The Stone House Bed and Breakfast is a great choice for a stay in Hurley. You can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge, and the coffee shop/café is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat. Other highlights include a garden, and rooms offer Frette Italian sheets and free WiFi.
Pros: We loved the quaintness and the variety of things to do on the property.
Pros: Property is beautiful on Hudson River. Trails to walk. Buttermilk Falls, orchards, farming and animals yet a modern, relaxing spa with indoor pool against entire wall of windows and beautiful views. Our room exceeded expectation as did the breakfast.
Cons: A few areas have been neglected--our balcony lots of chipping paint, bench by the Falls was unusable and would be nice to sit by Falls if it was repaired.
Room was stiffling hot with no way to lower heat. Advertised Fireplace didn't work but it felt like it was.
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: The room is the size of a shoebox. This isn't a hotel its glorified bed and breakfast
A great mini get away with a warm rustic charm. Nice staff and scenic grounds.
Pros: Location, Staff
Cons: The room had a slight musty smell from old area rugs.
Enjoy your visit to Milton with a stay at Buttermilk Falls Inn. Guests can visit the spa to indulge in massages, facials, or body treatments, and local cuisine is served at Henrys at the Farm, which is open for lunch and dinner. An indoor pool, a fitness center, and an outdoor tennis court are other highlights at this upscale hotel.
Pros: The staff was really great, the common areas were very inviting and the food was delicious!
After booking, they emailed to say that there was a street festival that weekend that would limit parking by the hotel. I wrote saying I would be tired from my work event, and would the festival be over by my expected arrival on Sunday night? They said yes, it would. Sure enough, when I arrived the festival was still going on. I could not reach the hotel. I called, and they didn't answer (because of the festival, the recording said). I waited an hour at a filling station. They didn't call back. I asked a policeman when the street would reopen, as there was no other way to reach the hotel. I was told two hours at the earliest. I live a four hour drive away. I called the hotel again, got their desk guy, and informed him that I needed them to cancel my reservation and refund my money, as I was driving home rather than wait another two hours at the filling station. He asked if the innkeeper could call me back. I said no, I had to drive, I just wanted them to refund my money. I have not heard from them since, and I have had no refund. I EXPLICITLY asked about the timing so that I could change to a different hotel if necessary. I was exhausted from my work event. It was a very frustrating experience.
Pros: I booked this hotel for proximity to a work event, and because it looked like it would have more character than a chain.
Cons: Their communication with me was very misleading.

Cons: I wasn't really at the hotel that much. But the bed hurt my back

Pros: Didn't feel like a hotel room at all. Actually its a bed and breakfast. Owners very nice and always willing to accomodate. Room was spectacular and had its own very nice bathroom. In the middle of town and convenient. Nice front porch to relax on with a cup of coffee.
Cons: A little cluttered in lobby but I guess that also makes it homey.

Pros: Contemporary and well decorated. Manicured grounds. Rooms very comfortable with modern conveniences.
Cons: Bistro in the lobby had skeleton staff on a Saturday night. Must order food at the bar. Food is essentially snacks or heated sandwiches. The breakfast hours ended at 10 a.m. Sunday which was not made clear to me when checking in.

Cons: You could hear people above you and next to you, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy our stay. Seemed outdated and staff was so so. When needing a cab, they gave me the number instead of calling one for me as their guest. Shuttle service was misleading on website. Not available for needed hours. One of the reasons I went for this hotel was because of the shuttle. It was a waste. Will look elsewhere next time heading up to the Culinary Institute of America.
Pros: Love the rooms very nice and. Comfortable
Cons: Wish the breakfast was until 11 instead of 10.

