I liked nothing of this place, parking is tight and your sure to get a dung on your car by the drunk idiots coming and going from the other rooms at 2-3 am....noisy too. I didn't like the rudeness of the staff; first off I booked a week in advance ,a non smoking king room with a sitting area and a couch, just like what I saw in the pictures online , when I got there, they said they only had a smoking king room , I was pissed, in other words they didn't hold my room, and they gave me no break or discount. the room was a real smelly nasty small room on the first floor. it was 1 small room , with a bathroom. the rug, the curtains, the décor and furniture is all old. the smell alone was disturbing. obviously a great place to hangout and party and drink, it couldn't be more obvious that they cater to who ever will pay a ridiculous price for a dive of a room. don't let the outside of the building fool you, they put no money into renovating or updating the interior.go to Marriott Courtyard or Town Place suites 10 mins away up 10 in Farmingdale.its new, same price and clean , with a kitchen . seriously, $160 + tax per night for this dump, that will never happen again.
Free breakfast Needed ear plugs to sleep. Loud middle of night as we were next to office. One night police outside our room responding to an alleged assault at midnight. Scary. No shots fired thank God.
I am a mother travelling with two 20 something sons to Massapequa for a family wedding. Our planned three night stay turned into two nights due to a snow related flight cancellation. The hotel graciously accommodated us. We arrived 9:30 PM, check-in went smoothly. We had a room with two queen beds. The room was immaculate. We were impressed with the comfort of the beds, temperature of the room, and the bathroom was very nice with a tub shower. There was ample closet space. There was a flat screen TV we never had a chance to turn on. The morning breakfast bar was very nice. I recommend the waffles. I've read some of the previous reviews, some scared me. I would stay there again and I have already recommended it to others. We have no negative feedback.
I want to thank the staff for keeping my son's ice packs cold for him to use after playing baseball. I had booked a room, king size bed and no smoking for my son and I and after driving 5 hours after a full days work and we arrived at night. I was given a room with double beds which was no big deal but a "smoking" room and was told they were booked so we had to stay there. It stunk so bad, we couldn't sleep even after spraying a whole bottle of perfume, everything smelled like a cigarette the beds, towels, and it was warm so when you turned the AC on it made it worse. We left the window open for an hour and that didn't help. Plus the pillows are hard as rocks. So we didn't sleep at all and after taking a shower I felt like I still smelled like a cigarette. I was very upset for having to pay for the room and I was worried for my son because he had to take an allergy pill and needed rest because he did a showcase for baseball and scouts were looking at him. Also after not sleeping we had to drive 5 hours back home. Extremely disappointed with the situation.
Good location with large but uninteresting accommodations. Dissatisfied with housekeeping. Didn't get to our room until after 5;00 pm. Slipshod job - took but did not replace coffee cups. Did not replace coffee pods despite requests. For this price point expected better.
Room quality. Nicer than most apartments. Front desk staff was very helpful, and the fact that they throw in breakfast and dinner really helps out a lot. This is WAY better than anything in the area that I researched. Room had a nice TV, with accessible USB ports (not those hotels that block them so you can't plug anything else in). Nice kitchen area had utensils, microwave, huge refrigerator, and a sink. Bed was king size and plenty of pillows. Bathroom was clean, linens were clean, and the wifi worked well enough to stream firestick, etc. Also like that I only had to enter the password ONCE, and not every DAY, like a lot of other hotels. The chef at dinner time was very nice, and wanted to know how I enjoyed the food every night - soliciting feedback, etc. Both meals provided, while not 5 star food were very good and plentiful. Compared to what you get when you pay FAR more in Vegas or NYC, this place was a good value. Parking was also not an issue. I found some of the staff during the meals and roaming the hallways to be a bit terse. I know New Yorkers are different but I expected a lighter demeanor for someone in the hospitality industry. There were several instances where I had to track someone down in the dining area to bus the table from the people who had eaten there before me, or to simply ask for a diet soda to drink. There is plenty of coffee and tea, but no other drinks unless you ask for them. Reminding a customer that they COULD be charged for a soda seems a little ridiculous when the food, fruit, and cookies, are unlimited. My room bordered a courtyard, per my request - however I didn't know it would be outside the two meeting rooms. There were times where it got a bit noisy, but didn't really impact me too much. I'm not going to complain about the layout, but if you go there expecting total silence you should ask for a room away from such a place. There was an ant in the bed the first night, and a beetle in the bathroom the second night.... in April. I know I didn't bring them, but what can you do? It wasn't an infestation. I would still stay at this place before going anywhere else in the area.

In a really nice area, absolutely wonderful staff (best I've seen in a long time), comfortable large rooms, 24hr room service, on-site spa, indoor pool, close to cafes and restaurants. Wish there were a sauna or steam-room.

