It felt more like staying at someone's home than staying at a bed and breakfast
Cons: No TVs, everything was pretty bare bones
Austin Street Inn puts you within a 15-minute drive of Yale Bowl and Yale University. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 7:30 AM and 9 AM. Also, this bed & breakfast is within a short drive of East Rock Park.
Pros: Facilities are modern and up-to-date. Very clean.
Cons: Parking fees are not included in booking prices
Pros: The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable
Cons: Having to pay extra for parking
Pros: A clean renovated hotel just a few blocks walk from Yale's old campus and art galleries. The breakfast buffet was inexpensive and ample and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
Pros: Front desk staff was very hospitable and friendly. When I asked for a room modification instead of acting like it was nuisance they happily looked into it and ended up accomodating.
The room was clean and very comfortable. I will definitely be returning!
Pros: Location to Yale. Clean.
Cons: Expensive parking.
Pros: Location in downtown New Canaan
Cons: Someone is apparently in it for the money only here, the New Haven Hotel offers no value and certainly no "caring" attitude. For that it charges too much at $ 159 per night. You get:
- Good downtown location.
- Clean room, good size.
- Thin walls, to hear the neighbors, and everyone from the hallways.
- Mattresses of dubious quality.
- Breakfast, a stale buffet in a dark 2nd floor room, is an unfriendly reminder that nobody cares, and at $ 13.99 someone wants to make good money.
- Self parking at the Temple Garage at $ 20 overnight, when the public rate is $ 16, no value add, just a surcharge by the hotel. Staff could have pointed out that there is a free parking on weekends around and across...
- Very friendly and helpful receptionist, one person only.
And Housekeeping knocking at the door at 9am on a Sunday morning makes this a bit of a bad dream in New Haven.
Pros: Everything was very clean, and the rooms are quite nicely appointed. Most of the staff was very nice, too (there was just one check-in person who I found a bit rude).
Cons: No breakfast included - even of the most basic kind.
It's located on a somewhat dicey street.
The workout facilities were minimal.
The views from the room were ugly, and a bright light from the garage comes in unless you use the full blinds.
Pros: friendly staff, quick checkin/out, clean rooms, great location
Cons: AC was set to 60 deg but never got below 72-75.. and the bed wasn't overly comfortable.

Pros: Beautiful grounds, great pool for kids, Sunday Brunch
Cons: Being overcharged at Sunday's Brunch for 16 oz. of Coke ($18.00), on top of the $50.00 pp charge for brunch, noisy people in room next to us kept us up until 1 am, noisy outdated a/c made noise all night.
Pros: The hotel is beautiful outside and the grounds are kept very nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's right on the beach.
Cons: The restaurant and bar staff were not happy to be there with the exception of the inside hostess! We "waited to be seated" as the sign said at the outside bar/grill for about ten minutes while three girls talked behind the bar which only had two customers. One of them called to us as we walked away to go inside for service but it was too late. Once seated, our waiter actually made the comment that he's going to be so happy in a few weeks when it's slow and nobody is there for dinner. Later at the bar seemed to be a repeat of the situation at dinner. From finger prints covering glass surfaces that seem to have been there for a while to the elevator that looks like something was splashed on the wall and not cleaned for two days there seems to be a lack of attention to detail at this hotel. New management could really make some improvements as it is a beautiful hotel. For this price point I expect better.
Water's Edge Resort & Spa offers a private beach where you can enjoy cabanas, beach umbrellas, and beachside drinks. The indoor pool provides a splash of fun, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in deep-tissue massages, body wraps, and aromatherapy. Dattilo's Fine Dining, one of 4 restaurants, serves Italian cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a poolside bar and a bar/lounge, and rooms get the details right with iPod docks and designer toiletries.
Cons: pool was dirty, didn't have towels, restroom sink/toilet? (didn't look, just reported) overflowing
windows so dirty couldn't see out of them
staff only miminimally concerned about pool
Pros: Comfortable rooms and beds with individual thermostats and a spacious bathroom. The hotel is conveniently located relatively close to everything. Courteous and attentive staff.
Cons: The free breakfast was mediocre to low quality; though they did change out the options daily, the options were few. The eggs were bland and made with egg-beaters as opposed to fresh eggs, and without salsa/tobasco (my preference) I didn't have anything to put on them to make them taste any better besides pepper, which didn't help much - similar issue with the cheese omelets. Also, while fresh fruit was available the first day, it was not changed out daily and by the time we left the bananas had gone brown.

