has been blocked, after calling multiple times. I last rented with Hertz a few months ago, and never received any notice about my account being blocked.

(a) Girl was not at station to issue car for 10-12 min (b) Super Rude, arrogant girl at counter who seemed unhappy to have customers (b) Lied about return policy of car being minimum 90% charged (d) Charged twice 200 $ security deposit (e) Thrifty did not gave charging cable and charger , while no where in booking it was mentioned that they do not give with car ( unlike Europe ) or select these as additional rent options as they do with other accessories like child seat / snow chains/ gps etc. I had a super horrible time looking for chargers, waiting at charging stations, limiting my travel plans and their was a 24/7 stress to keep managing and planning charging and travel (f) i am already in touch with my lawyers to look upon the above aspect as i feel i have been cheated

Your credit card requirements are ridiculous. If you want this stupid system, have a way to check the credit card before the customer shows up. Requiring credit cards that have chips with the person's name who booked the car is strange. It cost us money, time and anxiety. Will ensure to not book work you or Hertz again.

Reserved, specifically, a luxury vehicle to fit four people and two suitcases in the trunk. At arrival, as given the choice of two of the exact same vehicles, Genesis G70s, which are COMPACT sports sedans. Only one of our suitcases fit in the tiny trunk so my sons, ages 17 and 20, had to ride in the back seat with the other suitcase between them. Not comfortable. And not easy to get seat belts buckled, either. The car was very clean and drove well but I don't feel I actually received what I paid for.

Alamo did not allow me to get a car because they won’t take anything but credit card bookings. This should have been made clear at the offset. We spent money, time and resources to get to Newark to be disappointed. Missed our connections afterwards and everything that was planned after had to be cancelled. Super disappointing.