The staff were extremely kind and since we were there as newlyweds We were given a copy of our new name signed for the first time as A keepsake....the mattress was very comfortable ....wish we could've Slept longer but we had to catch an early flight to our honeymoon Destination. ....definitely a night to remember.

Beds were comfortable, the room was quiet and the hotel location was close to restaurants and shopping - as well as being easily accessible to expressways. While there was wireless Internet access the signal was not strong and cell phones could not connect to that network unfortunately. Ice machines on several floors seemed out of order or not working very well. The hotel was functional but basic - one small pkg of kleenex/day, 1 small shampoo pkg/day. Possibly if we asked for more it would have been provided, however.
The staff was really nice! Rooms are extra clean. We stayed in a room that had the connecting door. My wife and I were trying to sleep, this is already 12:30 AM. There were kids in the next room. Laughing, joking, yelling and screaming really loud. We had to call security to get them to quiet down. Also, this hotel allows dogs. This is the worse idea. Someone with a dog across the hall, couldn't get him to sleep. As a result, he would bark all night. Generally speaking, most people do not have common sense. People would go in and out of their rooms, and allow their doors to slam, waking others in the process. We went out for breakfast. When we returned, our room smelled like marijuana. Someone near our room had smoked up, and the smoke traveled underneath the doors. The bottom line, the price is not bad, the staff is nice and friendly, the rooms are very clean, but some of the people that come to the hotel ruined it for everyone else.
The location and price was perfect for us. The hotel was clean and facilities acceptable. The hotel was unable to provide a crib for my 16 month old child. They said they only have one and it was being used. It seems strange that a fairly large hotel only has one crib.
The towels could be a little thicker and larger for shower use.
The tv The fact that the room was moist, the a/c not good, I woke up with a sore throat. The sink was not in the bathroom. The tub had a "dip" in the middle & had a Crack in it like too many people stood in the same spot. The lighting was poor even with 6 lamps. You had to go to the front desk for extra linen, the cleaning ladies didn't have any on the cart. Lastly, cause I'm tired of talkin. My cousins room had MOLD on the wall where the sink was that was supposed to be in the bathroom. No maintenance people on site, just a security guard. I will never stay at another red roof inn. They are ratchet & so is the staff.
Upgraded room was very nice with a separate lounge w/ microwave and fridge however I only got the upgrade because the initial room I was assigned had an unmade bed. The front desk addressed it quickly though.
Red Roof Inn Long Island was basic but clean and quiet. I like that there's a written notice of a no partying rule displayed at the front desk. We just wanted a place to get a good night's rest at a reasonable rate before leaving out of JFK the following day and we got it here. If this is the same thing you're looking for within driving distance of JFK or Manhattan then you won't go wrong with this Red Roof Inn. There's plenty of places to eat nearby.
Stayed quite a few times and we just love it. Great little getaway, very clean, comfortable, and incredible staff. They go above and beyond to assist in any way to make your stay great. Never stayed at such a clean hotel, this is really top notch.

The people were friendly and helpful. The breakfast and bar staff were especially attentive. The proximity to the beach was ruined by not having complementary passes to use it. Running out of towels was also off putting. The room had inadequate sitting/ chairs, the pointy wooden corners of the bed scratched me, and the view was poor. I would not recommend anyone stay there. The toilet handle was broken also and pieces of the wall fell of when I closed the bathroom door.