Pros: Hotel was clean and front desk staff were friendly. Rooms are large, comfortable and have a nice lay-out.
Cons: NOISY! Freight trains passing in the night can't be helped. Emptying the trash dumpsters under our window very early in the morning should be re-scheduled. Housekeeping staff POUNDING on our door at 9:15 am when checkout time is 12 noon is unnecessary. The corresponding rude comments made by housekeeping staff are also disrepectful and unprofessional. Very disappointed.
Pros: If you're staying up by Rhinebeck, Kingston, Saugerties this is a no brainer place to stay. It's very clean, and the staff is fantastic. The pool is small, but indoors.
The hotel is in a shopping area which can be really useful if your forgot a bathing suit. There's a Target and JC Penney within walking distance.
Cons: The Bistro has microwaveable food and Starbucks coffee in pump carafes. The food isn't terribly good, but there are many, many other options outside the hotel.
The view from your room can be less than inspiring especially if you're looking out at the dirt field waiting for construction of some kind.
These are both very, very minor issues and shouldn't take away from how clean, efficient and well located this hotel is.
Pros: We attended an appointment with our Autistic son's bio-medical doctor nearby so location was key.
We enjoyed the pool, bistro and the fact that you have alcohol.
Cons: Certain staff could be a tad bit more friendly.
Alcohol prices were a bit high.
Breakfast only served to 9:30am/10am weekdays/weekends.

Pros: Nice and quiet. Bed was comfortable great to come back and relax after a long day at the horseshow
Pros: Location to downtown and through way
Cons: Pool/rec area not usable because of remodeling. The fumes from the remodel were choking and not ventilated at all. When we informed the manager of this, she was ambivalent about the issue.
Pros: renovations were very nice and the hotel was so quiet
Cons: The staff at the front desk was exceptionally rude when we checked in. The rooms are dated and unclean - our shower had black mold on the ceiling. While the campiness of the "holidome" (an inside pool and arcade located in the middle of the hotel that looks like it dates back to the fifties) was amusing, it did not make for the best view outside of our hotel window. Many of the rooms, like ours, had a view of the inside "dome"/courtyard and absolutely no natural light. The hotel was under renovation, which meant much of it was unusable and the parking lot had a pile of old toilets and dressers (like the furnishings still in our room) in the corner. Absolutely ridiculous that this place is $200/night - we would have been better off staying at the SuperLodge down the street. Then at least we'd only be paying $70/night for what I can assume is the same quality of stay.

Pros: The facilittle was clean. The breakfast was good but more seating on outside patio would have been a nicer touch.
Cons: Our bathroom door would not shut. The bathroom looked like shoddy work was done to try to fix door and something else but not done well.
Pros: we stayed at the best western for vassar college parent's weekend. it was the perfect location to go back and forth to campus. the room was big and comfortable and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. i would stay there again!
Pros: Reception was very friendly, gave us a credit, and did pretend to try to move us.
Cons: Didn't hold reservation and gave us downgraded room. TV reception terrible "because of the rain". TV remote did not work. AC barely worked. Tub drain broken. Breakfast was minimal and low quality. Shabby, old interiors.
Pros: Wonderful; staff, clean room
Pros: The staff member working in the morning was great. She was personable, helpful, checked on specifics of our stay, and apologized for the mistakes that were made. Also, the breakfast was great-lots of choices.
Cons: The person on staff when we checked in was NOT very friendly, and did not offer information. I had to ask about the evening reception, which I found out about when my confirmation email was sent to me.
I had requested extra towels, which we did not receive.
Also, my bill did not reflect my kayak rate. I was charged the regular Best Western rate. When I pointed it out, the morning staff person did get it corrected.

