love the proximity to casinos, also the town to various restaurants is a short 5 minute walk.
The nan who made the omletes Sunday morning was the friendliest and the hotel should be honored to have him work there!
I made the reservation I need to cancel within a couple of hours for business purposes and was charged full price that is absolutely ridiculous I paid it I will never use KAYAK again
Clean, large, and comfortable rooms.
Clean, quiet, basic accommodations
Other then the bathroom having rust stains in the tub, and the smell of smoke when we first walked in,it was clean. I thought the bed was not that comfortable, my husband didn't seem to mind it.
If this had been $60 a night I may not have had issue with it - but the worn quality of the rooms, filthy old tiles on the shower floor and overall plainness in particular make this place tremendously overpriced at $100+. Terribly disappointed in our stay. The place reeked of some chemical cleaner that must be used. The aforementioned tiles in the bathroom - you need to regrout or replace them, it's just terrible.
Quiet and in a convenient location. Every surface except the bed linens in this non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke. The smell is still on our clothes and bags a day later despite spraying with air freshener. It seems like the room was just changed from a smoking room to non-smoking, or that none of the previous guests paid attention to the "No Smoking" signs posted on every door. Pity.
The beds were very comfortable and the staff was very helpful
Nothing Room was broken down. Had an odor. Bed was so old and uncomfortable, springs were coming through. Only stayed because the room was paid in advance. Room was nothing like the picture on the website, that might have been taken 15 years ago. Never again.
convenient location and worth the price...not a family type hotel since there's no pool, game room, microwave, fridge (in our room at least) but i went with my wife and it was all we needed. i would stay again. In fact we ended up booking a room later the day we check out because we stayed a little later than expected. it's a bedroom. instead of having micro fridge and microwave in all rooms they charge more for rooms with them...however there were none of those rooms available. they should maybe just get some. There nothing above an okay bed.(i would not say it was uncomfortable) shower and tv.
They were very friendly, nobody was rude. They had a sign offering free toiletries if you forgot something and when we called because we did forget a toothbrush they accommodated us happily. Room was clean and comfy. No fridge in the room. I was prepared for this as I always travel with a cooler and they did have an ice machine.
Not much Uncomfortable bed and tiny pillows, noisy drunks downstairs
Very clean, comfortable, and the hardwood is nice! Comfortable bed Good space for a two bedroom Recommend to others!
Clean and spacious rooms.
Staff was great and very attentive to our needs Hallway our room was in smelled like marijuana when we checked in. Room did not have smoke detector. Facilities could really use updating. Room was great but hallways and other facilities seemed out of date and a little run down
We had a large party going back and forth to the casino. The shuttle transported all of us there and back without any issues and even made an extra trip.
The room was comfortable. WiFi access was strong and relatively fast (although it was labeled as "Holiday Inn" even though there is no Holiday Inn nearby). Convenient to an Outback Steakhouse on the property. Bathroom was clean, modern, functional, no extras. Bed was very comfortable and no room noise. This was an utterly standard hotel room, a commodity that offered no more or no less than what a reasonable person would want for an overnight stay. Hotel has a strange two-story layout that seems to be collection of buildings added at different times. No elevator to upper story, either in main building or the annex in which we stayed. The main entrance is from the north Frontage Road, but no signage to take you to the front lobby (and you have to go around the back of the Outback--ironically). There is another drive that leads to the front, but it is barely marked from the street. My spouse was a little freaked out that the room door (622) showed a LOT of daylight around edges. The door did appear to be secure, but would let in a lot of smoke in the case of a corridor fire. Air conditioner was controlled by a wall thermostat, which should have been a good thing. The thermostat had a motion sensor, but the motion sensor did not appear to be working. Room got very warm during night, even when one or other of us got up and moved around. A/C only came on when temperature setting was changed on the panel.
Location easy to get to and convenient to coast Guard academy which we were visiting. Beds uncomfortable, breakfast poor, not even worth eating. Noisy at night. Easy to hear people outdoors, in hallways, and cars in parking lot. Wouldn't stay there again.
