View of Overgrown, abandoned hotel across the parking lot and moldy/ musty smelling room.
Despite close proximity to airport, it was quiet. Front desk and house keeping staff were courteous and friendly. The onsite restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Had to wait 30 minutes to check in because they did not have my reservation in the system (it was booked using one of those hotel booking sites). It was eventually resolved but not something you want to do at midnight after a long trip. First room had a telephone but no wire connecting it. The TV set did not work. 2nd room had a telephone with a connecting wire but no dial tone. With two queen beds, room was a little tight, could not sit at the desk and another person get by. In both rooms, toilet seats were loose.
Staff was excellent, room was clean, restaurant/bar on-site, free breakfast, timely shuttle to the airport. It was exactly what I needed to catch my flight the next morning. Bathroom was a little small and there was no conditioner for my hair, but otherwise my stay was great.
Convenient to the airport. My flight was cancelled and this was a great place to stay for the night. Room was comfortable and clean. Wait staff was friendly and the food at the restaurant was very good.
approximate to airport, clearn & staff was helpfull lobby was extremely hot and humid, restaurant was ok... food not so great.
Staff was very friendly and professional. Restaurant was open late and had free room service. Breakfast started early.
Everything about the actual room was nice. We stayed the night in a king size. There was air conditioning, a fridge, and free coffee packets. Overall, I think Comfort Inn is a good name, because we both slept like babies. I wish we were up early enough to eat the breakfast. I'm sure it was good. The staff was nice overall. However, when I checked in, one of the nice ladies at the counter didn't speak English too well. Communication was difficult, but I'm not sure how much control Comfort Inn has over this nitpick. Also, at least for now, there is a lot of construction in the area. So it's hard to imagine what the stay would have been like without it. But neither of us were particularly fond of the prolonged roadwork.
Comfortable, quiet, accessible to airport Reception. Girl difficult to understand. Nasal tone and way too fast and she was resentful when I asked her to slow down and after that was completely unhelpful.
Airport location Nothing
A heavenly oasis conveniently located Absolutely nothing - it was fabulous!
Very nice for early morning flight. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was updated, clean, and comfy. Was everything you hope for in a hotel room after a long day of traveling.
Liked the park and fly component. We were taken quickly to the airport early in the morning and picked up promptly on return. All staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was fine.
Clean and comfortable There was no shampoo & only one pack of regular coffee
convenience, breakfast is fine, clean, near rental car lots and expressway access. polite staff. coffee maker and microwave in room. comfortable bed. reasonable price. I always stay there when visiting Michigan. faucets and knobs in tub were loose and almost falling off.
Great service. I was able to check in early with my mother (on our way to her high school reunion), and then the airport shuttle in the morning was extremely accommodating and allowed me to see her off, and take a nap before my grandkids arrived in the afternoon. All around perfect!!
Room is clean
Location to Detroit airport. Very little outside noise. Could have been because hotel was almost empty. Poor help. Room key did not work had to go back twice. Got stuck outside the hotel and had to walk completely around. AC controls did not function correctly. Unit was flashing low battery. could not use the auto function on the thermostat. So the fan never shut off and it was loud.Bathroom counter was so low it was almost not usable. Pool was under repair. Employees just didn't seem to care. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired.
Nice beds Cold pool, paper thin walls, fan didn't work on the register
A place to sleep. Been to this brand of hotel before and this is not what I expected. Sheets were turned inside out to guessing not washed. Had to slam the door to get it to close. Changed rooms 3 time to make sure I got the king size bed I requested. Rooms had water damage on the ceiling, tv remote was broken along with a the TV which had broken tubes. Maintenance was called but never showed up.
Excellent breakfast, spacious room, good parking Nothing
Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice atmosphere The groups of hockey teams playing hockey in the lobby, running the halls during the night. Parents drinking in lobby and walking and talking halls at night. The hot tub again (second year in a row) was not functioning.
super convenient to spend a night here before flying out of DTW, the shuttle left every 15 mins. my girlfriend and i enjoyed the overall layout of the place, and wished we could've stayed longer to enjoy the complimentary breakfast. would definitely stay here again hardly anything at all.
This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in, I can't believe it showed up at the top of my kayak search. The room supplied minimal toiletries, I waited 45 minutes for the airport shuttle to arrive and then another 25 minutes to drive the mile to the hotel because the shuttle made so many stops.
Front desk and airport shuttle staff was pleasant. Location great. Wyndham Garden lacks commitment to running a quality facility here. Staff was pleasant at desk but facilty lacks attention and it needs a make over. Ugly decor and poor attention to room. My room had dust and crud under bed, bed cover had stains, pillows uncomfortable, TV had only 3 channels with clear picture & no "sleep" feature, dirty water back filled sink during middle of night. The complimentary breakfast & dining area is under a roofed courtyard with pool etc. where the lighting is the same distasteful orange color found in outdoor industrial areas.
