The pick up and drop off system were both great. My only complaint is the car smelled like cigarettes and we had to get a car freshener to mask the smell. Other than that, everything else was good.

Rental rate much higher than estimate when making reservation. Insurance cost higher than rental rate. Car was below empty on gas on pick up. Check engine light on. Poor brakes. No windshield washing fluid.

I typically do not write reviews, but this experience was beyond irritating. I went to the counter already pre-checked and on the budget app, which made no sense because I had to redo everything again to counter and added a bunch of items to my bill without even asking me, for example, he told me to click the screen five times. OK if I did not read it it said I was being charged for refill gas, which was an additional $90 so please be weary once you go to the counter and they will try to get you for everything if you don’t pay attention to your bill when I got to the vehicle, it was disgusting had stains all over the seat doors inside were all sticky, I would never run this place again

The truck I reserved wasn’t available so dealership had me get a more expensive suv. I should have been offered the suv at the same price of my original reserved vehicle. Worker at pick-up had me sign up for me coverage even after tellling him I already signed up for different coverage and I didn’t know I was charged for the extra coverage until after my receipt was emailed to me. Won’t be returning to Enterprise for any future car rentals.

We booked for 12pm pickup and showed up at 12pm. They close at 12pm on Saturday. We were not able to get the car. Called Hertz and they said it was our fault for not checking the hours. Hours were not listed in the booking confirmation.

Car was clean & in good condition. Excellent communication from everyone especially the manager Tess & the lady who checked us out at the gate, they could not have been friendlier or more helpful. One exception of when picking up the young lady did not seem to know we were covered for insurance & presented us with a bill for $99 she said which was for an extra day, we were not taking an extra day which was clearly stated on our rental voucher (which she did not want to see) I questioned the amount to be charged & this was amended immediately. Overall would definitely use this service again.

Rental in Oakland: Choice of cars was rather poor, seems to be related to the Corona Crisis though. No information about upgrades. No GPS available. Staff was very friendly but was apparently not trained to understand international travellers‘ needs and questiones who havn‘t had a lot of experience on the US car rental market. I tried out a competitor before, which worked much better.

Scheduled a pick up for 9 am. We called at 8 am to ensure our car was ready; they said it was. We arrived only to have them let us know that they were sold out and had been sold out since 6 am and we were lied to. We were told that we had to wait two and a half hours if not more. It wasn’t until we waited in a line of 20+ people to speak to the clerk that told us we could leave earlier if we took an E.V. The customer service at hertz was horrible and thrifty was better.

I rented AN AMERICAN CAR!!! When I got there, all they had was a CRAPPY Korean car ( 2 of them) and no AMERICAN car. You should be ashamed of being in AMERICA and not stocking American cars. Why buy foreign cars and help their economy. REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!

Cons:

I called Alamo twice to confirm that my SUV rental would be AWD as this was the sole reason for my rental to drive into snowy weather and both times was told I would have AWD with any SUV rental. However, at OAK airport I was told I am not guaranteed AWD and in additional OAK airport is the only Alamo location in the Bay Area that charges an additional fee for AWD. Eventually the agent did make an effort to help me get what we needed but the experience was unnecessarily disconcerting.

When we picked up our car, fortunately before we left the lot, we noticed that we had been given a car with an almost flat tire. Alamo quickly put us in another car, but it wasn't until after we left the lot that we realized we were given a car without a full tank of gas. This location doesn't seem to pay attention to details.

I reserved my car months ago with Avis and I even called that morning to confirm it. By the time I went to pick up my car at 3pm my scheduled pick up time, the front desk told me that there’s no car for me to pick up. They offered us 2 SUVs instead of one 12 seat passenger van. We asked if they can help check if other nearby Avis has the 12 passenger van. She just throw me the customer service line and said they don’t have access to other Avis. Not helpful at all and they don’t even care if they ruin your plan. We understand things happen but at least you call us ahead of time so we have time to find alternative.

The drop-off representative was very helpful and understanding of the issues we faced with our car rental.

Cons:

The car had no windshield wiper fluid and no UBS ports so we couldn't charge our phones and have the benefit of a nav system.