I requested a quite room when checking in, and was told the inn is full, and there is no room choice. When we entered the room, it had a loud buzzing sound from some machines. I called the front desk, and was told again that no other rooms are available. I then asked to speak to the manager, and suddenly another room became free, which was much quieter. They could have avoided the aggravation right from the beginning by honoring my request at check in.
Stayed 3 nights. Room never cleaned. Commode broke first night - never fixed! And NO elevator ... Not told before booked into 2nd floor room. No one to help with heavy luggage.
The staff was super friendly. Michael was a charmer. They gave me a handicap room tho I am not. So I missed having a bath! They also were painting the exterior so my windows were covered over for a day or so.And the place STILL has a stale smoke smell. Breakfast was really poor. too basic.
My boyfriend and I planned this trip last minute for a late weekend get-a-way to celebrate Valentine's day. Needless to say, if it weren't a last minute decision, we probably would've went with a different hotel... To start off, we entered the hotel room wanting to adjust the temperature as it was too cold. My boyfriend walked over to the heater and had to literally climb underneath it to rewire in order for it to be used. Second, there wasn't a shower vent in the bathroom and it became very foggy after taking just a quick shower. Third, the bathtub was completely clogged and backed up after having the water on for two minutes. The bathtub mat was even disgusting. Fourth, the bed and the pillows weren't very comfortable...bed was springy and both my boyfriend and I woke up with very stiff backs and necks. Fifth, my boyfriend left our hotel room to go get some ice for water. He passed another room and heard a couple having such violent and loud sex. Complete turn-off. On the hotel's website, they display a picture of the pool and in the corner of the picture, you can start to see a little bit of a jacuzzi...don't let it fool you! We arrived at the hotel STOKED to use their jacuzzi and pool...we were extremely disappointed to see the jacuzzi GONE and replaced with TILE FLOOR. The spa sign and spa timer were still visible on the wall...Last but not least, all of the rooms to the hotel are accessible only by your hotel key (so they say), however, my boyfriend and I noticed that we had to slam the door behind us to make sure it closed tightly and securely...therefore, anyone could've been coming through those doors.
view was nice, comfortable, clean, free wireless, but there seemed to be a limit on number of devices? we ordered room service and it was late....not sure the eggs were eggs either, suspected they were egg substitute or eggs in a carton or some such thing. more creamers needed for coffee....television sounds travelled from neighboring rooms....would have preferred an included continental breakfast in the dining area.
The desk staff were very courteous and accomodating. The wait staff in the restaurant and bar were superb. The room was lovely. No view from room windows. Byop. Bring Your Own Pillows. The pillows provided were horrible; no support at all.
They had absolutely no record of my reservation booked through your website. i got nervous, they had also never heard of you, but the staff called your company phone number (England! i was surprised) and they were of course not open (7pm est) They did however find us a room and upgraded us to a suite w/jacuzzi at the rate listed on my copy of the reservation i printed off the computer. I was
Nice quiet hotel. Near the casinos but not too near!
Mariah checked us in and I was blown away by the customer service she provided. She had an extra room available so she upgraded us, provided us with a few toiletries that we forgot instead if having to buy them in the store, and gave us free Buffett breakfast vouchers. She called the restaurant personally to book our dinner reservation (which we could have done ourselves but it was amazing how she just jumped in with "I'll call for you no problem") every time we passed the counter she greeted us by name and the most impressive part was when she called our room around 6 to see if we needed anything else before she headed out for the evening. I was just floored by her service and how genuine she was. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know and will for sure be back again. Nothing.
Staff was super awesome
Attached to the Red Door Spa. Fabulous. Dated design, rooms and bathrooms are pure function but not pretty or innovative.
