Pros: We were able to check in a little earlier. They had a great breakfast.
Cons: The rugs, and couch could use a steam cleaning.
Pros: Every staff member we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable although perhaps slightly smaller than I was expecting. We were on the top floor near the end of the hall which made our multi-night stay nice and quiet. We would stay there again.
Cons: The entrance is hard to spot at first and since the hotelast is on a divided highway, if you miss it, it'seems a nuisance going past it to the next exit, going back the other way to the exit and then driving to it again.
Pros: The rooms are comfortable. This hotel is not equipped with a larger fridge and there are not some of the amenities you find in other extended stay hotels. The hot tub was broke and we were never told of that when we booked or upon check-in, it was a surprise. The elevators certificates were out of date so that made us uncomfortable. One by 2 years! The staff was friendly..the buffet in the morning is by far the best part of this hotel. They offer far more options than a typical hotel buffet. Would definatly stay here again the proce was right.
Pros: Nice rooms, pool (a little small but not busy so it didn't matter for us) and whirlpool. Great hot breakfast. Close to highway. Excellent value for the price. If it cost as much as some other hotels in the area I wouldn't give it such a good review but for the price it's great. Clean too and we were able to check in a little early.
Cons: Sofa bed mattress is quite uncomfortable, though they always are. I thought little shampoo bottles were usually standard but not included here - I found my own but I assume it's available on request. View is not great - highways on both sides and a grungy pond on the other.
Pros: The staff was kind and courteous. We made several requests which were responded to astonishingly quickly. Our room was beautifully decorated and was very well-suited to our needs. Our group was a teenage son and his parents, and the layout of our room kept us all comfortable. The room had the sleeping space separated from the sitting area by a partial wall, and the sitting area included a sectional sofa, a desk and a kitchenette area with a sink, microwave and refrigerator. The space allowed us to keep our own schedules without annoying each other or bumping into each other. The breakfast was very nice, very high quality. We would stay here again on our next visit. Although it's not in the downtown area, that's a small trade-off for a very reasonable price at a very fine hotel.
Cons: The beds were softer than we like.
Pros: The rooms were incredibly spacious and comfortable with many interesting modern design elements. The complimentary breakfast buffet was great and the location was conveniently close to Boston. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Close to lots of stores, restaurants and other shopping needs.
Cons: Busy section of Route 1 to get in and out of. It took us a while to safely get out during rush hour traffic. The hotel is close to a turnaround though so that's a plus.

Pros: Reasonably priced. Walking distance to everything in Salem. Room was always clean. I definitely would recommend.
Pros: The staff was wonderful
Cons: The bathroom was too drafty
Pros: Quaint 1920s hotel remodeled decently. Nice ambiance. There's a letter drop at the elevator, two good restaurants in the lobby, and the staff are very helpful.
Cons: You cannot control the temperature in your room. The heat as a central system either on or off. Consequently, my room with broiling when I got there and had to open the window even though it was 10° outside. I have no idea how it is in the summertime.
There are no refrigerators microwaves or anything like that easily available. The water that comes out of the faucet tastes funny and has a lot of sediment so the hotel gives you a bottle of water every day. I had to buy my own water though because that is not enough.
Situated by the ocean, Hawthorne Hotel is a great choice for a stay in Salem. Guests can visit the fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Nathaniels, one of 2 restaurants, which serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast and dinner. Other highlights at this historic hotel include a bar/lounge, and rooms offer iPod docks and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: When we walked at first glance it was Beautiful! The setup was on point. We didn't have any complaints until we started using things.
Cons: Toilet happened to be clogged straight away, husband fixed it. The refrigerator started to leak this nasty brown oil substance which I'm assuming is for the cooling. Husband also cleaned that up. And then we had no hot water which we couldn't fix.
Cons: Somewhat hard to find with difficult access the first time through. No signage until one is past the access street.
Pros: It felt like a home away from home.
Cons: The coffee and breakfast weren't so great, but we just bought our own and brewed it in the kitchen and got our own breakfast bars. Not really a big deal.
Pros: Relatively new, suite clean, breakfast more than adequate
Cons: parking is first come, first serve, breakfast area crowded, first floor entry cramped and claustrophobic
Pros: The staff were very ice
Pros: Room was clean, bed was good, breakfast was pretty good
Pros: Staff was professional, friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean and well appointed.
Cons: The pull out couch bed was awful! It was like a bed of springs with a blanket on top. Pretty much like sleeping on a bed of nails. Sleeping comfortably is the main focus of a hotel stay, so this was very disappointing.
Pros: it was fine for what we needed - a place to sleep. Free breakfast and coffee 24/7, staff quickly got us extra blankets and pillows.
Cons: Could hear people outside of room, pull out couch was very uncomfortable. Room smelled odd when we first got there.
Pros: The clean room with a fireplace and decent free breakfast and evening snacks. The friendliness of the staff was an added bonus.
Cons: Unfortunately, it was -9 and the pipes froze in our building so we woke up to no water. We had to move 3 times, since the 2nd room didn't have a fireplace, then the 3rd didn't have closets. No compensation was offered for incident.
Pros: Hotel Employee at front desk excellent! full kitchen.
Cons: noise from outside - thin bedding/towels - overall though as expected - no real complaints
Pros: Room Layout Breakfast selection

