Aside from being convenient to Grand Central, the UN headquarters, and the Chrysler Building, other popular attractions including the New York Public Library, Bryant Park, and Times Square are within walking distance, as is famous sights and restaurants in Midtown West.
The vibe at The Westin New York is more business-oriented than family-friendly, with the only amenities being an on-site restaurant that serves three organic meals and turns into one of the few hopping bars at night. There is also an outstanding fitness center with high-end machines, custom running maps, chilled towels, and free water for guests. The amenity that draws many business guests is the 12,000 square feet of meeting space with high-tech equipment.
Accommodations at the Westin are larger than at the average New York hotel and feature a small sitting area and a work desk. Unlike other hotel rooms, all units here have large windows with views of the Chrysler Building. All rooms have a few eco-friendly touches and many in-room conveniences. The difference between traditional and deluxe rooms is the floors they sit on.

Pros. Nice rooms. Good breakfast.
Cons. I think the quality of the hotel is excellent. I have no suggestions.
Pros. Location near Grand Hyatt where my conference was held.
Cons. Housekeeping should actually look at the "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging off door handle before they walk in on me taking a nap. I hate destination/resort fees. Especially when I have to make multiple emails and telephone calls to get the $35 food and beverage credit I'm supposed to get when I pay the $25 daily destination fee. The head office at Marriott can't do anything. They tell me to call Westin GC directly. The email with the disputed folio lists a Westin contact email that no longer works. I got an email telling me that I should forward my complaints to Marriott, and not the Westin contact email in the folio. When I email Marriott, they tell me to contact the Westin directly. There was mildew on the ceiling of the shower stall.
Pros. Lack of external noise or interruptions. Spacious and well-equipped for the business traveler. The location provides the consummate the mid-town Manhattan experience. Seamless and effortless stay.
Cons. N/A
Pros. Location was great, staff was amazing and prices were unbelievable for a Manhattan stay during NY Now! David, the front desk manager really made us feel welcomed, especially since it was the first time we were traveling with our dog. We were treated with care and loved the size of our room #3212 and proximity to the subway. Would surely stay there again and in fact booked another Westin because of the experience.
Pros. GREAT STAFF, VERY HELPFULL
Cons. DID NOT CLEAN OUR ROOM ON DAY 2 OF OUR STAY
Pros. We loved the comfort, location, staff helpfulness, cleanliness & smooth functioning.
Pros. Nothing.
Cons. Third party booked stay then went bankrupt. No email or advance notice. Hotel receptionist extremely rude and antagonistic. Not enough decency to offer comparable rate to alleviate situation. Never again.
