Pros: Unique setting & concept. Lots of dogs serenading guests most mornings. Winter dog sledding will be my next visit to Muktuk. Lodge renovations in progress during our stay, hence somewhat low rating for the room.
From the description online I didn't know exactly what to expect but to make things more clear the cabins are powered by solar power and did not contain indoor plumbing. The staff provides you with a big jug of potable water to drink from and wash with and each cabin is provided it's on outhouse. Also, we didn't get to use this, but there's a wood stove in each cabin as well, which I think would be nice during the wintertime. The breakfast they provided each morning is basic. Things like yogurt ,fruit, toast, tea and juice. You are also able to watch movies in the commons area on their big screen TV. They have a huge selection of movies.
Pros: I work in Skagway Alaska for the summer and my friend and I just needed to get away from the tourist for a few days. The staff was really friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Some of the kitchen dishes were dirty in our cabin. Also, there were mosquitoes everywhere so if you stay during the summer come prepared.

Pros: The dancing with the wolves motif is very rugged. Appreciated the courtesy computer
Cons: No complimentary breakfast. Gym was shameful.
Pros: * Nice updated look* Surprised to find a 2-person hot-tub in the room!* Good customer service
Cons: * Restaurant in the lobby not open later (probably beyond hotel's control?)* Side entrace to parking lot not open? Would be more convenient to load / unload vehicle during a stay.
We stayed at the Edge Water. They said they had a pull out bed in the room...turned out to only be a sofa.
Pros: The food at the restaurant we did stay at was good.
Cons: Yes, they deleted our booking before we arrived and did not have a room for us. They did put us at another hotel however at the same rate.
