Location and hotel staff. Everything was great.
We were upgraded to a better room, no reason as to why, presumably our original booking they could not fulfil. The upgraded room was lovely though. The barman on the roof top bar was useless. They were supposed to be open until midnight but quite often he shut up at 11.30 and didn't like it if anyone asked for another drink.
Balcony with drinks & snacks at the top was great Sewer gas smell in bathroom- please check the traps/ sewer ventilation!
Beautiful old building at a great location small shower with a shower curtain that would constantly stick on you. Wifi turned out to work only in the small lobby and was very shaky. First got a small noisy room although I asked for a quiet one; luckily could change it.
Perfect location for visiting and shopping Bathroom smell and noise from the street
its location at the centre of Rome is perfect both for sightseeing and for shopping.
free Internet, pleasant lounge on first floor with rest room Spanish Steps a bad location except for luxury shopping--not near historic attractions or affordable shopping
The location and their food(breakfast). Also their staff are wonderful and friendly. the beautifl ladies at the breakfast room are wonderful. they are always smiling, helpful, and service delicious home made sweets non loved the stay and the hotel
The hotel is well situated for seeing the sites of Rome and with most circular hop on/off bus routes passing close by, the opportunity of easily going further than neighbouring attractions such as the Spanish Steps and Trevi. The staff were friendly and helpful and arranged alternative taxi to airport when Margana Travel (booked through Viajes Almeda) didn't turn up. The room, at the rear of the hotel, was comfortable and picked up no street noise. With temperatures about 30C, the airconditioning was very welcome. The cold buffet breakfast was the same every day but was enjoyable and more than adequate to set you up until you got to your next pit stop. The coffee was exceptionally good. The roof terrace bar was good for a relaxing drink. Not a major problem but the shower regulator was a little awkward and had obviously undergone maintenance recently. Bathroom was small but not the smallest we've had in Italy.
Wonderful staff with first rare service.
The staff was amazing. They all knew our names from the moment we checked in and made us feel very welcome and at home. The concierge provided excellent recommendations for food which was always spectacular and reasonably priced. The Palm Court bar is an Art Deco fantasy. Our BEST stay in Rome, and we have been many times. We will only stay at the Hassler in the future!
The atmosphere was great , trendy hallways and cool rooms. Room was too hot
Location The room had a persistent mold/mildew smell that we could not get away from. The bathroom door would not stay open and was very heavy. Staff was made aware and they said they were booked for the night, but we could switch in the morning. We never heard back.
A great place To stay in Rome. Breakfast was regular.
Loved the rooms, the size, and the shower! So many rooms have terrible showers or shower pressure, this hotel was great in that regard
From front desk to breakfast and bar staff, everyone was very welcoming, friendly and very patient with our limited Italian! Large room with balcony was great - very comfortable but not fussy. Great paintings everywhere!
Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the hotel and restaurant. There was a strong oder of disinfectant throughout the hotel. You could feel the springs in the mattress.
Great location, decent breakfast, nice bar, and great staff... Horrible mattress........
Location. The room was extraordinarily dark, and I'm typically a fan of less lighting. It was also much smaller than advertised online; staff said they had included the bathroom size in their calculations. Staff were not unprofessional, but less than friendly and welcoming. This became even more apparent when we changed to a neighboring hotel where staff were superb.
Friendly staff, good space utilizatoin and modern style There is no WIFI Internet service in the rooms. The rooms needs better ventilation. Although they are clean, they can easily catch any smell.
Interior design (of rooms) & convinient location for shopping. We were a bit underwhelmed by the breakfast.
Good but overpriced hotel (as most in rome). Good location (near vatican and piazza del popolo) Small room for a 4 star hotel. Average berakfast.
The hotel staff were very friendly. The showers in the bathroom were a little small.
The location is great. The room was comfortable enough. The hotel lounge was cozy. No wireless connection, despite the hotel staff is persuaded there is one. Ethernet connection + movies overpriced. Multimedia defficiency for a 5 star hotel.
The location is excellent for a good short holiday in Rome. Central. We did not like the first room were put in: room 379: tacky and filthy carpet and aged cranky bathroom.