Pros: Clean rooms and lobby, courteous staff. This hotel was what you'd expect from a Courtyard. I went to see Yale with my daughter and the hotel was only convenient to the schools athletic facilities. nice area though!
Cons: I didn't like paying for self- parking in an outdoor lot. There was a covered section but it was full. Once parked, I had a longish walk back to the lobby with my bags.
The basic wifi is free. Hi-speed is $5.95. The basic was fine for slow-surfing the internet but to stream a movie, you might need to upgrade.
Pros: People and staff were very nice while they are going thru renovation.
Cons: There were college athletic teams also in the hotel that weekend..They ran up and down the halls till 3:00 am and to my knowledge no one ever asked them to hold the noise down.A constant party till about 3 or 4 am then they would all go into their rooms and go to sleep.Very annoying.
Pros: The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
Cons: Only paper cups provided for coffee in the room. When we asked at the restaurant and front desk we were told that there were no other cups available. The housekeeper, however got us some regular cups.

Cons: The room smelled of smoke in the evening as some other guests were apparently breaking the rules and smoking inside the premises
Pros: Location, spacious room
Cons: Temperature, lobby was freezing. Our room was freezing when we got there and took a long time to warm up. The air unit is constantly running and noisy. We never really had hot water in the shower.
The front door is a bit unusual. Different, Nothing bad, but a bit of an initial surprise. The Hotel staff are excellent. The breakfast is awesome. The rooms are nice. The setting is quiet, and very convenient. I will stay there again on my next trip.
Pros: Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional
Cons: No Problems
Pros: Close to where we were going
Cons: older hotel could use updating, just basics during night fire alarm went off alarms not connected to fire dept. Not worth $---- per night than taxes on top of that.
Pros: Automatic door made this truly an accessible hotel
Cons: No transfer bench in the tub of the accessible room. There was a slot installed for one but it was missing and, according to personnel the accessible tubs never had one. Did have a hand held shower and grab bars, but no way to safely enter the tub.
Pros: Location was very convenient to what we were doing.
I would reccomend this hotel for aomeone who needed lodging for a day or two. It was well worth the money we paid for the night. It is not a resort, it's sleeping quarters.
Pros: This hotel is very conveintly located. We were visiting a friend who was about 5 miles away. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable. JoJo at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
Much nicer than I expected. Beds were very comfortable.
Pros: Staff was pleasant and helpful
First stay at a comfort inn & price was worth the stay; will consider chain in the future.
Pros: Cleanliness and close proximity to where
Cons: E needed to go. Breakfast was a plus!
I would definitely rate this higher than two stars. Overall, I think they're worthy of at least three. We stayed in two other places on the road, and this one stood out on every level.
Pros: The staff was extremely professional and courteous. The continental breakfast, particularly the coffee, exceeded our expectations.
Cons: I can't think of anything that I found lacking. Their wi-fi was a little balky at first, but I ended up getting on and staying on for the evening.

Pros: Verry nice hotel, great location with a lot of accommodations. Don't let the price scare you, well worth it.
Cons: Woke up with a back ache, bed was not as comfortable as I would have expected. Access to wifi should be included, but you have to pay extra.
Pros: The attitude of the staff was wonderful. Above and beyond. It had a full service feel - staff only, not the facility, and certainly not the scary parking lot.
Cons: It simply was not as high end as I expected. I have had two kids attend college closeby, and I always dreamed of being able to afford staying at the Omni. We decided to splurge on our last night there after checking our of a rental house in the area. I guess I built it up in my head that it would be like a Four Seasons or something really nice, but it was no better than the Marriott or the New Haven Hotel which are half the price or less. Disappointing! I was totally unimpressed with the bedding especially, it was like a flash back to the 90's!
Pros: The neighborhood is marginal, and with a room on the 4th floor, you get a lot of noise well into the night.
Only two elevators were working for almost 20 stories, with a wedding reception going on... made for really long waits.
Pros: The place is gorgeous! And the rooms were really nice!
Cons: It's more a trend. When you get a budget room, so many amenities are included. When you splurge for some luxury, I feel like you are charged for everything. Breakfast was not included, wifi costs extra, parking was $20 per day. Elevators seemed a bit slow and there's only one of the 3 that go to the garage levels.
Staff was incredible
Pros: Amazing stay at beautiful clean hotel with courteous staff! I would highly recommend this hotel!!! Next time we visit my daughter we will definitely be staying there.
Cons: Place was extremely clean and staff couldn't do enough to make you happy! Haven't stayed in a place that was outstanding in cleanliness with amazing staff in years!!!
Cons: Lacking amenities like pool and expensive parking very cold unable to change room temp
Pros: The bed is AMAZING. That has to be the best sleep that I have had in a very long time.
Cons: The hotel is in the heart of the city and apparently does not have sound proof walls so it is very noisy all the time however they do leave ear plugs on the night stand to compensate.