The public area's were very nice and appealing. Indoor and outdoor pool were both clean. Room was large bathroom was nice. Large bar area (did not use but looked nice). Biggest continental Breakfast I've ever seen. Slow drain in shower was annoying. Iron chained to ironing board rendered the entire board useless. Bed was very hard, uneven and uncomfortable. Breakfast was HUGE but very limited selection of food. It was huge in SIZE not in selection, but still better than the average CONTINENTAL breakfast.
The garden area was beautiful. Comfortable beds, excellent free breakfast with hot oatmeal, waffles, bagels, a toaster and soo much more. Very relaxing, romantic, comfortable, puts you at ease. Free shuttle to rent a car and airport. Rough toilet paper and the towels could have been better quality. Staff not available 24 hours to bring you towels.
Comfy bed Noisy hallway traffic both nights. Rooms all have doors that slam shut loudly. Cheesy motel heater needed to run all night to maintain 70°f and it was only 34°f overnight.
Very comfortable beds and the rooms were pretty clean. It was under construction, the breakfast area was a mess, cold breakfast only, my fiance got sick from an allergic reaction to something in the sheets.
Great service at front desk. Clean room and nicely renovated. Because construction was going on it did not look very appealing when pulling in for first time. A little noisy at times.
Cheapish Old and grungy feeling to the place
Our room had an air conditioner that didn't work and a leaking ceiling with a full bucket of dirty water under it. The room should have never been rented to anyone. They did move us to another room whe we asked.
For an early morning flight this is a fine location - return the rental car at night, sleep and shuttle to the airport in the early morning. Functional and Efficient. The restaurant needs an update...
The location was great and our room was very clean. The Smoke Detectors on our floor were falling out of the ceiling. The girl that checked us in didn't know the area, and couldn't give us any advise or help on finding a place to go for dinner.
Counter staff were nice, check-in went smooth, and the price was decent. The hotel (which was in the middle of an EXTREMELY messy remodel) literally looked like something out of a war zone. It was hands down the grossest, messiest construction site I have ever seen. There was rubble everywhere, mountains of large chopped down trees piled up outside, paint and stucco every where. It was completely absurd to be running a remodel in an operating hotel that looked like that. The rooms themselves were ok, but many things were out of place, room numbers were taped to the wall beside the doors and it just felt off. I am not usually picky about the 3-4 dozen hotel/motels I stay in each year, but this one was ridiculous.
Employees were fantastic. The beds were rock hard. needs some remodeling. its very outdated.
the flat screen tvs and the beds were nice That not every room had a fridge and microwave
There was nothing redeemable about this Days Inn except for the fact that they had a room for us to stay in We had called prior to booking ahead about whether cats were allowed in the hotel. (We are moving cross country with our cat). They said yes, so we booked our hotel room with them. When I called the day of our flight to let them know we would be arriving late with our cat (our flight was delayed 5 hours), the woman on the phone yelled at me that the hotel has a no cat policy. However, on the Days Inn website, the hotel is listed as pet-friendly. They made an exception for us but I was surprised at the reaction of the front desk person on the phone.
Very easy check in and check out process. Friendly staff. Loved the decor of the hotel. The room was great and the bed was comfortable.
This was our 3rd stay at this hotel. Hotel experiences typically reflects it's local leadership. Each time we return because the hotel personnel are so courteous and professional. Never experienced an untoward event. Hotel staff. Professional and courteous.
It was a very clean, well kept hotel. But the fire alarm went off at 6:30 am and we stood outside for an hour before being allowed to go back inside. No compensation was given for this major inconvenience.
Everything was up st standard
Loved the location and low price. The hotel was close. Clean place to stay right by the airport that was a good deal at the last minute. No need to spend more at other spots.
Convenienve to Detroit Metro Airport
Horrible buying experience. Was flying to Michigan to bury my mother. Connecting flight was missed due to late departing flight. Called when delay was announced, hotel nor purchasing service was willing and able to transfer reservation to a Clarion in the city we were stranded in or give a refund. Just what I need at such a time.
Clean, comfortable room....hastle free for seniors. easy access to our car for loading luggage. Good continental breakfast. Everything was good.
Poor service. Called five times from airport to arrange shuttle to hotel to pick up car
The location was very good. The check in and out was easy. The television remote was not programmed and although the clerk said she would send someone to fix it, he never came.