Good breakfast, friendly staff, convenient location to casinos and RI beaches
We looked forwarded to a nice meal on New's Years Eve and they had a terrible menu. We (8) had agreed on the Kobe steak and they did not have it on the menu. The 3 selections were not normal meals. After complaining we had to leave because of the lack of care by the restaurant bar managers attitude. As a traveler who frequents the Hilton chain it reinforces my decision to stay with the Hilton chain.
The space in the room was decent. The bed was very uncomfortable, the hotel was very outdated and literally falling apart, there was a mold smell in the lobby and the Continental breakfast was pitiful. We only stayed one night and will never go back.
It was inexpendive and close enough to the ferry. Not particularly clean and quite dated.
Size on rooms Almost everything. Hole in wall. Iron leaked. Musty smell in hall and rooms. Filty elevator and carpet. Lots more issues but will be writing forever.
My room was HUGE. A family of four would be extremely comfortable. Although the furniture was older, my room was very clean. Everything worked. The WiFi had a strong signal and was fast. Plenty of storage if you need it. Close to Walmart. Close to Stop&Shop. Close to the highways although not so close as to have any noise. This place was QUIET ! The best part was 3 nights for $200. Extremely good value, probably the best that I've ever experienced. The free breakfast was just OK. Not a lot of choices. But everything they did have was fresh and good. Pour new concrete in the entrance way. Somebody is going to trip on all those undulations and sue the heck out of you. Change the carpet in the elevator. It can't cost more than $50 and really makes a bad first impression.
The rooms are huge! yes, they are dated, but that seems irrelevant when you open the door and see how much space you find. bed was comfortable and TV was modern and in a good location. Location is 10 miles or so from Mohegan and an easy drive. Short distance off Route 95. Staff was great and accommodating. I paid $91 total for TWO rooms and expected a hole. Instead, gigantic rooms, one was a suite with a kitchen, in a safe, quiet location and all was clean, though dated. it was all good. it wasn't a 5 star inn by any means, but you CANNOT beat it for even twice the price! I will definitely stay here again.
The only good thing was that it was near foxwoods. There was random pieces of tape on the walls and holes in the wall. One of the draws in the kitchen area was duck tapes together and had screws sticking out of it. The dresser mirror was in the closet and one of the closet doors were off. The coffee table had stains on it and the microwave and refrigerator were very out of date and the toilet didn't flush right. Also the sheets and blankets had burn holes in them and the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Do Not believe the pictures the room looked nothing like them.
Balcony Bed bugs
There was a vending machine All the windows were broken, ac in the room was very loud making very loud buzzing noises. The wallpaper was coming off in the bedroom and bathroom. definitely will not kept up with. Great location from Foxwoods, wish it would have been more taken care of.
Pool was available for good hours 6 AM to 10 PM. Clean comfortable room staff was very accomidating. Literally next door to a Walmart and right near all the main highways Had to pay for for breakfast
The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We were very happy with our stay.
Location was great, nice hotel, good breakfast. Don't care for the mattress, tried different adjustments with no improvement.
I stayed for one night . The front desk was very friendly and helpful. We also had breakfast in the morning and the fresh omelets were awesome. We had a good time. Definitely recommend this hotel
Bed smell clean & was very comfortable. No toothpaste, toilet seat was dirty
For the price my wife and I really enjoyed the rooms and the breakfast. It was a short drive to the casino which we didn't mind at all too We're not picky. Everything was just fine
Comfort of room with fridge and microwave. Free HBO Not much left at breakfast if you came down after 9. And all the newspapers were gone both mornings.
Staff were nice and helpful There was construction going on and I was not aware of it when I booked ... I wish Expedia would have told me that. Don't pay for the faster wireless it was not worth it.
Room was very clean. The continental breakfast had fixings for omlettes and making waffles. Front desk suggested a dinner oplace that was closed and in an unsafe neighborhood.