Location Un renovated rooms, wifi doesn't work well and they make you pay for it, we had to change rooms. This hotel needs to be renovated. This is really not a small leading hotel or a 5 stars hotel as marketed
Convenient possition. Room in need of decoration for standard of hotel.
location II was upgraded from Junior Suit to a Executive suit which had a nice bedroom and a larger then a corridor made up to a living room. You had to watch the TV from a distance of perhaps 2 meters. There was another room with a table in the middle with 4 chairs nothing else which was useless.very small lifts.
the location is perfect to see all the sights. it's very central to the Spanish steps and with in walking distance to the rest of the city it wasn't as upscale as we thought it was going to be, and for the price breakfast should have been included
All ok excpt the air condition. Air condition was bad not cooling enough.
Location was excellent. On a quiet road so not noisy. Staff were not very friendly. Restaurant suggestions were not great and no irons to borrow which surprised us for a 5 star.
Location, friendliness of staff, The rooms at the 5Th floor were unproper of a 5 star hotel, the price is over to high
The staff was friendly and helpfull. The central location is superior. The old world charm and beauty of the public areas, marble, frescoes and stained glass harks back to what the lap of luxury was like at the turn of the century when this hotel was no doubt reserved for the top upper class of society. Because the hotel is over 100 years old she shows her age and has not been kept up to the standards of a Five Star Hotel. She is a bit run down and in the rooms it appears that the money needed to maintain the standerd to which it claims is lacking. The glamour of what may once have been the best hotel in Rome has long since past. She is a grand old lady who is in need of some tender loving care.
Location Did not have Room booked had to pay 200 euros per nite extra for a room available. no heat, room cold .Bkft 1st day bad, got sick spent day in bed diarrhea. Great hotel at one time in need of repairs and renovation. No 5 Star. Restaurant filthy ,shower broke, electrical wires in open in room. Lived and visited Europe every year since 1961. Been to Rome 20 times worst experience.Have pic tires to compare to hotels website, big difference.Front desk not friendly or helpful
The rooms, designs and the hotel staff. no nothing
Location Service and attitude. No internet working - wifi or hotel computers out of order
The hotel is very beautiful. looks like one of the attractions in rome. The room (regular) was very big, alot of space. The location of the hotel is perfect The breakfast was OK, not worth 25 Euro tho. The table by the bed had stuff glued on it and the lamp swich was sticky, but except of it the room's cleaning was fine.
the view. excelent deco. no ice machine
Location was unbeatable. Staff was not very helpful. Room was comfortable but nothing fancy by any means. The pillows were hard as a rock and no Wi-Fi that I could access..
Absolutely NOTHING to like or enjoy here at all. This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in more than 25 cities in my latest trip to Italy. When you consider this is somehow rated a 5 star star hotel (???) it is the worst value for money in the history of hotels. It is literally a 2 star hotel and a bad one - it's a hell hole and a huge tourist trap. They gave me a room with no AC and no hot water! I repeat, NO HOT WATER. On top of it all, even if I had gotten a proper room with hot water, hotel is old anyways and facilities extremely old and dirty, filthy rooms. Wifi does not work nor does 4g/3g signal. Internet access is only possible outside of the hotel. Breakfast is one of the worst I've seen in Italy (or anywhere). They did not deliver what a two star hotel would have. That's all late in the evening after a tiring trip for me and my girlfriend. After hours of discussion and no solution offered whatsoever, I was finally able to talk to the hotel manager. The manager is this French guy who barely speaks some broken English and couldn't care less. All he could say is that things didn't go as planned with maintenance and that it wasn't his fault. Out of the few things he mumbled, he may have offered a drink at the bar or something along those lines, to make up for NO HOT WATER, NO AC, NO WIFI, dirty room, lousy breakfast, and the worst service I've ever seen in a hotel or hostel or any type of housing establishment in the world. The discussion went on for 3 days and no solution was offered at all. This is by far the worst experience I've had in Italy and the worst I've ever had in any hotel anywhere (I've traveled 50+ countries). The cherry on top was the itchy feeling in the end of my stay due to what could have been bed bugs. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Avoid yourself A LOT of stress and a living nightmare and stay as far away from this place as possible.
i like Mr.Luca very helpful person the terrasa was closed ..if i need ice for example i have to pay service 5 euros
The amazing 19th century builting. It's a trip in the past. Amazing. Service.