You must call the shuttle after a certain time to come pick you up, unlike everything on the website which says it runs 24/7 every 15 mins. The front desk lady was also rude.
quiet , peaceful
The value of the price I paid and the cleaniness of the hotel were fantastic
Staff was very helpful, shuttle was very convenient. The rooms were also clean. For the price I expected a little more, the hotel is an old remodel and it shows as you stroll through on your way to your room.
I arrived with my 4 yr old grandson to await my wife's arrival from a business trip, great convenience in relation to airport location .Our stay was great room was clean and very tity.check was perfect until, as I waited for final paperwork to sign I was told not to party in a very tactless and unprofessional manor . He could have been more professional I understand he was just doing his job but most people are travelers not partiers .
George welcomed us upon our late arrival and made sure we were ready in the morning for an early flight. He was a fine example of customer service. He helped us with parking our car for our trip too.
Great room and breakfast
Nice location and clean rooms. I had to take my car to quick park and could not leave it at the hotel for free when I took my trip to Texas.
The staff was very helpful. The entire hotel and room were clean except my bathroom floor was not cleaned well.
The room was clean and relaxing, me and my mom really enjoyed our stay. It got pretty loud in the pool area but i understand that cant be changed.
Very close to the airport. Shuttle to and from. Very clean and affordable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. Would recommend them very highly. Not really a complaint, but the website should state that parking is free for the time you are staying at the hotel, and there is a charge for parking while you are not staying there. Some hotels include free parking for the entire time you are gone on a trip. Glad I called to confirm our reservations and discussed parking. All worked out well with their discounted parking rate though.
Location to airport, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Basic breakfast but acceptable. Parking can be an issue, the fabrics were a little worn but not disgusting.
There so many people in tiny room for breaksfast there no space to get something to eat it horrible tiny roon hard for people to walk thur or no seat availability to sit . Also, bad mattress to difficult sleep and dirty towels.
It was just for 1 night - bed was fine. The trains blaring their horns in the middle of the night into the early morning hours! Woke us up several times.
Cheap and comfortable The breakfast was not continental
The staff is exceptionally courteous and accomodating, smiling and helpful. I had a great short and comfortable stay.
Great price! Smelled a bit like old smoke, loud neighbors and thin walls.
It wasnt a bad part of town, so we felt safe Air conditioning took forever to get cool. And there was a weird smell everywhere except the lobby. Couldn't walk around barefoot in our room without feeling like you needed to wash your feet afterwards
Front desk staff was very friendly, room was very clean and location was great!
My room was perfectly adequate with no serious problems. Checking in and out was easy, quick, and smooth. The only food within easy walking distance is at a Wendy's.
Right next to some fastfood restaurants (Wendy's & McDonald's) which was convenient. Hotel had shuttle service to Detroit Metro (had to pay tip to driver only). Nice & quiet. Keycard didn't work on morning of my check out (had to wait an hour before it was fixed) - Well accommodated by putting me in room opposite (which happened to be vacant) for the time being.
Sight seeing around NY
The fact that they didn't have our reservation when we showed up. Big screw up on kayaks part
The entire staff had a great attitude, the breakfast was exellent and the lobby was very roomy yet personal. We also took advantage of the burger bar, possibly the best onion rings we ever had
The facility was clean and the managers happy hour was good. I called ahead for a room with a view instead what I got was a room with a dumpster view. Also they gave me the handicapped room. Being in honors member I should have received a basket of candy and water which I did not I went to the front desk and ask for it and never received it
Everything excite the maids I did not like the fact that housekeeping opened my damn door 3 times before noon (checkout) they should not be allowed in until after checkout... Bullshit!!
The staff was extremely firendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.
Simple Check-In, good restaurant, spacy rooms equipped with all necessary stuff for a stay around the airport area Long waiting time for free airport shuttle pick-up at DTW airport
Clean, comfortable room close to the airport were the things we liked. For the price, I felt like we should have had some kind of breakfast included. We also thought we would be able to leave our car there, but appreciated the discount coupon for parking.
Near the airport and near dining. Great business stop hotel. You could hear airplanes overhead (close to airport) but the room was comfortable enough and I tired enough that once asleep I never awoke until 5:30a.M.
The air conditioner in the room was quite noisy.
Comfy bed and bedding, great service.
Very clean and spacious! The staff at check-in was very friendly as well. Unfortunately there isn't a good deal around the shower door so the water ran out and into the floor. Had to use all but one towel to mop up the floor.
The hotel interior was beautiful and the room was fantastic. Wished I had a little more time to enjoy the space, really. The parking situation was not terribly clear and even after asking a front desk person I am still not certain I understand how the parking payment works when I get back from my trip.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
the convenience of the bar down stairs for dinner and drinks half of the television channels didn't work the cost of service was expensive
Clean, modern, well-maintained Staff at front desk were surprisingly not up to the level expected in greeting and speaking to guests in a professional manner.