Pros: Christmas decor was gorgeous and there were Christmas cookies and hot cider offered on entering. The whole lobby smelled of cinnamon which I found charming. Bathrooms offered an extensive number of amenities and bottled water and robes. We mostly enjoyed the restaurant as well. Location was great, could walk to the Salem walking tour and many historic attractions.
Cons: Check in was very slow and an elevator was broken giving off a constant beeping. My sirloin was undercooked, even after sending it back twice and it took minutes and my announcing myself to be seated for breakfast even though there was only one other customer. But most disappointing was the way my young adult son was questioned when he came back into the hotel in the morning after making a trip to the car. He was making a cup of coffee and front desk staff approached him accusingly, asking him to verify his room number to assure he was indeed a guest. He was shocked and offended.
Pros: Ease of access to major routes near Boston, very clean, good food at Regatta pub
Pros: My daughter and I stayed here the night before a swimeet close by. It was clean, the restaurants folks were very helpful and had good food and it was a reasonable value. This was in the winter, so we didn't walk around at all outside.
Pros: We have stayed here 3 times for kids sporting events, it's the only hotel in the area with an indoor pool. Plenty of shops, restaurants and museums within a short walking distance.
A great choice for a stay in Salem, Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites features a marina. Guests can take a dip in the indoor pool or grab a bite to eat at The Regatta Pub, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A bar/lounge and a fitness center are other highlights, and rooms offer up nice touches like premium bedding and bathrobes.
Cons: Is what greeted us as we opened the door to our room. Worn furniture, way-too-soft, saggy mattress and a barely pleasant desk clerk made the price for this room exorbitant, and out of character for all the other Marriott properties we've stayed at. We'll never stay here again, and would not recommend it to anyone.
Pros: This is really a 2 star charging 4 star prices.
Cons: High price. Low end feel.
Pros: Good clean comfortable rooms.
Cons: exhaust fan in the bathroom is too weak and breakfast room is too small.

