We loved our room with the view of the park and harbour. It was also close to good shopping and the railway station. The bed and bathroom were very clean and modern. We did not realize it did not have a pool but this didn't matter as the weather was cool.
A lot of lifts available for guests so practically didnt have to wait long for a ride. It has been remodeled & the rooms are the same size but newer carpet, bathroom. Very conveniently located

Nothing First off we booked for 10/21-23 and my email confirmarion and screen shot of booking all confirmed this. When we went to check in , they told us that booking was for 11/4-6. I showed them the confirmation then they told us we needed to take the issue up with kayak. After arguing for 3 hours(i dont give up) they finally gave us the room. The hotel is NOT a 5 star (1star) and the pictures are MISLEADING. Theoughout the stay the staff was awful. The hotel is also filled with mainlanders which makes it extremely noisy and crowded. Avoid avoid avoid. I couldnt take another day so in the end I booked the shangri-la.

Bed was very hard. Had a handicapped room and couldn't open the windows or see out the frosted windows. The bathroom was hardly handicapped aceessible due to the toilet being in front of the sink and the shower having a high lip around it. Breakfast was uneventful, cold pancakes that you had to put in the toaster to warm up.
Proximity to Wan Chai MTR. Spacious room (for HK). Excellent staff. Dodgy area. You're going to get hit on getting into your hotel.
Location was good The rooms were smelly. I had a non-smoking room, abd I still could not sleep because of the smell in the room. I asked them to change the room, they did. I found out that the new room was recently renovated. The first room was very old.
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. I stay here because of a number of reasons: Its not far from MTR, its good valuve for the money, its located in a historical part of Hong Kong, can walk to the Star Ferry, interesting shopping nearby, and I get points from the Accor chain. Staff is friendly. Its nice to be centrally located in this part of Hong Kong, lots of cool restaurants nearby.
Close to expo area and close to shops Did not change the bed sheets for three night's, customer disk service are roud !!

The front office staff are friendly and understanding. We do have a chance to thank the Front Office Manager on duty on the 17th Nov 2010 night due to busy schedule. We really want to thank her for offering to check in first before we resolve our booking problem with the bank.

This was my primary hotel for HK. Many stays. Treated poorly. Escorted to door like bad guy. Mgr offered water as cure.
I was coming out of a month of kung fu training in the Yunnan province and wanted to stay somewhere comfortable, in a good location, with a better price. Charterhouse greatly exceeded my expectations!! They were very accommodating in all categories and had by far the best hotel gym I've ever been to. I would definitely stay here for your first night getting your bearings in Hong Kong in comfort and ease. Literally nothing. For the price, there was absolutely nothing to complain about.

I think overall its a nice hotel. Very updated decor and modern style bathrooms. Cleanliness was very good. Some people feel the room is small, but have to adjust your expectations in Hong Kong unless your willing to spend more at a more upscale hotel in Central. I felt the room was more than adequate and was in a great location around some of the best food experiences in Hong Kong. Also only a few blocks away from the MTR and close to the tram if you want to ride above ground. Staff was also very accomodating. Guest lounge was nice and althought the gym is small, its enough to get you started in the day. Would stay here again. Only things I didn't like were the walls are a bit thin and theres no sealant around the door so you can hear fellow guests in the hallway sometimes if they're loud (Most of the time wasn't a problem). There's also no microwave in the guest lounge if you're in the mood for something that requires one.
I had a suite which was roomy for HK. Fairly clean and modern looking. The white vinyl alligator accents were torn and scuffed. Mold and mildew at the base of the shower. Reception was crowded since it was so small. The ICLUB could you something more than toast and jam for breakfast. I would love to know how they have a zero carbon footprint as advertised.

Though the location was reletively good, taxis are not allowed to drop off passengers at the front of the hotel! Our driver had to drop us off at the back alley. We literary lugged our luggages to the front door! I want to thank Micheal and especially Joyce for helping me to lug my luggage. Thank you Jason for explaining to me the place I had to wait for /hail a taxi. 1.Unlike other hotels, this hotel requires you to cancel 7 days beforehand. If not, you will be charged the first night. 2. They will charge the first night’s rate when you book the hotel and additional 2000HKD as a deposit when you check in. With such stringent rule, one might expect the hotel to assign good rooms for customers who booked months in advance. Sadly, it wasn't so. I was assigned a room reeked of cigarette smell by Natalie. The toilet cum bathroom is transparent and visible from the other flats/apartments that are built within arm’s length! So, the curtain has to shut permanently! When I approached Tiffany, I was told that there wasn't any room left. I was told that I could pay additional 220HKD to upgrade. The manager’s attitude was “take it or leave it!” After I commented that “You have the prerogative of treating me however you like, but I have the right to write about how I was treated here,” that they suddenly remembered that they had vacant rooms! Though my situation was rectified, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I had to stoop so low in using my occupation and the internet to threaten the staff to get basic decent customer service! It literary marred my first day there! 3. They like to use the excuse of “it’s a bigger and more spacious room” to trick you into accepting a more “inferior” room. When they show me their “smaller” room, it was a better room, where the bathroom was not visible from other buildings! 4. Though it's near Times Square, you can forget about saving money as you will definitely pay extra to get a cab to the nearest MTR to head to the airport with your heavy luggage. This is because the Wan Chai MTR station is too far away for you to lug your luggage to while the Causeway Bay MTR station is too congested with traffic and dangerous for you to head to with your luggage. 5.
Friendly staff, very clean, excellent facilities Not a place for toddlers
The staff were excellent I thought. Helpful, courteous whatever the time of day/night, and very professional. It's a good hotel if you're travelling for business or as a couple. Not a place I would recommend if you are travelling with young children. The rooms are very small compared to the more established hotels so whilst the decor and amenities provided are good, some travellers may prefer a room with a little more leg room.