The staff was wonderful. The attached restaurant was horrible.
I didn't feel like the staff was very helpful or willing to go the extra mile.
Clean and prox to airport Parkiing
I thought our room was very clean. It's an older room - older sheets, not great shades from blinds - I had either the sun or a street lamp in my eye the entire time. Bed wasn't comfortable bc old sheets - but otherwise clean. Staff was great. I thought our room was very clean. Very nice hotel, clean and updated rooms.
Clean ... location... On line, offered free parking. Did not specify that they did not have long term parking.
Was shocked at the large size and layout of the room. You need to factor in an extra 5 minutes for the shuttle 2nd stop but quick otherwise
Location to airport Heat kicked off at night based on a motion detector for heat in the room
room service wasn't great -- no salt and pepper provided, no ice water; food somewhat overcooked.
Restaurant was very good I had booked a king sized bed but I got queen sized beds.
Hot tub, room, proximity to Breakfast was some tiny muffins and coffee. It was disappointing.
Front people were very nice First room we got had lights that did not work, in the morning the restaurant wasn't able to open in time for some unsaid reasons so we were not able to eat breakfast there. The facilities seem like they haven't been updated in some time and were very outdated.
Just minutes from airport. Resteraunt/lounge open late.
location Internet speed
The staff- from shuttle driver to the front desk, were very kind and helpful during my stay. Their kindness outweighed tye shabbiness of the hotel. The room could have been a little more clean; bathroom needed to be swept and the room itself needed to be vacuum. Also it wouldn't be bad for them to put a fresh coat of paint in the walls.
The entrance The bed was broken only 5 channels on the TV service sucked when you needed new linens they had to wash the old then bring it back hours later smelled horrible will never stay or recommend again
Clean and quiet. Good value. Tv shows were limited. A little outdated but still presented well.
This place is a nightmare, cold all night and one thin sheet for warmth, decrepit hotel and room, the worst I have ever stayed in, to top it off they don't plow the parking lot so everyone was stuck in snow the next day
They gave our room away
Bed No outlets
Value for $$$ Dirty, loud. People smoking weed and the smell on the hallways. Airport shuttle needs to be called, it doesnt run around the clock
Strictly cheap and next to the airport. Light sheets on the bed only and not really comfortable. Bathroom not really clean. Mold in bathroom area.
This is a basic safe clean quiet place to stay. The front desk during the day is very friendly, concerned about hospitality and full of good conversation. The hotel needs an update but then it would cost more.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though a bit run-down. Free coffee in the lobby. They've got quite the claim to fame: The longest continuous hall way in Michigan! A bit run down, but a great value.
So frightening we put furniture against the door. Keycard says to deadbolt your door and not let anyone in without checking ID. The door has clearly been knocked down time and time again, with the deadbolt hardly attached to the door anymore after being reinserted many times. The back of the parking lot looks like a scene from The Wire Projects. People loudly run through the halls in the middle of the night.
Location. . Needs some repairs, and updates. .
For the price was decent. Don't expect anything amazing. I was content that room was Clean. There was NO evidence of any types of bugs. I did like the fact of Bob Evans being right next door. 1 Day stay from visiting City from Ohio and it was just OK. Did get a good nights rest.
Service was amazing, they were so friendly! Breakfast was very acceptable, value was great! Was a little bit old but nothing that shouldn't be expected for something with such good value!
Hotel is 2 miles from the airport and has 24 hour free shuttle. Great and responsible restaurant next door! We stayed for four nights. Housekeeping was horrible! No one came to clean our room after our first night there. The rest of our stay, they would only leave one set of towels when there was four people in our room! We had to constantly complain and request towels and wash clothes. The lobby is beautiful but the rooms aren't quite as nice. Needs updating and more space. Size wise - the rooms are small and the furniture is old and ragged - needs replacing. I would also suggest bringing a couple of power strips for you technical devices - not enough outlets.
The manager was very helpful even though he seemed a little put off. Rooms were clean and pool was nice. The air-conditioner would only work a few mins at a time and wouldn't kick back on, had to turn it off and then back on repeatedly. When I called front desk for a fan or something they had none and was told to talk to opening manager because they didn't have any other rooms available. Decor a little dated and bathrooms were very small.. No fridges in room.. Entire hotel smoke free but guests allowed to smoke on balcony and the smell crept insurance room.
The Price the water was to hot truly could burn you
Quiet and no problems in the room Waking up to leave
Value Airport noise. You get what you pay for
shuttle, breakfast there was human waste on our bathroom door, it was resolved the NEXT day, that night (we checked in late) we were offered cleaning supplies....I was NOT doing THEIR job!!!