It was very conveniently located I was disappointed that I was charged more than was originally quoted
The rooms were clean and odor-free, the mattresses extremely comfortable, many pillows were provided. My kids loved the continental breakfast, especially the make-it-yourself waffle maker. They also loved the pool. There was a problem with our toilet - it wasn't fastened to the floor - and I was surprised that someone hadn't complained previously. However, when I told them, it was taken care of politely and in a timely fashion. They also took off some money for the time that it was not fixed. There was a problem with our toilet - it wasn't fastened to the floor - and I was surprised that someone hadn't complained previously. However, when I told them, it was taken care of politely and in a timely fashion.
It was nice that there was a frig and microwave in the room. The toilet ran and staff didn't fix it or offer an alternate room. The frig also made a tapping noise non stop. The noise between the two kept us up all night. The door handles were coming loose Sll over the hotel. The pillows were terrible. THE Poil area was carpeted and soaked. It felt gross under your feet. The hot tub wasn't very hot either. Breakfast was all frozen pre made waffles and pancakes and the cereal sugary stuff. The coffee wasn't good either.
Mold smell in hallways
remember your name, check and out was quick. Very knowledgeable about area.
Breakfast. Bedding, shower curtain, and carpet smelled.
Great value ,friendly service and a great Indian restaurant on site. Not a 5 star but definitely a great value.very clean and comfortable rooms with a modern look. Nice rooms!
The sink is in the room not in the bathroom wich is un comfortable.
Plastic covers over the hallway carpets. Patches over the ceilings wall paper peeling. Key cards didn't always work. Fake balconys.
Good price, good location, front desk attendant was courteous, room was a good size, plenty of room. Bathroom was small though and dated, good size refrigerator and small microwave. Not very clean, housekeeping isn't on top of things. Elevator was disgusting. Continental breakfast was a joke. Stale English muffins, bagels, toast and thawed eggos and 2 toasters, one cup of yogurt (not on ice), and 2 apples. Building is very dated. Didn't even attempt to look at the pool.
The bed was comfortable The hotel was old and needed a lot of upgrades to the building and rooms. Ceiling had water stains, carpet was grungy, the microwave was broken and would not stop ticking like a timer (super annoying), the a/c was loud and old. Cosmetically needed a ton of work. The pictures online were deceiving and made the hotel seem cleaner and more updated than it actually was.
Had a very small balcony to help with smoking Had bed bugs
The staff. Room had some bugs in it, water in the whirlpool was cold, breakfast was terrible very limited option and the floors always smelt like weed.
Nothing The place is totally outdated and run down ,around the front desk smelled, the room I stayed in smelled horrible. The bedding was old, stained and had burn holes in it. The rug was buckled and coming up thru out the room. The toilet seat was chipped and had a crack in it very easy to see,how hard would it have been to replace a 12 toilet seat. And 1 of the best feachers when you turn on the ac it blows straight up at the curtains that just flap in the wind and keeps it from compleatly staying closed. I had to put towels and a book over them just do I could sleep and not be woken up at 6am from the light coming in. But I was woken up anyway at 8:15 am from them cleaning a few rooms right accross from me,really 8:15 slamming doors, vacuumes going on how rude. But I guess for $114.00 I shouldn't expect a clean room or sleep past 8. How or who did they pay off to have 3 stars, are u kidding me the Hilton garden inn has 3 stars and that's a 1000 times nicer than that dump. Will never stay their again.
It was located where I wanted to stay. The room was good sized and the cleaning staff were invisible, but had obviously been to the room every day The "free" hot breakfast we got one day was horrible! Everything was cooked badly or just plain wrong. They are dong some construction, so the normal dining room was unavailable and there were no exercise facilities on the premises. The blocked off all the parking next to the building for painting one day (which was half the spots) and neglected to open up most of the for the following day and a half.
