Horrible experience! Flight was delayed and I spoke with someone in customer service who assured me that my reservation would be held. They failed to mention that it was not held at the same rate and it was going to cost me 5 times more than the original rate. When I arrived they have you enter a kiosk and scan your license and connect you with a virtual representative except I couldn’t get connected and waited 45 min because the people behind the main counter are not associate with Zoom. I would NOT recommend Zoom car rental - such a scam and headache! I WOULD recommend Action a car rental just up the road from there.
Just awful. I was never offered to choose a pick up time, The anpp chose it for me and I was unable to change it, so by the time I got there, they had given my car away. Even though it was the exact time I knew I’d arrive, no delay. There were no other cars available. So I was stuck at a scary, sketchy remote location with no car. This, after I had to call and beg for a shuttle to pick me up from the airport to get me there. Once there, there was no service agent-only a glass booth in which I was to connect to a virtual agent. The technology didn’t work and after four attempts, I had to call a service number to again beg for help. She told me to ask the agent at the counter who works for a different car company, but when I asked him, he said he was unable to help me. More begging through a text for help. Finally FINALLY, a person came out from the back room to “help.” Unfortunately, when I finally got the help, it was just to tell me that they had given my car away, marked me as an “no show” and there were no cars available. I ended up calling an Uber to pick me up, bring me back to the airport to go with a different car rental company. This cost was 5x as much because of a last minute booking. Additionally the guy at ZOOM said he couldn’t guarantee I’d be refunded. Also the pick up area I was shuttled to is sketchy and scary and I would never wanna be there alone at night. Just an awful experience start to finish, that ended up costing me an extra hundred dollars for the shuttle tip, the uber back to the airport, in addition to the extra $400 fir the last minute booking with a different rental car company…and I’m still waiting to get my refund from the Zoom car company from which I was not even given the car I reserved. Never ever ever again will I go with this company, and maybe even not with KAYAK again. Such a complete disappointment and a loss of several hundred dollars and a terrible start to my trip.
Did not get my security deposit
Shuttle was late, after we waited a long time, called and promised 10 minuted delay, "Stuck in traffic", waited much more. Remote agent claimed we were late for pickup time. Fees and upcharges and delay. Would not accept our proof on insurance, extra fee. Finally getting keys, had to search lot for car, 90 degree plus. Car was not washed. Windshield covered with Florida bugs. Car was parked so close had to climb in from passenger door. Car was not the promised make or model. Returning to airport at 2:00 AM front right tire shows low air pressure. Totally reassuring! Entire Zoom experience was unnerving. Cost savings? Unlikely. Confusing changes of company names on "paperwork". Who are we actually dealing with? Fees not hidden, just buried in pages of verbiage. Very inadequate and unclear explanations of charges. Do not Zoom.
Check in is in a sound proof box in the sketchiest car rental pull off ever. If you uber drops you off inside the gate they will get trapped inside-watched this happen first hard. Since check in is over a zoom call. Check out is soooo sketchy. And we never got shuttled there or back since the shuttle could never be found.