Pros: Staff friendly especially the breakfast area.
Good choices for a family breakfast
Cons: Whole hotel smelled of smoke. Near turnpike a bit noisy
Pros: Location. Close to all my activities.
Cons: There was no way to look up the address or phone number because of the name/brand change was not reported to the phone co. and not able to find on my cars navigation. It made it very difficult to travel to and from my destinations.

Guest rooms feature a flat-screen TV, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. The more often you stay with us, the more rewards you earn with the Choice Privileges Rewards program.
Cons: Room reeked of smoke, was dirty and outdated, and the unit next door held a party from 2-4 am with shouting and fighting that spilled over into the parking lot. On top of that, front desk was understaffed and slow, parking lot was crowded, and stairs to second floor unit was outside.
Pros: Good rate for a room with a full kitchen - Main lobby building and breakfast area was very nice with a nice outdoor patio. They accept pets.
Cons: Rooms are pet friendly, but they stick you in the back corner with the other pet owners - There is also a $75 charge for pets. Some of the residents who live long term at the Village Suites were a little sketchy. New Haven town is also a little sketchy - The only nice area we found was near the old Yale campus.
Pros: I traveled with my husband and teenage son - we stayed in the 2 room loft - it was awesome space for all of us! Had a small kitchen with fridge - but most important we each had out own bathrooms. Cont breakfast was very decent. We didn't use the amenities. Easy on and off freeway which we did need. We had no views - but didn't care - that wasn't why we were staying there. Would recommend!
Pros: Clean, comfortable bed
Cons: Noisy AC system, weird thermostat, it gets really cold then really hot, without me changing the temperature
Pros: We arrived just as the snow arrived. It was delightful to have a fireplace and space to relax with people during the storm. Loved the selection of teas available in the lobby in the afternoon and the waffles at breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Would have enjoyed having an Earl Grey in the tea selection . ;>)
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable bed, completary breakfast, a home away from home.
Cons: Not many night life attractions, but isn't hotels fault.
Pros: Nice room with plenty of space. Courteous and friendly staff. We didn't stay for long but it was a good stay. The room was clean and neat. I would definitely stay there again.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the waffles. We also enjoyed the complimentary popcorn.
Cons: The room was very clean and efficient, but the decor was a little "tired".
Pros: Pool & Dinner was included, Perfectly wheelchair suitable,
Pros: Spacious suite, room enough for 2 adults and 2 grown-up children; nice and relaxed atmosphere, everything we needed during this 2-nights stay!
Pros: Room, itself, was nice and it was quiet.
Cons: Although check-in is known to be at 3pm we arrived early from Norwalk area at 11am and then went to the front desk again ar 2pm and they never tried to be accomodating to us but just told us it was not guaranteeed until a 3pm arrival. The housekeep[ng staff should try to accomodate someone who is already at the locatiuon versus their traditional room-to-room approach. We did not get into the room until 3:15-3:30pm.When tyou pay over $200/nihgt, I'd lik ethe staff to try to be more accomodating.
Pros: Room very confortable, nice breakfast, ideal for family
Cons: A little bit outside the city, no restaurants close by
All inclusive living, stay a week, a month or a year. One bedroom suites with full kitchen facilities, either one king or two double beds, full bath with shower/ tub combination. Many one bedroom suites have working fireplaces. The two bedroom suites are bi-level, penthouse suites, with full kitchen facilities and two full baths. Daily breakfast served in guest house of the hotel. Evening social hour Monday thru Wednesday nights. Exercise room, washer and dryer and free parking.
Pros: The friendly couteous staff and comfortable bed
Pros: Convenience to work
Cons: It was old and run down. Most electric sockets did not work. Others were so loose your plug would fall right out. The fridge and coffee pot had no usable electric and were unusable. the room had no dresser or a any drawers to put clothes. The breakfast was eggs and potatoes or pancakes. Never any meat.
I would not stay there again.
Pros: It was conveniently located between all the towns we wanted to visit. A good base if you wanted to explore the area and do a bit of sight seeing.
Cons: We booked and got a non smoking room but the previous occupiers smoked and it smelled awful inside but for one night it was ok.
Pros: We had everything we needed for a short stay. Appreciate iron and frig and table and chairs for writing. Mattress a bit uncomfortable for older folks. The man at the desk was delightful. Room could have used some airing.
Cons: whoops...answered above
Pros: It was as descibed by others. A moderately priced stay - very adequate for the price.
Pros: Good for the money. Good location.
Cons: Could have been a little cleaner.
Pros: the pillows lol
Cons: the booking said swimming pool but their wasnt a pool which sucked!maybe you guys should change that
Pros: The staff was particularly helpful and nice.
Pier Blue Guesthouse is a great choice for a stay in Old Saybrook. Freebies like breakfast and self parking are added perks, and guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails.
Cons: Housekeeping woke us up at 9:00 even though check out was not until 11, bathroom floor is dangerously slippery when wet