Pros: Very clean. Excellent restaurants near by. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Screwy location. Not easy to locate or drive around. Confusing.
Pros: I am very allergic to dogs and although this is a dog friendly hotel, there was no evidence that a dog had ever stayed in the room. I did not have any allergic reaction.
Pros: The hotel was beautifully redecorated and everything was very nice. Our room was perfect - two double beds in the bedroom with a door that closed, a bathroom with entry from the living room or the bedroom and a pull out sofa bed. We loved it!
Cons: The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner and they accidentally charged the wrong card for our first night. They immediately offered to fix the situation with the card and all was well after that.
Pros: I love the ceiling fan in the bedroom. I am always alternatring between hot and cold when at a hotel, but I was able tohave a nice air flow in the room, like at home, with the ceiling fan.
Cons: I wish they had more parking, or enforced their parking. One night I came back late, about midnight, and there were no parking spots. There were however tow trucks parked in the lot sideways, taking up multiple spots for themselves.
Pros: i really like the staff . everyone was nice . the pool was great , just missing the jacuzzi like the other homewood suites.
Cons: the toilet got clogged easily and we didnt even use that much toilet paper. we had to pump the toilet ourselves .
Pros: The management and the staff. We all expect staff to be friendly. This staff was not only friendly , they would actually go out of their way to accommodate everything that they possibly could. Outstanding.Exactly what we want In a hotel staff.
Cons: A heater outside . That's all that was missing .
Pros: Nice room, wonderful breakfast, courteous staff, dealt with the problem of not having our reservation for first night very well and with great courtesy and in a way that ultimately was good for us, though painful and disconcerting when it happened
Cons: Did not have our reservation when we arrived (after driving 60 miles). This was very upsetting. Evening complementary meal that the was offered while waiting to solve problem was horrible, They put us up at a sister chain at their cost.Good resolution.
The hotel was great. The staff were wonderful, especially Hotel Employee at the front desk. She was so helpful. I actaully joined the Holton rewards program while staying there.
Pros: Ceiling fan in the bedroom. Ususally when in a hotel I wake up hot, then adjust the temp and then wake up cold, on and off all night. I put the temp on what I like, put on the ceiling fan and slept all night. air flow and white noise = awesome
Cons: the air freshener in the business center needs to be taken out. it is a very small room and is closed and then when you are in there the freshener automatically goes off and it practically gave me an asthma attack it was so aweful
Pros: The staff at the hotel was friendly and accommodating and the location was extremely convenient to both the city and the suburbs. The common areas, pool and breakfast area, were clean and well maintained.
Cons: Our room was a good size and the layout was consistent with the pictures. The shower in the bathroom had a mold issue around the corners and around the soap dish.
Pros: Nice big room with kitchenette.
Pros: The room lay outthe hot breakfastthe dinner
Cons: The tub did not feel normalgetting to the hotel was tough
Pros: Nice suite, clean, friendly staff with satisfying warm breakfast. Fabulous Italian restaurant very close.

Pros: The morning breakfast and afternoon wine & Cheese
Cons: Parking a block & half away and loading car in the front location no parking what so ever. We were on the top floor no elevators kind of tuff when you are traveling with small children.
Pros: Beautiful historic house with wonderful breakfast rooms and helpful, friendly staff. I would not renovate the history from the Inn. I would stay again. It is a plus that it is in walking distance of everything we wanted to see.
Pros: Location. Style. Price. Reputation.
Cons: Parking was limited
Pros: The hotel was in a great location..close to alot of the activities we chose to participate in. Within walking distance.
Cons: The parking accommodations and the whirpool tub had something crusted on it that we tried to clean off and it would not clean off.
Pros: Loved it's character. Appreciated good breakfast. Very wonderful for late accommodations with good directions how to enter, great details. Appreciated family friendly.
Cons: When we arrived the air conditioning was way too cold and it took a long time into the night for the room to warm up. Grateful there was another blanket. We were happy when we moderated a comfortable temperature.
Cons: There was no tub and the hotel was somewhat off the beaten path as far as Hotel Employee goes. It was the difference between driving and walking; we drove.
Pros: Within walking distance to everything.
Pros: Great location as we were able to walk to all the attractions we had planned for the day.
Cons: They need better track of rooms we got woke up in the middle of the night as someone unlocked and walked into our room. We were told the Inn Keeper didn't realize the room was taken. The room could be updated with decor and also needed a mini fridge.
The Salem Inn is a lovely Bed & Breakfast with friendly staff and a warm & charming appeal to the buildings. The rooms are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There are 3 separate houses that make up the Inn. We stayed at the Curwin House on Essex St which was not as heavy with traffic. A beautiful, romantic & quiet little get away!
Pros: It felt like we were staying in our grandparents' house. Very comfortable, warm and inviting feel. The room was beautifully decorated as well. Perfect location to enjoy the history of Salem on a quiet street.
Cons: There was no guarantee which house we would get.
Pros: Loved the character of the old inn and the location was super!
Location was excellent. Within walking distance to most of the Salem attractions.
Cons: Not really. Third floor room gave us a little workout.
Pros: Was a nice place to stay.
Cons: hard to find at night, had to go to another property after we checked in.