Pros: The room -very clean and comfortable. And the setting was lovely and convenient
Pros: It was a nice resort with everything! The courtyard was picturesque. I definitely enjoyed staying in a suite, rather than a room. Everything was clean. I liked the pool and hot tub. The free breakfast was definitely to die for. Lewis Chiu
Cons: Lewis Chiu
Cons: Noise from other rooms
Pros: One Of The Best In The Poughkeepsie Area, Centrally Located And Mins From Everything You May Want Or Need. The Separate Living Room/Kitchen/Dining/Office Was A Great Space. Plus The Couch Pulls Into A Bed Which Is Great!
Cons: Liked Almost Everything. Only Thing I Could Even Say I Didn't Like Was Parking BUT It Was Sold Out So Can't Complain Much.
Pros: Staff was friendly and the accommodations were great
Cons: There was nothing I did not like about the hotel
Pros: The pool lol
Cons: No everything was perfect staff Were great and Hotel employee is excellent.
Pros: Exterior and facilities were clean and well kept. The bedroom was adequate with sink, microwave and fridge.
Cons: Bed was not a King however and seemed smaller than a Queen. The mattress was very uncomfortable, the worst I've slept on in what I can remember and I've stayed in about 50 different Hotels in my life.
Pros: Mostly everything except the mattress on the bed. To soft. Not firm enough. Other than that very clean hotel, excellent accommodations, etc. Overall we (my husband and I ) had a very pleasant stay at the Residence Inn. Surely, we would stay at this hotel
Cons: While the room was very nice, clean, with modern furniture, granite countertops, etc. the mattress on the bed was not as firm as I would have liked it to be.
Pros: Staff were very pleasant
Cons: bed and pillows were fairly soft.
Pros: The location was absolutely brilliant for me, and it does give a homely vibe while you are in the room. I just stayed here for one night, but will defiantly come back
Cons: I can hear the snoring from the next room, which was kinda funny in a way
Pros: The room was a nice size. It had a separate living room and kitchenette.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very nice.
Cons: Workout facility was very small.

Pros: I was skeptical but it was clean and did the trick for a night passing through. Staff was friendly. Sheets and pillow cases smelled fresh. I work in hotels so I'm picky and know what do look for. But the room I stayed in was clean. Can't speak for the rest.
Cons: The bed was firm but some people like it. The walls are thin. I could hear others accessing their room and it almost sounded like they were coming in my room. But none of this is the hotels fault. They are doing a good job with what they have.
Pros: The hotel was a good value. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the property was clean. Additionally, the hotel was only a short drive from the CIA.
Cons: The property has seen better days. The bathroom door in our room didn't latch. The exterior security door near our room opened without scanning a room key. While the hotel is a smoke-free facility, smoke was always present in stairways and hallways.
Additionally, the property does not have an elevator. Travelers should request a room on the first floor, otherwise you'll be carrying your luggage up and down stairs.

Pros: The bar was great... Front desk, great...rooms, nice...overall, nice... Could be better
Cons: The attention to detail seemed lost... Dings, dents, bad painting..... Basic hotel upkeep seemed lacking...
Pros: We stayed here a few years ago, and they've definitely been upgrading. The rooms and the hotel are much nicer than I remember. The front desk staff was really welcoming and helpful. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. The location is really convenient.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast is really bad. Wedged in a back ballroom, everything was cold and half-hearted. It took forever to have basics like cream and water pitchers refilled. There are tons of great diners in the area. It's definitely worth venturing out and paying elsewhere.
Pros: Heating system out dated
Cons: I couldn't. Get a double bed room

Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with room service and free WiFi.
Pros: It was a good value for the money, conveniently located and had a surprisingly good little breakfast for such a small hotel. Suggest that you advertise Free Wi-Fi because we almost cancelled our reservation because nowhere was that listed!
Cons: The fact that the hotel was under renovation and had no hot water-rather inconvenient!
close to New Paltz Village without being too close
easy access to main highways
Cons: Entrance is easy to miss on Terwillinger Street
Pros: The room was simple and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the price was right.
Cons: Lots of cigarette butts outside despite the receptacle provided. That's on some rude guests but a sign or two might help.
Pros: Everything was great! Great value and perfect location to visit the SUNY New Paltz University!
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: The biggest problem was the HVAC unit in the room. The mechanicals were so noisy that I was awakened every time the unit went on. It sounded very very dated. Another issue were the dust mites that got my allergies going. This was not unexpected.
Overall, the hotel was an inexpensive place to rest my head that is need of an update. In a pinch it would do.