Staff greeting excellent on arrival
I did not like anything besides free parking on site. Dirty pillow sheets, and towels! They both still had makeup on them and hair. Lighting fixtures didn't work, beds were uncomfortable, carpet had stains on them. There was an overwhelming musky smell throughout the motel hallways and it lingered in the rooms. I have a strong feeling this place houses homeless families, and there was a bunch of loitering throughout the parking lot and hallways. The mirror in my room had graffiti carved into the wood frame. Ugh just over all a terrible terrible excuse of a motel. Very disappointed you would think a motel chain was decent, this place is just disgusting I felt cleaner sitting in my car after checkout. I only paid $52 for the night after taxes but even that was pushing it for this place.
price coffee maker was broken and they did not have another one to offer. they said they are fazing out coffee makers in rooms.
Bedroom ok for the money, bathroom fan too noisy. Common areas dated, dirty and smelly; graffiti in elevator. Room key card neede re-programming each night of stay.
Nothing. Very ghetto, horrible smell in the hotel, the receptionist was yelling at someone on the phone, people in there were very trashy. So bad, I decided to go to the Hampton inn. Right down the street.
The price, location I was in a non-smoking room that smelled of cigarettes. The comforter on our bed was riddled with cigarette burns. Kind of skeevy.
Nothing place was awful Everything was filthy
The location was the best and only thing good about this place Everything. We had only booked for two nights and had to extend our stay. It was a pretty much sold out weekend for all area hotels so, we had to stay another night in this location. They no longer had the inadequate room that they had originally give us because the night clerk didn't tell them we wanted to extend, and offered us a smoking room for a total of $102. By the time we got to the room it was very late. My sister was staying at the Navy Lodge(which she loved) and told me they had left her a message that they had an additional room. Because of my stupidity of not asking her how much($75) we decided to stay here. It looked like someone had gotten sick to their stomach on the front door mat. The toilet didn't flush. My husband had to kill a number of flys. The room was dirty and run down. We left our luggage in the car because of the smell and had to run in and out in the early morning hours, in our sleep attire, to get our cloths for the day. The toilet didn't flush, the smell from the smoking had permeated the pillows. We had to wrap our sweatshirts around the pillows and crushed the two little bar soaps they provided, into the pillowcases. The light didn't work, the bed was bad, everything was so bad, I can't even comment anymore. Kayak needs to drop this location.
NOTHING Staff were RUDE. Room wasn't even cleaned when we checked in. Beds weren't made. There was trash everywhere and a dirty pair of underwear hanging. Disgusting!!!!
For an inexpensive stay, it was clean and smelled good. Our "King" room was more of a full size bed, and the bed wasn't terribly comfortable, although not so bad we couldn't sleep on it.
price everything else
Room smelled like a bunch of mobsters had spent the day playing poker. The deeply engrained smell of cigarette smoke in the room. When I asked for a new room, they said no. Pretty sure all the rooms are smoking, so there was no reason to switch.
Price "Continental Breakfast" was coffee and cereal. Half of electrical outlets in room didn't work. Water in bathroom backwards - hot instead of cold & vice versa.
Easy check in Grimy, there was a hole in the wall in bathroom. Sheets and linens icky, we slept with our own blankets, used towels we bought at the Walmart near by. will not return or recommend!
We were only staying for one night after visiting the casino. The bed was comfortable. The room is outdated and the toilet didn't flush on first try but overall for a short stay it was fine. We had a cheap rate so it was totally acceptable for what we spent.
It only costed me $60 for the room. Worst $60 I've ever spent. Bugs. EVERYWHERE. Stains on all the beds and bedding. Stains that look like blood on the mirror in the bathroom. Broken furniture. I didn't find any bed bugs, but I also don't know if I missed any. I still made sure to wash everything I brought home with me in extremely hot water. DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. Spend the extra 20-30 bucks at the days inn.
Cheap hotel, won't stay here again! Everything!
The sheets were stained and had hair on them. Our air conditioner did not work and when we attempted to run it a weird smell came from it. When we went to shower she shampoo and conditioner that was left for us was half gone. The towels although folded also had fair on them. It was if the room had been tidied but not cleaned. We were extremely disappointed!!