Pros: 'Arrive as strangers, leave as friends' is a sign posted by the front door. Worked out to be true. The owners are very nice & interesting people. Very helpful with facts and recommendations (restaurants, sites, etc.).
Cons: Nothing of note

Pros: The cafe was excellent and very convenient. So nice to sit on the sofa and watch football. We love Starbucks coffee! Also, we had forgotten some things, and the staff provided them for us. They were also quick to send housekeeping to our room when needed. The hotel was quiet, and there is a mall across the street. Great stay!
Pros: The room was super comfortable, the refrigerator came in very handy, and the bathroom was beautiful! I enjoyed the lighting in the room being rather soft than in-your-face bright, I loved my stay in your hotel.
Pros: I liked the bed and how comfortable it was. The hotel was clean.
Cons: I didn't like that every morning around 8:00 I would be awaken by the loud talking of the housekeeping staff. It was as if they congregated around our room and were yelling towards the door. It was horrible!

Pros: The water park was the only part that was enjoyable.
Cons: The lack of customer service , staff was very inconsiderate and very hard to get intouch with. They made you feel as if you where a bother.
Pros: Great value. The room was very comfortable and spacious.
Cons: The restaurant needs some work. Does not have a greeter and staff does poor job on responding to patrons waiting to be seated. The baretenders could care less about being there. Stayed 4 nights and could never get anyones attention to be seated to have dinner. Had dinner one night at the bar and the bartender acted like I was bothering her for drinks and ordering dinner.

Cons: the restaurant fell short of our expectations, on a Friday night there was virtually nothing to choose from and what we ordered was not good; although breakfast buffet was quite good. tiny bedroom with nightstand on only 1 side. location is far from shopping and restaurants. pathway to beach and beach itself were nice.
Pros: The place was beautiful. Right near the beach. Only a short 15 minute drive to Salem.
Cons: The hotel charged me for the same room three times. I confronted them and at first they apologized and admitted mistake, then after talking to the manager she said that they always do that and there was a sign at the front (which I didn't see) that's says they do that. It's been over a week and I've only been refunded once. Not twice. The rooms are small. The AC decides when it wants to work. Won't be going back.
Cons: Room was very small.
Front desk staff: 3 out of 4 of them were brainless.
Residential back road location impossible without GPS.
Overpriced for what it was.
Pros: Location in Beverly, close in eateries, quiet place when we stayed there. It's definitely a gem. Down side is that the rooms are a bit small and it gets sold out on week ends for Weddings. According to the desk clerk they were sold out Fri, Sat 51 weeks in 2013, 2014 looks even more active.
Situated by the ocean, The Wylie Inn and Conference Center at Endicott College is a great choice for a stay in Beverly. Guests can visit the 24-hour fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Fountain Cafe and Bar, which serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast and dinner. Nice touches like pillowtop beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms, along with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Pros: The room was very comfortable. The hotel was easy to find and the man at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. I wish I knew his name to tell his manager because he went above and beyond to help and make us feel welcomed.
Cons: They probably should warn you it's under construction. The shower was old, smelled of mold and looked dirty. Again it's under construction so maybe they are updating this soon. By 8:00 am they had run out of panckake mix, the lady working wouldn't bother to find the ingredients since, "it doesn't matter we're out anyway." They still had chocolate. It may have been something we wanted but due to allergies and lack of caring on her part couldn't try. There was shampoo but no conditioner. All very type nitpicking things but you asked. For all that is going on at this hotel there should be extremely discounts to encourage people to stay. It was too expensive for all the minor things not so great that added up.
Cons: THE AC DID NOT WORK WHILE WE WERE THERE. We notified staff several times and no one fixed it. It was warm in the room on a hot, humid day.
Cons: The place needs to be updated.
Located in Danvers, MA,North Shore Hotel is 6 miles from historic Salem and 17 miles north of Boston.