Location, The luxury of the 19th century and a kind of new roman decadence... It's a political matter.....but nice ! rooms , poor of confort, decoration, bathroom, all thonks that imbeliveble for a 5star hotel..!!!! even a international plug for eletrical shave in te bathroom....
Location. Interior design. Courtyard bar and restaurant is a great retreat in the city. Room not ready for 3 hours after check in.
Service, food and hotel are impeccable. Perfect location.
The staff were friendly and efficient Breakfast was adequate but not great. Internet charges are excessive.
the setting the garden is amazing
The location was excellent near the Spanish Steps and is in a shopping area The price was too high for the room
I liked the kindness from the staff, specially at the front desk , the hospitality, and the food was actually pretty good. There was missing the blanket on the bed , we were feeling cold inside the room ,
Staff was particularly friendly. They made certain I was well informed if I needed more clarification on directions within Rome, as well as other items. Customer service was fantastic. Modern looking hotel with ample amenities. The air conditioner made quite a bit of noise on my final day here and eventually stopped blowing cold air altogether. Since it was my last day at the hotel, I figure I'd not pay much attention to it and go out sight seeing. Still made for an uncomfortable evening however.
Fourth time we stayed there. Close to metro, just a short walk from Vatican, friendly staff, great rooms and bathrooms, totally up-to-date features all combine to make this the best hotel we have ever stayed at in Rome. We will continue to return here. That it took so long to find a hotel this nice in Rome.
Location of the hotel is great, especially if using the shuttle express (only 8 Euros) from Fiumicino airport, the first shuttle stop is roughly 100 meters from the hotel which is a lot better than traveling to the Termini station. Also getting into the center of Rome is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute walk to Vatican City from the hotel. Price is moderate if ordering one of the deals offered and services within the hotel are good, the terrace is a nice place to relax and have a drink after long walks through Rome. Staff at the front desk was helpful.
People relatively at your service Rooms not enough correct for this quality expected and price associated
No free internet' even in the lobby (in 4 stars hotel!!)
The hotel was just perfect as for me: quiet, clean. Very helpful personnel. Breakfast was really good. I liked the area a lot: it just 15 min walking to Vaticano and 20 min to Piazza Navona. Next time I will stay in Visconti Palace Hotel with great pleasure.
cleanliness was as i liked it to be. location was reasonable for the sightseeing i went. breakfast was very good, staff did a good job and were very cooperative and helpfull.
The hotel is of a modern style in a very good location and the room was quite spacious and well decorated. The breakfast was great and the staff very professional and helpful. I could not find anything negative about this hotel and I would strongly recommend it. It a an excellent value for the money. Nothing.
Breakfast included in price and location air condtioning seems not work efficiently at night in all 3 rooms
Great location, close to Saint Peters and a quiet location without street noise.I liked the American style breakfast that was included in the room price. The bed was a bit hard
This is a beautifully updated hotel just blocks from the metro (Lepanto), a seven minute walk to the Vatican. One metro stop puts you at the top of the Corso, two stops at th Spanish stepds and three at the Trevi Fountain. The Spaniosh steps stop (Spagna) is in close proximity to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, numerous shops and some of the best gelato around. The hotel staff are accommodating and personal. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and offer almost any amenity. I have stayed here five times (after staying at some rather expensive hotels in Rome which were very disappointing. That it took me so long to find this gem of a hotel.
location and 'no fuss' check in - breakfast fine and available over a long period. no tea / coffee making facilities in room - limited televsion channels in English - additional charge to watch films and internet. Reality not as colourful as web photos would suggest.
The view from our room (at the backside) at the surroundings with beautiful mediterrenian houses and palmtrees. That view was splendid. But we also appreciatied the room, the breakfast and the service of the personal. We surely come back in this hotel when we visit Rome again. No.