for a $300 per night hotel, the service was horrible and the room was falling apart!!! the phone didn't work so the door handle, etc...
The location on the beach/boardwalk is nice. The staff were pleasant. The room was not very clean. The facilities looked nice superficially but are poorly finished. Bar and restaurant overpriced.
The location, period. The room was very small, towel bars were broken, bar area was broken and missing, there are no dressers, and you cannot hang anything long (like a dress) in the closet. The bathroom door was a sliding glass panel that offered little privacy. There were no wash cloths and when we asked for them, we were given one. When we asked for a second, we got a strange look. The pool was closed the whole 4 days we were there. Breakfast closed early on Sunday without any prior notice. The final kicker was during checkout and we were told that we owed them a resort fee. For what? The wifi (told complimentary on check-in), the pool (closed the whole time), and the beach access (also told complimentary). Needless to say, we did not pay the fee. This hotel is WAY overpriced. Thankfully, we got a great deal from Kayak!
Its upscale beautiful beach front hotel. Location and atmosphere is beautiful. No outside food is allowed. (Ridiculously high priced buffet is available in the hotel, no doubt buffet is one of the best I've ever seen) No Coffee maker in the room Ac wasn't working, we had to sleep with the balcony door open. Ventilation wasn't working in the bathroom.
Loved the style of the hotel. Restaurant waitstaff, etc. very pleasant, neat appearance and attentive. As it was off season, we were not able to enjoy amenities. Breakfast: not many customers to justify why the food took so long (over 20 mins). Home fries was drenched in grease and the bacon wasn't evenly cooked, toast was cold, over easy eggs were over medium and crispy. I can only assume the kitchen had "fill in" help! Room: Could very easily hear couple in next room disagreeing.
The physical plant is nice; the bar/breakfast area is nicely appointed. The rooms are sleek and modern, nicely if somewhat cheaply furnished. So many problems! 1. They put us in a room directly below a 24-hour gym. My wife was up all night listening to some guy running on the treadmill in the wee hours. I woke up at 6 am to the sounds of free weights being dropped on the floor. We didn't know any of this until I went up there in the morning because the staff never told us the room was under the gym (we speculated that someone was getting murdered in the room above us). When we complained, the manager asked us what time my wife was hearing the treadmill - so, he told us, that he could check the tapes! Check the tapes! Why don't you jus come right out and accuse us of lying, jack? Amateur/idiot. To their credit, they did not charge us for the room after we complained, but, as my wife said to the manager, she would have gotten more sleep on a bench at JFK. 2. Flat sheets on the bed instead of fitted sheets, and no proper mattress pad. This means that Jimmy and Jenny before us probably had their bare asses right on the mattress. Unhygienic. 3. 100-thread count sheets, if that. Rough. My wife's elbows and butt was sore from sleeping on the sheets. We brought a quality sheet to spread on top of the bottom sheet. 4. $35 resort fee in the winter gets you basically nothing. Suspend the resort fee in the winter, guys. It's a beach town.
The location. That we were given a room with 2 full beds instead of a king. The TV didn't work. We didn't get help with our bags. The staff at the front desk acted indifferent to our needs. The walls are so thin we could hear everything around us.

Not much, wife enjoyed her massage. Beds too small, advertised pool is actually an exercise pool in the basement 15x8 in size. Very small bar that is understaffed. Gaming center has small pool table and board games that are incomplete. Very overated overall.

The rooms were very nice, bar & restaurant were awesome. Fridge, microwave & options for beverages were good. The location was perfect for our girls night sleepover. The front desk clerk was rude & didn't explain any charges. Unfortunately they had to come and change the bed sheets because it looked as the though the weren't changed from the previous guests. The cleaning staff responded quickly and they were very apologetic.
I accidentally booked a smoking room, the person at the front desk easily switched me to a non-smoking room (I don't think I could have stayed if one wasn't available).
The renovation of this hotel is really nice. It would be nice if their was a lounge with a bar to hang out after being out during the day. no where to go except the lobby. An outdoor pool would also be nice.

The Hampton Inn was perfect for our needs. We visit family on Long Island and it provides us with great comfort and care. The morning breakfast tastes great and provides a variety of food that meets the dietary concerns of our family members. We stayed three nights and the main breakfast menu was different for each morning. We get a good start to the day and find it restful at night. The coffee/tea and evening cookies were delicious too. I now look for Hampton Inns when I travel.
the location was excellent for my family, we have family on the north shore of long island and south shore. the hotel was very clean, staff always greeted you. we unfortunately had a 3 am wake up call from a guest that was coming from a wedding and did not take "you have the wrong room" for an answer until my husband had to get a little rude, and i also thought the room would be a bit larger.

Train stop right next to one side of the hotel! Thus you hear screeching of train & train horns blowing. Only 1 of the 2 elevators was working. The one working elevator went up to the 3rd floor (where we were staying), but it didn't go down from the 3rd floor. Breakfast food good.

The bed was comfortable and I liked the overall floorplan. They made it so that the main corridor feels like you're outside, but its all closed in, which I can see being nice durning the winter. I was a little disappointed in a few things. There was no complimentary coffee. The breakfast was good but overpriced. The restaurant staff in the evening was slow and unattentative. Lastly, there was no free wifi in the rooms.
Loved the pool, the rooms and the restaurant's private booths with flatscreen tvs. Waitstaff seemed a bit disorganized.
The kids enjoyed the indoor pool. Rooms were clean. We booked reservations 6 months ago for four and had requested two King sized beds. When we arrived they gave us a room with one bed and offered a cot but said two cots were a fire hazard so couldn't do it. We were given two blow up mattresses which held air only for an hour or so. My kids spent the whole night re-inflating their beds every 90 minutes. Our requests for new mattresses that didn't leak for the second night fell on deaf ears. $500 for two nights and I have to pay $20 for WiFi? Really?
Very friendly staff, room service was perfect and followed up with a phone call. A lot of children were running around unsupervised and the doors are not very sound proof which led to some periods of annoying noise.
This hotel has absolutely no negatives! This is a very special place, one here is not a guest but a family member. I have never, never, ever stayed in such a hospitable place, I cant recomend highly enough!
There is not much to dislike about this place. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the customer service was outstanding! Once I got to my room, the front desk called the room and offered additional assistance if needed. And later when I wanted to find a nice restaurant in the area, they were very helpful with suggestions and even gave me a menu along with drink discount cards. Free breakfast was included with my stay and the food selections were great! They have a variety of options to choose from and selections that other hotels don't offer, such as hot oatmeal and yogurt. There were plenty of beverage options and the orange juice was fresh. This hotel also offers free hot soup in the evening, which is a unique touch! Great customer service really makes a big difference and I will choose this hotel over the others when I come back into town. Thank you for a wonderful experience! One minor complaint is that I wish my bed was more comfortable.