Spacious guestrooms include complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, desks or activity tables, and direct-dial phones with free local calls. TVs come with complimentary NESN (New England Sports Network) and pay movies.
Pros: Staff was really friendly and the sheets were super soft.
Cons: Our bed skirt had multiple rips in it hanging down, there was a hole in the lamp shade, our bathtub leaked onto the bathroom floor and the leather was peeling off the bed post. The whole floor we stayed on also wreaked of cigarettes.
Pros: Having my wedding there in August 2016
Cons: The carpets had visible stains all over them. Other than that, I'd say the room was pretty clean and inviting. It was kind of a bummer when the carpets ruined the overall vibe of the room.
Pros: It is located on a busy, business oriented highway. Nothing special about ambiance, but the rooms were clean, good size and beds were comfortable. Registration staff were efficient and pleasant. Just not the type of place that I would want to hang around. Good overnight and go type place.
Cons: Everything. Website states that hotel has easy access to the commuter rail into the city. This is incorrect. It is outside of the shuttles "travel zone" and when we inquired about getting to the terminal we were coldly told that we needed to take a cab that would cost $35-40 every trip. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. We were made to feel like an inconvenience whenever we inquired about using the hotel shuttle. Will never stay again.

Pros: The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and quiet. It's not Fancy, but if you are just passing through its perfect! It was close enough to go see the heart of Salem without having all the hustle and bustle and noise...and it's right off the main drag through town!
Cons: Our room didn't have a microwave or fridge, but we didn't need one either. It may be a detrimental factor to others, though.
Pros: Great staff, clean, very large rooms.
Cons: Not enough boats.
Pros: Clean, Friendly staff. There are cats in the lobby, beware in case you are allergic.
Cons: It's dated, but very clean.
Pros: Room size, Clean
Cons: Could not close window curtain if you wanted to use air conditioner. Extremely outdated. TV too small, No list of TV channels, no security lock on door. Bathroom water faucet difficult to use. Too expensive for what you get.
Clipper Ship Inn is a great choice for a stay in Salem. Free perks include WiFi and self parking.
Cons: The key card reader didn't work so the attendant had to let me into my room - but he helped me with my bags.
Pros: The place is nice and clean. The rooms were large with a kitchenette. AC worked well, beds were comfortable.
Cons: One staff member was constantly interrupting the other while we were checking in. Breakfast is literally prepackaged muffins and coffee.
Pros: It was quiet.
Cons: Breakfast was a granola bar and black coffee.
Pros: Extended Stays are great for the value.
Cons: Watch out for the free breakfast items. I had a bad stomach all day from it.
Pros: That is was a studio
Pros: Very unhappy about this stay. All of the counter people were rude
Cons: Where the bed was was a little clostraphobic. Also, no conditioner with shampoo and no one told us they didn't clean room without being asked.
Pros: It was quite and it looks like they just remodel and are still renovating the hotel.
Cons: My room reeked of stale old fish. I told the front desk and they knew about it. Seems like other customer who stayed in room 122, had also complainted! I was reimbursed $50.00 for my grief but I stood there 3 nights. Never again will I stay there!
Pros: Recently renovated rooms. Overall clean.
Cons: Toilet ran until I turned off the water. Room was on floor being renovated. Noisy at 8am . . . I checked in at 12:30am. Room was dusty from renovation.
Pros: Well, it was cheap, and it had a kitchenette, and the staff was nice enough.
Cons: Horrible fluorescent lighting killed the 'homelike' experience. Took forever to check in and out. No ice bucket, or any kitchen stuff without requesting and waiting, not even a spoon. Thin walls, very noisy. Wifi didn't work.
Pros: I loved how welcoming the front desk was. Hotel employee was welcoming and amazing when she checked us in. As we checked out their morning guy, I think  was also very hospitable and wished us a great day.
Cons: I was looking for ice for my drink but unfortunately they did not have any. Which was a bummer
Pros: location right off and on the highways.
