Cons: When we picked up our car, fortunately before we left the lot, we noticed that we had been given a car with an almost flat tire. Alamo quickly put us in another car, but it wasn't until after we left the lot that we realized we were given a car without a full tank of gas. This location doesn't seem to pay attention to details.

Pros: Nice car.
Cons: We were upgraded automatically. We wanted a car that got good mileage and car got 30 miles to a gallon but it used premium. We were in California so it got expensive.

Pros: Clean car
Cons: Miscommunication with the local office and remote information staff. I was told there would be no fee for dropping off the car an hour late but instead I was charged an extra hour plus a day official insurance fee and the excuse was that the 1-800 help line does not always have information reflective of each rental site's policy, which should not be the case! What's the point of getting misguided info?

Rude , Ignorance
Pros: I loved loosing $80 and being hung up on ! Just what I should've expected yeah ? You should expect the "Alamo" service and treatment if you call them.
Cons: They were so rude I canceled my reservation And , I was unable to get my $80 worth of insurance back so that was a big waste so rudeness and cost me $80 ..... y'all run right over there.

Pros: New clean car
Cons: Desk representative tried to push insurance coverage myltuple times even when I repeatedly said I had primary coverage on my CC. Finally desisted.

4 wheel drive scam
Cons: I paid extra for an SUV just so I could have 4 wheel drive. We didn't need a car that big, just needed the 4WD for the mountains. We went to pick up the car and were told that all of their SUV's were 2 wheel drive unless you paid extra- like $190 extra. That is more than the cost of my rental to begin with! I didn't even realize you could purchase SUV's without 4WD. Such a scam.

Rental experience was okay
Pros: They gave me a free car upgrade. Staff were courteous.
Cons: The car smelled like cigar smoke and the smell didn't go away. There was also no washer fluid in the car. Driving 6 hours on the highway without wiper fluid was a drag.

Pros: The check out was friendly and efficient.
Even the woman who greeted me in the lot complimented me on my smile!!
While I was confused about the bluetooth/usb connection the gentleman walked me through the connection with great patience and got me on my way.
Car(Ford Fusion) was clean and it drove well in the rain. The car was comfortable to drive around the Bay Area.
Price was perfect too!!
Cons: This is being picky but, I'd like it more if we could select our own vehicle for the class we choose. Sometimes I am more familiar with a brand and find it easy to adapt, than having to figure stuff out while I'm on vacation. Although, I think it's all a matter of me asking so I think it's just a minor issue.

Unsure if I will go back.
Pros: The Nissan Versa was a nice car. Had zip to it. I appreciated how clean it was on the interior.
Cons: My rental experience was rough. When trying to get the vehicle I was offered protection packages, which I declined because I previously purchased Kayak's insurance for the vehicle. The agent then proceeded to continuously sell me on insurance. She kept telling me I didn't know what my insurance would cover, asking what would happen if my windshield shattered, and passive aggressively saying the car would get damaged and I'd be paying for it. I almost got to the point of canceling the reservation and walking to a different rental agency.
The car was overall good. It did have weird goo marks on the outside of the doors, but it was good beyond that.
Upon returning the car, there were two Alamo agents standing talking. They waved me to where to park, but then proceeded to finish their conversation before even greeting me. Unhappy with both my customer service experiences.

Great experience!
Pros: Great car, comfortable. The car was very spacious and drove very well! No hassles at all.
Cons: Didn't know about the free airport shuttle from the airport would have been good to know about that before hand - we ended up walking for 30min.

More efficient vehicles
Pros: Car had enough room and was comfortable. Operated well and had no maintenance issues.
Cons: Really would like to see more electric vehicles or for a ride like I took(over 1000 miles) at least a hybrid option

Pros: It was so easy since the beginning, with the reservation and the pick up, at the pick up place my sister in-law didn't feel comfortable with the car we originally reserved and they gave us a car where my sister feel comfortable to drive and we end up paying less. Thank you kayak and Alamo rental place in Oakland.