Excellent breakfast. Rooms were clean, tidy and we had enough space.
all stall people were courteous and prompt. Quickly aided or gave answers to our questions.
Breakfast quality is out standing, dinning lounge is quality rennovation and good atmosphere, Front desk personnel attitude, sewage smell in the washroom ventilation, too cold at night,
Very well located. Clean and friendly.
Excellent location for seeing Rome, though quietly situated on a side road. Good breakfast. Efficient staff. No
Hotel located close to Vatican.
The hotel and room was clean and comfortable. The best thing I would say was the location. It is not in the heart of the tourist areas but takes just 10 minutes to walk there. This meant you can easily access the city yet get away for a quiet evening with great local restaurants. The Metro is also just a 5 minute walk away. The only real thing my wife and I did not like was that the hotel desk staff were very unfriendly. Whenever we had questions for them, they really didn't seem as if they wanted to help. They would give the most basic answers and try to get away from you no matter what time of the day or night it was or how quiet the desk was. It was bordering on being rude. No internet in 95% of hotel.
Hotel very well located. Nice neighborhood, walking distance from Piazza del Populo and Castello San Angelo. Staff: efficient, but not the mostly smiling. The "service touch" is simply not there...
The breakfast terrace was amazing, the breakfasts were tasty too and we liked the italian chef! The rooms were spotlessly clean. When leaving the hotel we burst the tyre of our car. The man at reception was really really helpful and kind to us. It would have been nice to have some tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Also would have been good to have a bar on the top floor to take advantage of the views over the city in the evening.
Staff was polite. This hotel has been rated 4 stars which is completely undeserved. The rooms are tiny and the beds were a couch converted into a bed. There was no air-conditioning and we were told that was because it was winter and they only had heating then. The WiFi provided was slow and intermittent. There was an elevator which never worked and was always occupied. The location wasn't great. It's not walking distance to any of the sights.
Staff, breakfast, location nothing
the breakfast is amazing for italy....they even had eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice... it was cold and the heater didn't work.
The hotel staff. The Terrace, breakfast views. Great location. Great stay.
design, comfort, location room is small
excellent breakfasts, omelets, fresh squeezed orange juice and cappuccinos to order and extensive selection, nice rooftop terrace. Room was huge we were upgraded but room itself needs a reno, dated and design standard lacking. The lobby is chic and free use hallway internet a bonus. The safe had a key which we needed to leave at front desk this was unacceptable. Need to upgrade safes to standard number coded style in all other hotels to ensure security. I prefer loations with more historical content but it was not really far to the major sites just more modern and commercial an area.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. Freshly squeezed orange juice, even sparkling wine. Our room was unfinished with electrical wires hanging unconnected. Ceiling was missing under air conditioning unit. Cover plates on electrical switches missing. Only one bedside cupboard and no drawers at all.
Its locations, as hotel is close to most places to visit in Rome General cleaning of rooms and F&B outlets lacks in care of details and it is a big let down......as it could elavate the status of property.
loation, breakfast The bed in the room (509) was very hard to get in and out of and there was no comfortable place to sit.
Just off central, but able to woalk everywhere No
Its position within walking distance of many of the attractions I booked a room with a bath and shower but it only had a shower, they did move us but the subsequent room was much smaller and the bath was so small it couldnt be used
It'a a wonderful, quaint hotel beds were very hard
Roof top restaurant Very dark. Absence of windows
The location is excellent as it is within short walking distance to Spagna Square, between Del Corso Street and Del Babbuino Street.
Staff was very friendly breakfast buffet was very small
The hotel is central to all the usual tourist facilities, like the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The staff at the Valadier are most efficient and extremely friendly and will go out of their way to help. The restaurant is a must and the food is excellent. There wasn't anything we did not like about the Valadier.
I like in this hotel: staff, interior in modern style, convenient place in center of the city. small rooms, bad cleaning of rooms.
great location Very noisy at night with bars in hotel and close by. Rooms very small.
location wasw very good, room was comfortable bathroom needed some cleaning