The staff was nice and was very helpful. They upgraded our room when they accidentally locked us out of our room. The food wasn't so great, the "gym" they had was two treadmills, a bike, and an old stair machine.
Front desk when we arrived at 3:30 pm person , was very friendly. Toilet was broken, we were not able to use., we had to go to restroom in the middle of the cafe area., which was very embarrassing. The front desk did give a discount off room for this inconvenience.

It was very centrally located to everything, which may it very easy to find (coming from the Jersey Shore). We had an excellent dinner at Baci (?) restaurant. And could easily get to the Scottish Festival at Old Westbury Gardens. It was impossible to adjust the temperature (as it was designed).

This hotel is located within walking distance to MANY dining options, both chain restaurants and local establishments. There is also a shopping mall literally across the street from the front door of the hotel. The hotel was undergoing a renovation. Our room had already undergone the remodel. However, we found the temperature of the room difficult to stabilize. The fan of the heater/air conditioner was also quite loud.
cyber room and complimentry coffee and fruit in the mornings yes just wish they had a shuttle service to jfk so i wouldnt have to drive so much in new york cause im not used to the traffic but smart enough to buy the added insurance to my rental car..
The location suited our needs quite well. Most staff members were courteous and helpful. The fact that there was no complimentary breakfast was a disappoint considering the price per night and the large buffet put out in the morning. I'm still not clear as to who is entitled to it and the answer I got at the front desk was vague at best.
Overall-everything! The location was extremely close to where we needed to be. The room was very clean and well maintained. Even though the dining area was being remodeled and they served breakfast in a meeting room, the service and food was excellent. N/A

The hotel is surrounded by many shopping stores and easy to get to. My only issue with the hotel is the pool is very small. The hotel was great and in a great location.
Unfortunately I would not know where to start. They say pictures are worth 1000 words and perhaps I should send some pictures. From dried blood, black mold, insects and stained headboards I would never recommend anyone stay here. The staff at the front counter was not only inconsiderate but claimed that I should have purchased "incidentals". Apparently at this hotel "incidentals" are defined as clean rooms. Needless to say my three business partners felt the same way and experienced more or less the same service and type of room. I can assure you as a company we will never stay at any Holiday Inn.
Price was low. Staff was friendly. Bar and restaurant on site. No restaurants in immediate vicinity. Shower pressure very poor and hot water doesn't last long. Chairs in room aren't super comfortable. Rooms don't have a window outside. You have a window t the hallway that others can walk by. There are windows in the hallway.
- The entrance is 'grand' and welcoming with updated fixtures and furniture -bar was very nice looking -pool was a nice size - bedrooms were very updated and inviting -shower and tiles all new and 'clean' -lobby bathrooms very clean -staff VERY accomodating and pleasant! -Bar doesn't open until 5, had to order food from the 'outside' -the lower level (single digit rooms) aren't very sound proof. I was up all night with doors slamming and hearing various conversations from down the hall. I wonder if staying on the main level would have been less noisy
It was right on the water. The staff was friendly and the rooms where clean enough. The breakfast could have been better. It got a little loud at night and there where a few weirdos on the premises.

The restaurant makes tasty fare. While I enjoyed my stay I found the hotel a bit pricey for what it has to offer.
I had the worst time at this location. Room smelled really musty. Bugs in the shower. Sheets really dirty, and when I went to the front desk to ask for fresh sheets & pillows, they did not have anything. Their hospitality of the staff was bad, when I expressed my dislikes not only did they not try to fix the problems they never even apologized. Please do not waste your money. Also the rooms are out of date and disgustingly small.

The hotel was close to th concert venue we were going to. We paid $150 for a night and a few things were broken in the room. The light above the bed looked like it was about to fall and so did the shower head. We reported this to front desk. The room was outdated and could use a good scrub. It served its purpose though but I think we'll research a little more next time.
The things that we liked mostly were the accommodations and the staff there. The staff were very kind and helpful. The room and the bed were very confortable. And also Freeport was a very nice surprise, the city is very beautiful and the food there are great too.

Glimpsed a housekeeper on check out. Did not feel the level of customer service that I think should come with a $150 per night hotel