Very bad service by the housekeeping staff, beds were unclean
Easy to check in/check out Our room was absolutely disgusting. Reserved a non smoking room and it WREAKED of smoke. The room was in terrible shape - we considered leaving and going elsewhere but after a long day of driving we didn't feel up to the task
The room smelled awful. We had to buy a can of room freshener. The furniture was warn. They didn't provide any breakfast other than coffee. If you had a room on the second floor there was no elevator. Friendly and helpful person at the front desk. Good location close to the freeway.
I liked the location close to Mohegan Sun, straight shot to casino and resort. Bathrooms clean, beds clean. Great customer service, in and out quickly with payment Had to go around building to get to room, no inside access. Have to walk around to lobby from the outside.
Wifi was slower than 3G.
Room has a very bad smell, the sink was broken and the Heater of the pool was not working, and one of the reason Why I went to hotel 6 was because of the pool
The bed was comfortable The ice machine was out of order, the wall above the A/C unit was falling apart, no drink or snack machines, and I swear I saw a mouse!!!
Nothing I had to get a refund because the hotel was run down and the door wouldn't even close. Do not go here if you want to feel safe.
It was cheap. The lobby smelled like curry.
Not much. Room was big. Smell, creepy people hanging around make it feel with a welfare hotel, breakfast did not include decaf coffee, fruit or protein (not even peanut butter).
The price was very good, and the place really peaceful and clean
The staff The place was dirty, smelled bad in the hallways and the room. Very dated. Dingy. Moldy. Smoky. Kind of scary.
close to casinos ,breakfest area looks clean and breakfest is of decent quality. Hotel neeeds general updating ,the hallways show heavy sigs of deteoriation and poor maintenace. The bathirooms have poor maintenance ,apliances in rooms look beat up and should be replaced.the beds are ok but general cleanliness could be improved.
Loved how spacious the room was and how homfortavke the bed is. Bathtub was dirty, the comforter looked grungy looking and it was a bit dated.
Location was ok surrounded by restrauant and stores Room smelll of cigarette smoking and even the floor I stayed on, also toilet flush was broken and room was dusty. I Would not stay here again.
The rooms were ver y clean. And it was ready for check in. the only thing the shower was'nt very Hot.
Was apprehensive because of negative reviews but what a pleasant surprise! Rooms large and clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast included. Shuttle to Mohegan was on time and driver super courteous! First time staying here but not our last. Hotels closer to Mohegan were double the price and accommodations are not that much nicer; we know because we have stayed there before. Be sure to check on the shuttle before you book as we were told that it is not always a guarantee that the shuttle is running which surprised us as it stated that there is a Friday, Saturday shuttle. Actually, no complaints but breakfast should include instant oatmeal and bananas; that would have made my stay absolutely perfect!
Smelled like cigarettes. My friend thinks we had bedbugs because she has bites all over her legs
The location of the hotel was situated next to a lot of essential shopping needs. Easy short drive to casinos. I called Days Inn & Suites Groton Near the Casinos several times to confirm a very early check in time, which they had, not only on the phone with me, but also on the phone with my partner. I explained the situation and yet when we arrived we were denied a room, and unaccommodated with a very rude demeanor. Staff is undeniably unapologetic, and completely disregarding for customer service. Which is a complete shame because the room, the location, and the value was completely fair for the price. However, the hotel we stayed in when we were unaccommodated was, by far, a better choice.
Room was in need of painting and general refurbishment. A/C-heater was noisy and couldn't be used. Refrigerator in room was nice, but again very noisy.
The front desk clerk was very friendly. Noise level from the refrigerator and air conditioning was too high for me to rest or sleep . It's an average motel room and not the closest to the casinos .
room very smelly- like a lot of perfume trying to cover up other odors. would not stay here again
The location was good for anyone going to either Mohegan or Foxwoods. Right off of Rt 12 and near restaurants. The staff was friendly. The bed was hard and there were only 2 pillows, but for 1 night it wasn't horrible
